BEWARE: Zero stars for NO SERVICE whatsoever
I am writing this review to warn others about this company. If I could give Orkin and this particular branch zero stars I would. I recently arranged a pest inspection at my home with the Eaglerock branch as I observed multiple exit holes on my ceiling. The representative, Erik, performed the inspection. He agreed that the holes were not from termites, but likely from some other type of wood-destroying organism and that opening up the ceiling drywall is recommended to confirm the type of infestation. After three weeks, I repeatedly followed-up with him and his office requesting the inspection report. Today, I was told that no report would be generated or prepared because it was not a "full inspection." I was flabbergasted! I asked the representative what would be required for a full inspection and she just kept saying they will not provide a report. I asked her if, at the very least, the inspector could write a limited report describing what he observed during the inspection (e.g. multiple exit holes, but no termite activity) similar to what other pest companies who subsequently inspected my condominium unit submitted (both limited and full reports). She dismissively replied, "Well, you can just submit those reports to your HOA." I informed her that I believe her company was unprofessional, unethical, and lacked any customer service whatsoever. I also explained to her how much time I spent to make my home accessible to their inspector and to follow-up with them repeatedly, only to be told there would not be any report generated whatsoever. I completely understand the one-star reviews for this branch. They obviously do not care about serving or protecting their customers despite their state customer satisfaction guarantee.

Best at Pest Control, I have received consistent outstanding service…
I have received outstanding service over the last year of Orkin Pest Control service for my 1825 sf house that sits on 1/3 of an acre. My home was built in 1958 and a mid-century gem but with that comes a few varieties of bugs and critters. Initially my problems were a rare mouse, tons of ants, millipedes, pill bugs and stinkbugs inside and out it was something alright. After the first application I have had NO return of any of those pests inside and honestly just a few millipedes and pill bugs outside that’s it! I have them come every three months and they are efficient and effective. The whole process inside and out takes maybe 30 minutes and I haven’t had any rodents or ants return since that first application, it’s been amazing. Also my agent Alex is just the most knowledgeable and professional person who genuinely cares about his clients and his work. He is truly a gem and he does such a great job of keeping me informed, updated to new issues or things to look for, it truly is a mini educational session when he wraps up the time reviewing and treating my home. If you are on the fence whether to go with Orkin or another national or even local Pest Control team I urge you to give them a try. I found Orkin to be the best in controlling my situation and informing me far better than any of their competitors. I believe Orkin’s staff are selected not only on their knowledge but their ability to communicate effectively and reliably with their clients. My sister also uses Orkin and her agent is just as knowledgeable and effective as Alex so ii is no accident, Orkin and the staff are a pleasure to work with i am very satisfied!

False advertising
Do not do business with them
Orkin use to be a great company but they have gone seriously down hill and I would stay far away from these dishonest and incapable people. The Orkin at 5411 Bandera Rd. Ste 307, San Antonio, TX 78238 are not to be trusted. They sold me a rodent ridge guard, pest control radian barrier for my attic and something called PC Standard-EOM7. I was misled about what it was I was purchasing. I was led to believe that the pest control chemicals were built into the radiant barrier and I was totally shocked that when the day came to install, they just sprayed bug spray around in my attic and put in cheap insulation barrier. They were suppose to do the entire attic but they missed about 1/4 of the attic but charged me for it anyways. Then no sooner than about an hour after they left, a lot of it fell down, they pushed some overhead ceiling lights out of their spaces and knocked out a panel of insulation from the floor of the ceiling. They came back and "fixed" it. They put the radiant barrier back up. Cleaned up the fallen insulation and tossed it away (ummm...pretty sure that is supposed to be up there), and put the lights back in place. I was then told that I owed them another over $2,000 because they can't do math. I signed a contract for a specific amount, I talked to the manager of the office about it and I paid the contracted amount that was agreed upon. He (James Junious) said that I paid what was agreed upon and he said the matter was closed, I did not owe any extra because I did not agree to the higher price and in fact, they never actually finished the promised job. I was promised the entire attic and that is not what they did. Fast forward several weeks and today, I get a bill in the mail for $2,327.86! I paid the contracted amount in full earlier this month, I talked to James the day of the job and had this resolved. He told me it was resolved and now he sends me a bill?! I tried to call the number provided on the bill and it answers and hangs up without giving me a chance to speak with a person. The job was a hot mess, done very unprofessionally and incomplete. They clearly have incompetent sales people who can't do math. I had a budget and it was where I wanted it to be. Had they been honest about the price or not trying to rip me off after the fact with a bait and switch scam, I would not have agreed to this service, which clearly they could not accomplish correctly. They are bug people, they need to stick to bugs and not try to get into construction. Leave that to the construction companies because they failed miserably. They still have not returned my calls to sort this matter out but I have paid in full and they are harassing me over their error. I am not happy at all with the work done, with the way it has been and is still being handled. I would highly recommend staying far away from Orkin. I will be firing them if I can ever reach them or they call back. Do not do business with them. They are not the credible and good quality company they once were. So disappointed! I have been a customer for over 20 years and have no idea what happened but this company is no longer dependable or good. They even no showed my last appointment.
Slimy Sales Call Center
I feel completely embarrassed, stooped, and quite frankly a fool. I call in to request a one-time pest control service for a rat sighting. Somehow get swindled into a 1-year all-encompassing pest control service agreement. The sales call center states one-time service isn't an option. Ok, no problem as it was explained to me you can cancel anytime and that the contract is billed monthly after each month onsite visit. One visit each month and payment due after each visit. WRONG. Yes, you pay monthly, but they only come onsite to spray every other month. Oh, and then they only spray outside. Oh, and they also give you 0 warning on the day-of service, despite what you had requested to be wrote in your account notes. They literally had set multiple rat traps inside the visit before which weren't even checked upon the return visit because they didn't feel the need to go in! This was the whole point for the initial call, they completely forgot about their customer base and request.
For those interested, this all equates to $126 per onsite spray visit. In which the tech will only be onsite for a total of 10 minutes. And only spray outside. Seriously!? For that much money, I want to see if they are hiring. This experience was a total scam, with an unethical lying call center. I could swallow the originally explained $63 per visit but $126!? Ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend Orkin to my worst enemies, that's how poor of an experience.

