Over the last 8 months we have been to The Pantanal (Birds, Giant Otters & Jaguars), South Africa (expert led safari), Tanzania (Great Migration and Ruby Wedding in Zanzibar) and India (Tigers & Cooking). Each trip has been built with care and attention by Will and Carol. Each trip was amazing in its own right. We met some great people as well as had some incredible experiences. Highly recommend if you care about wildlife conservation and value safe adventure! The food and accommodation was excellent too.

We had an amazing holiday. Everything went smoothly, from the first meeting at the airport to seeing us off when our holiday ended. Transport was excellent. Drivers did an amazing job negotiating traffic in and around the cities. Highlights were definitely the game drives. We saw more than we expected and our naturalists were extremely knowledgeable and could get us into spaces to get the best views possible. Food in the lodges was brilliant. One small downside was being in city hotels for the Delhi and Agra times when it was less easy to eat outside the hotels. Would definitely recommend On track safaris to anyone looking for that little extra in a safari. Thank you.

What an amazing holiday! Adding the Taj Mahal to our safari trip gave us the vibrance of Delhi, the stunning architecture of Agra and the peace and tranquillity of the safari game drives. We saw so many beautiful birds, sloth bear, wild elephants and of course tigers. At every step of the way the OnTrack Safaris representatives and drivers were there to meet us. The hotels and lodges throughout were excellent. This is our second trip with OnTrack Safaris and we recommend them wholeheartedly.

I had a wonderful time. Very well organised for a solo female.Great communication from start to finish .I stayed at three different locations each with individual styles but all had great food, very clean ,very friendly and helpful staff . The variety of locations enabled the sighting of a wide variety of animals. I also learnt about Leopards. I would definitely recommend.

I have Taken 2 safari trips with On-Track Safari's. One in India to see tigers and one in Tanzania to see the Wildebeest migration. The Drivers and Guides of the safari trips are extremely good at tracking the animals and have extensive knowledge about them. The hospitality and meals at the various lodges have been top notch. A very well curated trip. Achieved my dream of seeing The Great Migrations with no other holiday company jeeps in the area ! So special. Great locations and hospitality excellent. Can’t say enough positive things about OnTrack Safari’s.

We met Will from On Track at Destinations Travel Show. We briefly explained what we wanted from our second safari (something less curated and more “hard core” than our Kruger experience) and Will suggested Tanzania and particularly the Serengeti with the Bush Rover camp and viewing the Wildebeest migration. We went with this suggestion. Having just returned we are absolutely thrilled to have put our trust in Will as On Track met and exceeded our expectations and the safari delivered 100%. We had a great group of like minded but more experienced travellers. The camps we stayed in whilst not luxurious were comfortable and the staff and service were all great. The food was exceptional bearing in mind the location of the camps and facilities available to the staff. The animal viewing was outstanding. Our two jeeps were the only jeeps in sight most of the time. Our viewings were entirely private most of the time. We saw a wide range of animals and birds in large groups and we saw lots of predators (especially lions) as predicted by Will. The Wildebeest migration is an experience we will never forget. It has to be one of the world’s greatest natural phenomenon. We will book another safari with On Track soon.

A fabulous trip, put together by Carol and Will with our every need catered for… transfers, accommodation, flights, food and other added parts of the tour arrangements were great. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the guides did all they could to make sure we saw as much as possible. This was our first safari and we look forward to other adventures with OTS. Thoroughly recommended.

We’ve just returned from a most memorable safari centred holiday. Thanks to the expert guidance of Will and Carol, arranging our first visit to Southern Africa, wasn’t overwhelming. They listened to our wishes and made valuable suggestions to create a bespoke, hassle free package.
On Track Safari’s recommendations provided us with a perfect balance of experiences. Initially we enjoyed time to explore Cape Town before embarking on the key safari element. OTS’s suggestion to experience 3 safari reserves in the Kruger proved ideal as each lodge, environment and experience of wildlife was notably varied. Our wish list of animal sightings was quickly ticked off! We followed these amazing encounters with a short visit to Victoria Falls where we were again thrilled with the recommended lodge and transfer arrangements. Our next requirement was for some rest and relaxation at a beach and the suggestion to spend time at Sava Dunes in Mozambique was perfect. Finally, because we were due to return home from Johannesburg, we wanted to explore that area too. After having a day to explore the city and It’s townships ourselves, OTS helped us to create a unique day with a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide to visit the Pretoria area.
OTS created a WhatsApp group to maintain communication whilst we were travelling which was reassuring and provided important information and updates.

Carol and William at On Track Safaris could not have been more helpful, even rearranging flights for us while we were out in South Africa. The Safari, the Lodges, the staff and the whole experience was second to none and we now have incredible memories that will last a lifetime. Would totally recommend.

The whole package was amazing. That 'amazing' includes the safari drives, the lodges, the food and the staff.
A special thanks to the guides, trackers and drivers. Their ability to seek our amazing sighting was uncannily good. They delighted in sharing their deep knowledge of the bush and it's many inhabitants. The birds were many, varied and often spectacular. An unexpected bonus. We saw the big 5 on several occasions and mostly up close.

Amazing really interesting safaris in three different reserves in the Greater Kruger - great guides, good food and comfortable dwellings.

