Safety issues, overpriced, crap
I was issued this boot via a doctors office after surgery, and I have to say its a terrible made boot, and has serious issues associated with it. Personally would not even give this a one star I would not give it any stars at all, and if I had a choice in boots, it would be Breg all the way, I am not a stranger to feet surgeries so this boot, Ossur, is crap. The feature where you inflate the boot, is completely unnecessary, and is actually a hazard. I went to wash my boot by removing the padding, as I have done with all the other boots I’ve ever had, and the inflation device has a tube, once that tube gets any kind of water in it it starts to mold, that’s a hazard, not only a safety hazard, but a health hazard. I would never recommend these boots. Inflating a boot is not necessary, and I noticed that, there is no way to remove the tubing unless you remove the boot and tear it apart. I don’t know who thought this device up, but it’s, a health issue. When you have mold in a tubing, you get all kinds of health issues. I don’t know how this even passed FDA compliancy. Not to mention, even though I washed the boot and a very delicate cycle, it shrunk, therefore not fitting me properly, the Velcro is crap, it does not stick and it’s coming off constantly, even before washing it. If I didn’t have to have this boot right now, I’d throw it in the garbage. Another thing that annoyed me beyond measure is, my insurance was charged $500 for this boot, then I got an independent bill for $84. I saw this exact boot on Amazon for $55. That is a criminal fleecing of people. I would stay clear of this boot, as it is constructed very poorly, and the mold issue once you wash the boot insert is a hazard. It is not worth one penny.