If you let this man in your house he may steal watches jewelry that's out in the open objects he can get his quick hands on and slip them in his pocket. I canceled the service as soon as I realized my jewelry was missing. I called Orkin about this problem and the supervisors did not care so if you let these people in your home make sure your valuables are not laying around make sure they are locked up.

I wouldn’t even give them 1 star, HORRIBLE customer service, the amount of disrespect from a “professional” company baffles me. We payed these people every month for a year after expressing dissatisfaction several times throughout the year, even being promised a manager to come out and talk to us or treat our property himself. We called and canceled our contract several months ago and they still continued to take money out of our account monthly to the point we had to shut the card off, now they’re trying to send a “declined” bill to collections. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. They will take your hard earned money and run with it and do not do there jobs nor do they care about you or your pest problems. Horrible horrible company. Will never recommend to any.

Signed up for a general pest plan with Orkin, mainly because spiders were getting into our garage every fall. The agent who came out was on time and actually pointed out a few little entry cracks I never thought about. Still saw one or two webs after the first visit, but overall it’s way better than last year

Had Orkin termite control come out when we spotted mud tubes near the foundation. The technician took extra time to explain the tailored treatment approach and how they protect wood, which I appreciated. Price was higher than I hoped, but seeing no fresh activity weeks later feels good.

Orkin’s seasonal mosquito control helped a bit in the backyard, but I still ended up swatting bugs most evenings. The tech was friendly and showed me the breeding spots he treated, but I guess I expected more.

If I could give zero stars I would. Had them come out for a rodent problem. Had me sign a paper that they could put a hole in my garage wall. You should see the size of what they made in the garage pulled out my dishwasher bent it up. Used my camera to see if anything was there put traps all over. I thought the guy was coming this week but didn’t show. I called the main number. He told me I’m not scheduled till March. What are you supposed to do? In the meantime I’m paid up and will be canceling the policy as they have not solved my issue. Along with leaving traps all over my garage. This has been going on since November. I give credit to the tech who did come Ray but as far as Dave when you call, he’s nasty, ignorant and rude.

