DO NOT get optimum mobile. They will lie to you about the price and you will be stuck forever with optimum mobile's ACTUAL price.
The price to finance the phone is 183$, so if you cancel it(which I have did today after 4 months of being lied to) , you will have to pay that amount as well. I was promised 3 months free internet and 2 phone lines, then 20$ a month for 3 years locked. But I was charged every month $51.83. After speaking with the agents today they said it was a misunderstanding but they won't listen to the recording of what happened.
We don't use the phone at all we agreed because the price was lower, but it's not at all what was promised! Prepare to pay more.

What a disaster this company is!! Took me 45 minutes (of my life I can't get back) to cancel after I already made the switch to another provider and had it installed.
I contacted optimum prior to going with another local provider to see if they would extend a current offer to me that was being advertised. Well I got a big, fat NO, sorry! Ok, no problem I said. I'll be calling back to cancel. And I did, but oh brother, what a nightmare!!
I despise this company with every ounce of my being, and I am so grateful to be able to give them the boot after another local provider came to my town and squashed Optimum's monopoly. I wouldn't go back to them if it were free. Horrible, inconsistent service, poor technical support, high fees,(and everyone seems to have all different prices that they're paying!! What's up with that?!) Oh, and they lie. Read other reviews on TrustPilot, Reddit or Google, I am not alone, which gives me some solace
Although it wasn't easy or pleasant to cancel my service (it was like trying to escape a cult), I am so happy to be free!!!

I have been with optimum since the beginning of the year. Here's my honest review regarding their internet service. Optimum provides very reliable and affordable internet service. Personally, I haven't come across any companies that offer the prices and reliability they do. They provide different tiers of speed, and I have had no issues with internet speed at all. I highly recommend them.

I called for Earthlink, I was transferred to optimum, I explained what I needed, and they "Optimum" sent me a cable box. I had two days to get it up and running. It was not going to work. I called to cancel, they flat out refuse to cancel (I have it recorded) I asked for the Mans name his said Adam. I ask for his ID number, his states he did not have one. I talked for 47 minutes to try and cancel the service and he would just suspend it, stating that once it is suspended, I can cancel at any time (Dumb) I said great, cancel the account my now, and we went back in a circle. Optimum SUCKS and I only had it for two days.
It took 4 days, over 12 phone calls, and at least 8 to 10 customer service people to cancel the service I was never able to use for one week. I will have AI translate the call, and you will understand the pain.
I have been in contact with Randy - he has the AI translation.

Genuinely the worst service I’ve ever experienced in my life. An hour and a half of dropped calls for them to say I have to wait until tomorrow. I genuinely cannot wait to cancel this POS SERVICE.

Wow!! I used these guys for 18 months because it was my only option at the time. The install was the worst service experience I’d ever had and left a review for that in 2025. Including how their service agents lied to me multiple times and the field staff drilled a massive hole into a window frame on my brand new house.
I called 2 weeks ago requesting a disconnection date for 2 days later. I then asked if I would be refunded a prorated amount as they bill a month in advance and I was disconnecting only a couple days into a new cycle.
I was told yes to the refund and that I’d receive an email confirming the disconnection for 2 days later.
The only thing I received was multiple sales calls trying to get me to sign up for service in my new location. I purposely let the agent I initially spoke with know I was moving out of the country and not interested in ever using them again. But clearly my reason for disconnecting was not noted based on the ridiculous amount of sales callls I was spammed with.
After 2 weeks of still no confirmation, I called to see what was going on.
I was then told it would only be disconnected at the end of my current billing cycle and that they don’t do refunds but would offer me a discount if I set up service at my new location 🤦♀️
You cannot make this s*#t up!
Worst company ever with untrained employees.
Run far and fast. Do not waste your time and money with the guys.

I do not feel comfortable even giving one star! They don’t deserve any at all! The service is horrible. I believe they are fraudulent by promising a year rate only to have a go up a month their technicians unless they are in-house or un knowledgeable and a complete waste of time. The remote that they sent out are cheap and don’t last for over a month then they send out replacements, which just a bad and technicians who can’t even program them. It’s now a month and I’m still waiting for a decent running remote. How does this company get away with us? It should be a class action suit if nothing else.

Switched to Optimum mobile after being promised an excellent promotional deal ($20/line for 18 months and $600 in trade-in credits). Once my numbers were ported over, their customer care team refused to honor virtually every single incentive used to get me to switch.
After endless phone calls and escalations, they only offered a tiny fraction of what was originally agreed upon. Classic bait-and-switch tactics. This was my first experience with Optimum and it will definitely be my last. Misleading, dishonest, and completely frustrating.
AVOID like the plague

I had a very disappointing experience canceling my service. Before canceling, I specifically asked whether I would owe for another month, and the representative assured me I had made the cutoff and would not be charged. Based on that information, I proceeded with the cancellation.
To my surprise, I was later billed for an additional month. When I called to dispute the charge, the company refused to honor what their representative had told me. Instead, they simply pointed to their policy and took no responsibility for providing inaccurate information.
Mistakes happen, but what matters is how a company handles them. In this case, there was no accountability and no effort to make things right. If you choose this provider, make sure you get everything in writing because you may not be able to rely on what you’re told over the phone.

Optimum is absolutely the worst company period. I just wasted over 30 minutes trying to tell them I don’t ever want their service. I told them if it was free I would not want it. Their retention team are basically hired harassers. I told them in every way I could I would never use their service. They kept putting me on hold and then the harassment would start again. There should be some laws against this tatic. Of course I don’t want even waste time discussing the money lost waiting for them to never come and install a fiber network. . Don’t use them no matter what freebies they offer. I have had their 37 years too long. I never write reviews because I don’t have time. They are that bad

Trying to access customer service in general or cancel my service with Optimum has been an absolute nightmare. You cannot get a person to speak to until you use the word "disconnect" Then their disconnection process is predatory. Instead of processing my request to cancel, the agents subjected me to incredibly aggressive marketing tactics and relentless upselling.Every time I stated that I just wanted to disconnect, they ignored my request and tried to push new promotions, bundles, or mobile plans on me. It is incredibly frustrating to be held hostage on a call just to stop paying for a service. They make it intentionally difficult to leave, showing zero respect for the customer's time or boundaries. It took two tries and 37 minutes on the phone to cancel. If you are considering Optimum, be warned: they will make your life miserable when you try to cancel.

I switched to Optimum mobile because I have their internet and I figured they're on the T-Mobile network save myself some money. Huge mistake. For the amount of frustration on The Daily that I get from lack of service it is not worth the money saved. It's about $15 a month I save and I can tell you I have decent service maybe once or twice a week. For our company who is almost a monopoly on Long Island running their wires all throughout Suffolk and Nassau and they're on the T-Mobile network somehow has the worst service I've ever had and I have had AT&T T-Mobile mint visible through Verizon and Boost Mobile and none of them have been this bad. The service is absolutely terrible. There are way too many dead zones. I understand it's 30 bucks a month but I seriously barely get service. I definitely do not recommend
