They'll take your money then ghost you
3 months later, and the item hasn't arrived. Hardly any response to any of my emails. I presume this is a scam.

I ordered a console table with 1-2 weeks shipping, 3 and half weeks later no item . Emailed numerous times with no response. Do not order from this company it’s terrible that they do not even bother to communicate it with you . I got my money back but only as I opened a case with PayPal
Ordered a desk on 9 March and it's arrived today - slightly later than promised but worth the wait as it's gorgeous - extremely well packaged. I do believe Sam when he said he's had problems with the website -he's been on Etsy for five years and his reviews are all fabulous

I placed an order for a £71 monitor stand with a 1 to 2 week lead time. After about 3 weeks with no updates I contacted the seller via email (as they do not have a phone number). After about another week I received a response from Tom Sergiew who apologized for the delay and reassured me that the item was going to be dispatching the following week. I replied thanking him for the updated said no problem.
I waited another week and half and the item still did not arrive and I still had no news. I emailed Tom again asking for an update. He replied and said that the item should be arriving that Saturday. I thanked him and then waited till the weekend. I purposely stayed at home that day to receive the item, but surprise surprise, it did not arrive.
I emailed Tom again and he said that the item was delayed with the courier. I replied asking him to confirm that the item had been dispatched and asked him for a tracking/shipping number. At this point, he stopped responding to my emails.
Hiding behind a company with no phone number and leading people on with promising emails and updates seems to be the way Tom works. Avoid using this company!!
Update: I have now received my refund from Outsidethebox after requesting my money back via my bank. Whether this was because I initiated the dispute via my bank or not. Either way, probably not a scam, but just someone who is not able to fulfill their orders for one reason or another.
Awful service. Placed order for desk, 2 weeks after estimated delivery date and no contact/update. Emailed and was advised it would be dispatched that week, but nothing materialised. Following week I was told it had been dispatched that day, still nothing. Further emails were then ignored. Contacted seller via Etsy (not where I placed order but just trying to make contact) - he responded immediately, but as soon as I gave him my details, he stopped responding. In end I’ve had to seek chargeback via bank, a full 2 months after placing order.

Placed an order on 23rd Feb that had a 1-2 week lead time. I'd had no updates by 10th March so contacted by email to ask when this was going to be dispatched. No reply. I then contacted via the website on 14th March and got a reply to say it had been dispatched that day supposedly on a 1 day delivery. Nothing has arrived so I emailed again to ask for a tracking number. No reply. I sent another message through the website and got a reply pretty quickly saying that they can offer a refund or arrange delivery for Monday or Tuesday, so obviously nothing was ever dispatched. I've asked for a refund but am doubtful I will get it so I'll likely have to claim back from my bank.
Update: In the end I had to raise a PayPal dispute to get my money back, but the company did at least accept the dispute straight away so I got my money back eventually
Terrible Communication
I ended up getting my money back through the bank, still in progress.
Desk and monitor stand ordered 20/12/2025, anticipated del mid Jan 2026.
At end of Jan, started chasing my order. Chased via email several times and always had to wait days before a reply which usually stated “thanks for your patience, your order will be despatched next week”
That never transpired, cycle repeated.
Ultimately I contacted my bank who initiated a chargeback for non receipt of goods. Funnily enough I got an email the next morning saying my items were despatched (so wasn’t despatched for sure, when he had said it was) on next day delivery and I’d get a tracking email from DHL. Never happened.
I emailed 2 days later asking to cancel and a full refund. Nothing!
2 days later I’ve got an email asking that as I’d started a chargeback, did I still want the desk? Not despatched then!!
The owner was very surprised, when after A LOT! of online sleuthing, I managed to find a phone number and called him. He was apologetic, told me that they’d had an electrical fault in the workshop hence the lack of comms (which I don’t buy in this day and age of hand held devices and email apps… I run two businesses so I know how it works)! He said he couldn’t despatch due to not having the money anymore due to the chargeback and that he needed to accept it on his app.
I said I’d speak to my bank, which I did, then WhatsApp’d him to say go ahead with the chargeback and he sent a screen shot to show he accepted it (it’s still not showing my end though)
Owner then went in to offer imminent delivery on a nominated day if I resent payment however I wanted, through an online order or bank transfer.
I have to say he sounded credible and very nice, but the complete lack of communication has left me reluctant to place another order.
I checked the reviews… overwhelmingly amazing. I couldn’t find any way to leave a review on his website though and they all seem to be very recent, this month, last month etc… all happy, and no one seems to be having the same issues as me.
Also when I told him who I was on the phone, he knew instantly, didn’t need to look me up on his order system!
There are no other reviews on Trustpilot… if there are so many amazing reviews, why aren’t they on Trustpilot????
I cannot recommend this company. Things happen, things go wrong, I understand that, but the lack of comms and the inaccurate info when comms did come, has left me doubting the integrity of this company and the owner.
Oh as a matter of interest, Outsidetheboxts was dissolved late last year and a new business started byt the same owner. This is public information available on Companies House!