Absolute worse pest control company i have ever dealt with. I am a hard working african american male an they completely did nothing an took my money. I feel they treated me this way due to me being african american, I have several caucasian friends who use them an get treated totally different. I definitely do not refer this racist company!
Avoid Orkin unless you want to experience a constant nightmare!
We were using Western Pest Control (a local business and a great, reliable family business) for many years. They inspected my mother's home in Baltimore for many years, so when I noticed a swarm of termites in my basement, I called Western.
After a few years, Orkin bought them. We were not informed about the change, but received an invoice stuffed between our screen door and front door. We were sure that it was a mistake, but could not verify why we received an invoice from a company that we had not contracted with. It took a number of calls to find out that Orkin was now working with Western's customers. It has been a nightmare from Day One!
The local office is a nightmare. They schedule appointments without your approval and will charge you if they come out. We had to beg them to replace damaged bait boxes which were overlooked during a quarterly inspection. When someone came out, he was abusive and told us that we did not need replacement boxes, even though the tops were missing from some of the boxes.
They tomorrow and then rescheduled it without speaking to us. We found out about the appointment through an email. This is very common: They schedule you for service on and do not let you know. Then they just keep changing it for a later date when they don’t show. They keep making changes to their scheduling program and their billing program. Several times this year their system has changed my appointment week, day and time, and not even contacted me. When you call the local office, they promise solutions which never happen . . . just more lies and confusion!
Avoid them at all cost! It is beyond comprehension that they have good ratings on other sites. If you check them out on this site, their ratings are 1.5 stars with 83% bad reviews.
Check out local companies. Look for reviews on other sites. Avoid national companies as they answer to shareholders and not to customers.
I Do Not And Will Not Recommend…
I Do Not And Will Not Recommend OrkinTherm/Orkin for their Crawlspace Encapsulation Service. I was intentionally deceived by the Inspector/Sales Rep (CK) after the Installation was supposedly completed. He lied and said, that the installation was entirely completed and the dehumidifier was connected to electricity and operating. One week to that day later, I received a phone call from an Electrical Contracting company. They were contacting me to schedule an appointment to install an electrical reciprocal for the crawlspace dehumidifier. I was so dumbfounded by the phone call, until I actually told the lady with the Electrical Contractor's office that she must have the wrong phone number. I told her, that I had been told by the Inspector/Sales Rep with Orkin when it was installed the week before, that he would return to my house to inspect the encapsulation installation and also check on how the dehumidifier was operating, in one week. I continued that conversation by telling the lady, that I am elderly and unable to go into the crawlspace myself so I was waiting for someone to go into it, for me. I had No Clue that it wasn't connected. The lady told me, that her company had been contracted to connect the dehumidifier. After ending the phone call with the Electrical Contractor's office, I sent CK a text message, to tell him about the phone call from that lady. I let him know, that I didn't appreciate him intentionally deceiving and lying to me, Twice. The first time was in a text message before he came to my house that day, and the second time was directly to my face when he came to my house to "see how the installation was coming along and to pick up the check" for the completed installation. It's obvious, that he Only came to my home that day to pickup the check, because he Never went any further than the front door entrance of my home, and back to the driveway to get back into his car. The crawlspace door is on the opposite side of the house. I made it clear to CK, that if I had known the installation was Not completed and the dehumidifier was Not connected to electricity.... I would have Never paid OrkinTherm/Orkin every dollar of their charge to encapsulate my crawlspace and install what I was deceived into believing a working dehumidifier. By the way, CK Never replied/responded to the text message, that I sent him about the Electrical Contractor's office calling me. Noone at Orkin had the decency to tell me about the dehumidifier not being connected. I actually had to contact his Manager, Chris. Chris was able to get the problem fixed, including getting another Manager (Greg) to Inspect the completed job after the dehumidifier was electrically connected. Chris and Greg were Both Sincerely Disappointed and Practically Speechless about the entire fiasco. As I told both Chris and Greg, if I had been given any indication that I was going to be lied to and intentionally deceived by CK... I would have hired another company to encapsulate my crawlspace and install an operating dehumidifier. Believe me, a Crawlspace Encapsulation is Not cheap! The more that I replayed our previous written conversation about the cost of and paying for the Crawlspace Encapsulation and the dehumidifier... CK tried his best to convince me to pay for it in cash. That was another red flag. Finally, I would like to say "Thank You!!" to Both Orkin Managers, Chris and Greg for their Undeterred Dedication and their Extremely Loyal Commitment to Maintaining Orkin's High Quality Customer Service!!
We have been dealing with attic rats…
We have been dealing with attic rats for a couple months. Several companies have provided quotes, etc., and some have performed service. But we still have the problem. We decided to also speak to Orkin. Big mistake. The telephone rep started in with a laundry list of fees and charges without understanding our ask, and then got argumentative and belittling. What? I hung up, and a better trained "manager" called me back 15 minutes later. Smooth talked me into making an appointment, which I did, and then I promptly cancelled it. Aggravation I already have. I need service.

I called Otkin because I had an excellent experience with them several years ago. Nothing is what it used to be, right? I had a technician scheduled for 2-4. He (Lazar, or, in Orkin, “The Pro”) called to say he was running early and we agreed that would meet at 1:45. I was there at 1:45, in the rain and day after stomach flu (not their fault, but it didn’t help). Lazar doesn’t show. At 2:15 I called the main Orkin number, a service center in in a different time zone (she asked me what time it was) and she put me on hold for several minutes before returning to tell me she didnt know what was going on. Then Lazar called me to say that he had “picked up” another job and was now running late. Having sat in the rain with the remnants of flu (I know I’m repeating myself) I told him I had been there at the time we agreed on and asked why he hadn’t called me. He said - this is kind of the punchline of this review: “People don’t show up when they say they will.” No idea what that had to do with anything, either me in the rain, referenced above, but there it is.
Maybe that’s Orkin’s new motto. I could go on about Lazar ranting at me without pausing for breath, about having to call Orkin about five times and talk to a different person each time, about how they couldn’t schedule another visit for several days - but why bother? I came home and called a local company with great reviews and they’re coming tomorrow.
