Do not buy from this fabric store! I bought fabric in November 2025 for a Christmas project. There was nothing stating that the fabric was on backorder. It was in stock. when I did not receive my fabric when I was supposed to a couple of weeks later, I was told that because of shipping that it was not going to be available until a month later which really screwed up Christmas gifts that I was in the process of making for a little girl. I waited the month never got the fabric called customer service. They assured me that I would get the fabric that it was coming. It’s still on backorder. I called every single month until May 2026 finally, I asked for a refund for my money back. I was told I would get the refund in 3 to 4 business days a month later I still did not have my refund. I called again. They assured me that they were going to escalate it up to the financial department. I would have my refund that day again never received a refund. I called today. I asked to speak with a supervisor I was told unfortunately there’s only two people that work customer service and the owner and the financial department aren’t available. They don’t take calls. I said well how am I supposed to get my money back? I’ve been told three times now that I was going to get a refund. Supposedly she put me on hold got a hold of the financial department and told me that I was going to be getting a credit memo to my email stating that they’re refunding the money we’ll see, but I can guarantee you I will not be refunded the money and the sad part is when I called my bank. My credit union told me that because it was over two months since I had purchased the fabric. I can’t get my money back from them. I would have to fight it out with the merchant. So basically I am out $231.25. I’m laid off currently and I really can’t afford to be out that kind of money. And I’ve never heard of a company where you can’t escalate any issues up to some kind of a manager or a supervisor. I asked the call center girl who is your boss? She didn’t have an answer for me. This is a scam.

Was backordered 20 yards which wasn't a huge deal but they charged us for the backordered yardage and I have had to call and email weekly for the last 4 1/2 months with no refund issued. Every week Andrew responds to my email with, "The refund has been sent to the accounting team for processing, and they are working on the refunds this week. I have marked this as urgent, so they process it by end of the week."
This is a small non-profit that support traumatized kids. We can't afford to just write on a couple hundred dollars.
They Owe Me Money and Give Me Lies
I ordered some foam...about $500 worth in January...5 months later...no foam...but monthly lies that is was shipping next week.
Finally, I canceled the order and asked for a refund....which was promised in a few days. It has now been two weeks with no refund...and the same line of "next week" B.S.

When I ordered fabric for my wedding dress, they told me it would take 3-5 business days to arrive. They never mentioned that they would expect another 2 days to process the order and then add those 2 days to the 3-5 business days.
I bought the fabric 2 weeks before my wedding, and we were expecting to receive it last Friday. It’s Wednesday now, and we still haven’t received it.
When I called the store, the two people who answered the phone were completely helpless and disrespectful. They didn’t seem to know what to do and were rude to me.
If I could give them a -5-star rating, I would.

I ordered swatches on April 3,2026. I waited 9 days for a response that the swatches were sent. Being it was over Easter, I didn't want to complain. Then came the emails asking if I wanted to purchase the linen. Near the end of April, I wrote asking for my swatches or a refund. I was told to give it until May 1. Mind you, these are just swatches! Thank God I didn't order the fabric yet. The beginning of May, I called and asked for a refund. I was told he was sending the info to the accounting department. On May 19th, I called and she said the same thing and it normally takes about 3 days. Today is May 24,2026. I am still waiting. I have since ordered the fabric from FWD, received the FABRIC, and made the project while I still wait for my refund from Online Fabric. Never again!

They took my money and never told me that they didn’t have the fabric. Their fabric pattern was so much larger than they discussed and when I returned it they took over two months to return the money. They also took money from my account without a purchase. The account department will not take or return phone calls and they will not reply to emails as well. I would never order from them again. stay away from them. This is total fraud!!!
I ordered 11 yards of a certain velvet
I ordered 11 yards of a certain velvet, which added up to nearly $500. I assumed the fabric was in stock because it showed up on the website but after a week or more, they told me it was back ordered. After waiting and waiting for more than two months, I canceled the order, but they never refunded my money. They gave me the runaround similar to what other people have experienced but no refund. I thought they were a good company. I had ordered from them before over the years, but I will never will again.
slow/no shipping!
ordered lining fabric for a project. Waited a full week and it never shipped. Wrote the company and they just canceled the order for me so I'm not out any money but now I have to go find fabric elsewhere and I'm a week behind with my project. Don't order if you need anything quickly
Horrible
I ordered four fabrics. I returned one because I ordered it by mistake. I paid $10 to return it so I could get my money back. It's been more than 2 months. I've emailed them five times and called the 3 times. I still haven't been refunded. It's been 2.5 months since I ordered the 2 fabrics I haven't received. They told me it was being shipped that day, then they kept telling me it'll be shipped next week.

