I was coming to warn people of the absolute horrible experience i had trying to cancel the movile service but i see everyone is already aware of how bad they are.
They will promise you everything under the sun to sign up and keep the service but dont believe them. I was promised a gift card (never received it) i was promised it would be a 60 day trial free of charge but i was charged within 10 days and they would not honor the trial and offered no refund.

I have to keep my optimum internet it is the only service I can get it is the worst I have ever seen I was using at & t all my life until we are out of the service area now I receive over 200 spam calls a day I know it is this company sharing my information I spend all my time deleting and blocking it is none stop i have to turn my phone off most days find a better internet company if possible

Oh my God, where to start? It should be a simple process to cancel my service. But No. They have phone zombies working for them. These people do not know how to help. They think by wearing me down, I will stay with them? Seriously? Not only am I reporting Optimum to as many regulatory commissions that I can, but I will NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER choose Optimum again. And I will share this very unpleasant experience with whomever asks me for a referral. Please. Whoever reads this, take them to account for the WORST customer service of any company on this planet!

The worst services I’ve ever gotten for being 25 years with Optimum. Internet service is horrible. They start with them doing a troubleshooting. Which don’t help at all ….I do that myself. I will be looking into other providers. I am not happy at all with Optimum. Their services is horrible. Then they don’t even want to credit you a little something just for all the aggravation & stress you have to go through. AWFUL SERVICE!!!!

Optimum Online takes advantage of being the only provider in certain regions, leading to regular blackouts, horrible customer service, and billing/ fine print that is not what was originally agreed to. I have been on the phone with Optimum today twice after failing to receive a callback last week to resolve my billing dispute. Optimum caused me to overdraft by auto-debiting me for an item that is currently under dispute, and without my direct permission to do so. Three hours later, the issue is still not resolved and the agents keep dropping the call with no attempt to call me back. If Optimum didn't run a monopoly, they would simply not be in business. Other reviews would prove this to be true. Optimum should not have to depend on having no competitors in order to do business.

I would give it no stars if i could the service is unreiable aand they literally refused to cancel they were so rude and offered all these incentives only to find out later such incentives dont exist they are HORRIBLE stay away

I have never experienced such poor customer service from any other company. It is extremely difficult to contact them, and they keep you waiting for hours without resolving the issue. Luckily, we canceled the service, but they continued billing us for several months. Whenever we tried to reach out, they claimed the issue was resolved, yet the charges kept appearing again and again.

Due to where I live Optimum had a monopoly on high speed Internet. I was forced to deal with a barely working app, Optimum sending third party scabs to "fix" my home connection just making me wait another week to get one of their actual techs to come in and fix it the correct way (the techs were all great), a customer service line that was just bots that ran you around in circles, and when you finally get a human they just try to sell you on their cellphone. Thankfully another provider was let in by the local government and I was eventually able to cancel my account. Which even after I dropped off my equipment and paid my "final" bill they sent me another one and when I tried to contact anyone I couldn't because the bots marked my account as closed. I just paid the $20 to not have to deal with them ruining my credit score, but can't stress how terrible their customer service is. If I could give them negative stars as a 20+ year customer, I would.

Very disappointing experience with Optimum Business Fiber.
An Optimum 3rd party contractor accidentally cut our fiber internet line, leaving our business without service for over seven hours during business hours. The outage caused significant disruption to our operations and substantial lost business revenue.
While we understand that mistakes happen, what was most frustrating was the response afterward. Customer service initially offered us a $1.00 credit for the outage. We escalated the issue to Executive Customer Service and worked with Debbie Gonzalez, who was professional and courteous throughout the process. However, despite acknowledging that the outage was caused by contractor error, we were ultimately told there was nothing further Optimum could offer beyond the prorated service credit of $1.00.
As a business customer paying for reliable fiber service, we expected more accountability and a more meaningful response to such a serious disruption.
Unfortunately, businesses in our area have limited comparable alternatives for fiber internet service, which makes situations like this even more frustrating.
The technician who restored service was professional, but overall we were very disappointed with how the situation was resolved.

Really one of the worst service experiences ever. I've had the unfortunate experience of having to have optimum in a few different apartments over the years and it has never gotten better. Service cuts out all the time, they will hit you with random fees, and will never actually connect you with a real person.

I canceled my services with optimum on October 2025. It is may 26 th and I am still spending countless hours of my life disputing their billing errors. Over and over again different representatives have assured me the billing had been solved and today I received a threat to be sent to a collection agency. I take my credit score seriously and I will end up paying again. The managers and representatives at the phones do not solve any issues and they keep referring to the computer generated bills. They did not acknowledge their mistake or offer to clear the charge that I had been told was paid.

Terrible, just terrible constant disconnects, constant "internet not available" popups, constant package loss, literally every five minutes. Can barely even load a web browser page without getting aggravated cause of constant connection drops or issues.

I had Optimum as my provider for over 12 years and it's getting worse! A week ago today there was an outage in this area. I was told by text it was resolved, however, my tv had a black screen with a message, "unable to connect to the network" Optimum provided a site to go to if the problem still existed, which I did. After unplugging and plugging the modem, cable box etc. etc. my tv screen was still black with the message. I've had problems in the past but still stayed with Optimum, but this time, I decided I wanted to cancel Optimum. The service is horrible and the prices are ridiculous. I'm a senior citizen, I don't drive so I asked if someone could pick up the cable box and was told they don't pick up. I was told a label would be sent to my email so I could have FedEx deliver it. I explained that I don't have a printer to print out the label but it seemed it didn't matter to them. They don't pick up boxes. So now, I'm forced to pay over $300 monthly for cable that I don't receive and don't want! This company is a ripoff and they DO NOT care about their customers. I don't care if a serviceman came to try to fix the connection, I wanted to cancel cable and keep internet only! Optimum is the worse and I would NEVER recommend it!

Wow, I don't know if I've ever seen such a large company with worse reviews. But after trying deal with them, I can certainly see why. Currently on hold trying to cancel my mom's service because they charge so much for so little. Requested a call back over two hours ago, no call back received. And apparently calling them is the only way to cancel, no other options listed online, even after signing into the account. One point one stars is too high.

I never even got to try it as you have to have a coax outlet my house does not. I tried calling for a week to cancel after finding out no way around it. I was literally on the phone for over 30 mins with me having to yell at lady numberous times because she almost refused to cancel my service and when I asked for a manager she said there was not one available. She kept trying to negotiate reasons for me to stay not to mention. I am being billed for service I never even got to use. My device was delivered a week ago and I’m billed for an entire month! Everyone stay far far away from this crooked place.

I had Optimum internet and cable for over 10 years. Service is fair . At times ok, I never had mobile service but, they keep billing me for mobile phone since I had autopay which I dispute every month for six months. Now the say they are sending me for collection after i pulled out my credit card.

I was told the day we changed to Optimum Mobile that their service and the price they quoted would include service including data, texting and phone service to Costa Rica. When I got to Costa Rica I had no service at all. They lied to me to get me to change. I spoke with agents and they only could say SORRY. I hope that more people see this and realize they are not to be trusted!

I was originally with Suddenlink and had no issues. They were purchassd by Optimum and has been a bad experience. Price jumps, poor connection. Cancelling service seems impossible. Third day trying and on each call was told it was cancelled and I would recieve email conformation. Never happened. Do not trust this company. They will hold you hostage. I have now wasted hours on the phone being sent to multiple people with no resolution.