It was our first time safari and South Africa. Great accommodation and food. Guides and animal experiences were brilliant in the private reserves with many real close up viewings.
Some minor hiccups but normally dealt with promptly so did not affect the overall experience.
Catered very well for my wife's dietary special requests.
Would book again.

We have recently returned from South Africa where we enjoyed our "3 camps in 10 days" safari organised by OTS. The 3 camps and experiences were quite distinct and made for a great trip. All the arrangements went very smoothly and OTS made sure we were constantly informed about plans.
We liked the fact that OTS have worked with these camps over many years and have built a strong understanding and relationship.

Our tented safari through the Okavango was a fabulous trip. The camps were well organised, food great, fellow travellers excellent company and the wildlife magnificent. On Track Safaris excelled again (this was our third trip with them) and it's good to know we are contributing back to nature through their connection with the On Track Foundation and Leopard conservation.

This was our first safari and following our experience with OTS it won't be our last. From the initial booking to the end of our holiday everything went smoothly and far exceeded our expectations. We stayed at 3 locations and could not find fault with any of them. From the tented camp to the luxury lodges we felt at home. The food was delicious and our dietary requirements were well catered for. The staff could not do enough for us. The guides and trackers at all 3 reserves were exceptional. They were very knowledgeable, experienced and skilled in locating the animals.We had seen the big 5 by day 2 !
Carol and Will give the whole experience the personal touch. We met them on our adventure and they were so friendly and personable.
If you are thinking of going on safari do not hesitate to use OTS. You will not regret it.

We enjoyed staying at three different camps in Private Reserves in/near Kruger. The staff at all of them were wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. The accommodations and food were great. The trackers and drivers made the drives memorable, enabling us to see up-close the wide variety of animals. In most cases we were the only vehicle present, a real plus.

What can we say about the trip we’ve just had?……….. WOW!

Now this was our 5th trip with On Track Safaris, our 4th South African Safari.
We organised this one as a holiday during a “significant birthday” year for one of us.
As we have done so many trips to South Africa we wanted to put together a bespoke itinary based on On Tracks tried and tested 3 Nights, 3 Lodges, 3 reserves framework but we tweaked it.
The trip was originally planned to be us two, my in-laws and my sister in-law and her husband. But sadly due to work commitments the latter had to pull out and the places were offered up to anyone else that enquired. This was handled, as always, expertly by Carol with no fuss at all.

We elected to stay for 3 nights at On Track’s home in South Africa, the wonderful Rukiya! Each time we return to this lodge, nestled on the banks of the Blyde River, we feel like we are coming home ourselves. The greeting is always warm, as if we have never left. Which makes it so easy to relax immediately into your surroundings. After three nights which include 3 morning game drives on a Big 5 reserve and 3 afternoon/evening drives on a non Big 5 reserve (they do have leopard though!!!) it was time to move onto our second lodge and reserve. But not before we had seen all the Big 5 within the first three morning drives at Rukiya and two sightings of the rare Pel’s Fishing Owl!

Reserve number 2 was the famous Thornybush. The lodge was an absolutely stunning former private home called Shimungwe. I can honestly say that of all the lodges we have stayed at over the years Shimungwe is probably up there in our top three favourites! Homely, friendly staff and superb food.
The game viewing did not disappoint either. In our opinion Thornybush offers the best general game viewing of all the reserves we have stayed in. The shear fact we were able to tick off the big 5 again within the first two game drives and add wild dogs to it says a lot!
We were lucky to enjoy 4 nights here and we all loved every minute of it!

Next we moved to Sabi Sands reserve staying at Elephant Plains lodge for 3 nights. This is another lodge we have stayed at before and immediately felt right at home.
Sabi Sands is renowned for its density of Leopard. While we saw excellent leopard sightings in the previous reserves, Sabi Sands just delivered in spades!

The guides at all of the lodges were excellent. Their knowledge just oozes out of them, particularly when they find out you have a particular interest in certain things. A case in point is my father in law. He is a MAD KEEN birder. And while you can go on dedicated birding safaris where you will look for nothing else, this wasn’t our trip. But! As soon as our guides found this out they went above and beyond to help him tick off birds. His tally for 10days was 125 new species to him. Quite an achievement that the guides were only too happy to help with.

After Sabi Sands we bid farewell to the in-laws and the other amazing couple who travelled with us (you know who you are if you read this!). We returned to Rukiya for two more nights on our own.
More leopard sightings, more Pel’s sightings and two more opportunities to have breakfast in the bush next to the river with the hippos.

As always, we were extremely sad to be leaving. The African bush and its animals are infectious. As is the enthusiasm and kindness of everyone envolved with the trips.
The quality of game viewing on this trip has been eye watering. The range of species, the quality of sightings and the amount. We totalled 10 individual Leopards across 17 sightings…..that’s says a lot! And maybe some very good luck thrown in too.

Carol and Will have put their life and soul into this company and the On Track Foundation for which is served by these trips. Their passion and love for all of the destinations they offer tips to is unparalleled, but we think particularly South Africa.

We would not travel for wild life trips with any other company.

From the bottom of our hearts we thank you Carol and Will. It was lovely sharing the day with you in country to share stories.
But we also thank you for giving us the opportunity to share in the joy of those travelling with us seeing the things we’ve seen so often for the first time. We think that is more special in many ways!