VERY frustrating
VERY frustrating. I placed and order and some of the fabric arrived. The rest was on "backorder". It kept getting more and more delayed so I asked for a refund for the backordered fabric. Customer service was lovely and said no problem - you should see a refund in a few days. It has now been almost 3 weeks and no refund. I called customer service and they said they "sent over the request" to accounting again. Will not order from there again. Had a GREAT experience with Fabric Direct.
Is it in stock? Who knows?
I placed an order for 4 unrelated items 1/12. I got a confirmation email but nothing after that. On 1/23 I sent them an email asking for a status. They responded that 3 of the 4 items were out of stock and I should receive my items by mid February. No, I had not received a backorder email.
To reiterate, 3 of the 4 items, likely from different vendors, were out of stock, even though they did not show as such when I placed my order. OFS told me they are unable to mark things as out of stock on their website, so you just have to roll the dice, I guess?
On 2/27, my order status had not changed, so I canceled it. I will not be rolling those dice again, thanks.
never received product
i ordered no see-um mesh on black Friday. it is now jan 28 and my third time contacting them. They've sent the same email each time giving a 3 week back order delay. needless to say, they're selling product they dont have in stock and customer service is terrible. i never received my product and canceled.

Made a purchase on Sept. 28th, contacted OFS on Nov. 3rd to find out the status of the order, I was told the item is on back order and should be in stock by the end of Nov., contacted them again Dec. 11th, the response was we are now expecting our shipment to arrive Dec. 30th, contacted them again Jan. 5th(today) the response "We are expecting our shipment to arrive by the end of Jan." a few mins later another email stating "Thank you for choosing OnlineFabricStore. Unfortunately we are unable to fulfill the following item(s) from your order:" but on the website the item has never been unavailable to purchase. Bad business and a waste of time with this company.
Never shipped product & zero communication
I ordered fabric July 4th weekend. Weeks prior to that I saw the price of the fabric but their July 4th sale was higher than the price it was originally which means they jack up the price and then "discount" it for an advertised sale. See screenshot. It's a month and a half later and I still don't have a tracking number and there's zero communication from the company. I keep having to call asking for an update but they never have one. I have finally asked for a full refund. Based on the other reviews, I may have to dispute it with my credit card company. I order a LOT of material for my company and this was a test order for 100yrds to see what experience I would have. It's been horrible and I would never ever recommend them to anyone.
Great provider of misinformation
I have been trying to order hunter green gauze fabric since June 2025. I have had several email exchanges with customer service. The fabric was back ordered. After waiting several weeks for the fabric to be back in stock, I canceled the order. They did tell me that they had 1 and 1/2 yards available. At first I didn't want it but then I changed my mind. I reached out to customer service by email and asked if it was still available and if I could order it.On 8/1/2025 Ariel wrote back and said my order was being prepared. I email on 8/5/2025 and was told no such order existed. I called on 8/5/2025 to discuss and ended up asking to speak to a supervisor. I was planning on placing a new order for the 1 and 1/2 yards and requesting expedited shipping. I've was on hold waiting for a manager for nearly 15 minutes when I was disconnected. I do not recommend this store at all.
Incompetent
Ordered four items, one of which was out of stock and on backorder and was not marked as such in the listing or during checkout. I received an email over 24 hours after placing my order to notify me, with the instructions to email or call and a representative could help me find a substitute for the fabric. After three emails from me reiterating my two questions- when can I expect my item to be shipped based on the date it will be restocked, and what substitute is there, which was EXPLICITLY what I was told they could provide- I was finally told that there was no substitute and no projected date of shipping. I asked to cancel the item, as this was on a deadline. I was told it was canceled. Then I reached out to THEM to confirm that the rest of my order would be shipped promptly, and only then was I told that they'd canceled the entire order and it was up to ME to reorder from THEM. They clearly felt no need to notify me that the other three items were never coming. This is basic business functionality and they failed at almost every step.
Per their own email, "Unfortunately, our website does not display live inventory, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Availability may change quickly, and while we do our best to keep stock information current, occasional discrepancies can occur." Seven days after I was told this, the product is still listed as available for purchase and not marked as backordered on their website, so this company has no problems lying to your face.
They sent the wrong color vinyl
They sent the wrong color vinyl. Emailed them to tell them incorrect vinyl was sent with the picture from THEIR website of the vinyl I ordered and a picture of what I received.
Received an email saying good news your package has arrived! Clearly not reading the email.
I emailed back and said I received the wrong color vinyl. She writes back saying they will check the warehouse for the color I ordered..then I receive an email saying they don't have any white vinyl. I DIDN'T ORDER WHITE! She said she could send me a return label. I did respond via email I called them. It got no where! She said the issue is closed! Hung up on me! Gotta love horrible customer service.

I ordered my fabric in plenty of time of mg event, was quoted a 5-7 day shipping window. I reached out after 10 days of still not receiving my product, to find out the item was back ordered and was most likely not going to be here in time of my wedding. This left me scrambling to find another fabric by the time I needed it. My fabric finally showed up weeks after I was originally quoted. I no longer needed the fabric as I was able to find it else where. After reaching out multiple times they finally gave me a shipping label to return the item, and I still months later haven’t received my refund. I got a notification that they received my fabric back but never returned my money. I have tried reaching out over 10+ times to only be ignored. So now I am out $60, and have had nothing but a terrible experience with this company. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. If anyone’s reading this, I would love my money back or at least a response to my many emails.
