My VPS keeps rebooting unexpectedly.
OVH confirmed two host side outages, but for the other resets they simply told me to check my own logs and effectively closed the ticket.
I’m left with an unstable production server, no explanation, and no real solution.
Very disappointing support.

Customers taken for granted
Long-term customers should regularly check OVH prices themselves
I have been an OVH customer since 2019. I recently discovered that OVH now offers a VPS with comparable resources for a fraction of what I am still paying on my legacy VPS.
I contacted OVH support and explicitly asked why existing customers are not informed when significantly cheaper equivalent VPS ranges become available.
The response was: OVH does not inform customers about new ranges. Customers are expected to check the website themselves, purchase a new VPS and migrate everything themselves.
I understand that legacy contracts can keep their old pricing. What I find extremely disappointing is that a long-term customer can continue paying substantially more without any proactive notice that a much cheaper comparable product exists.
After being a customer since 2019, this policy has seriously damaged my trust in OVH.

VPS cancelled shortly after successful payment
Update: They have refunded the amount
Very disappointing experience with OVH.
I successfully paid for a VPS, deployed my website, and had everything working normally. Approximately 24 hours later, OVH cancelled the VPS.
The biggest issue is that my access was removed, leaving me unable to access the VPS and my website. This happened after the service had already been successfully paid for and deployed.
Losing access to a running website after payment is extremely concerning, especially when the service was functioning normally beforehand.
I hope OVH can explain why the VPS was cancelled, what happened to the data, and how customers are expected to recover their access in situations like this.
Very disappointing experience.

Paid in full, then the order was frozen for an undisclosed 48h check — and support told me no payment had been taken
I ordered and paid this morning. Two minutes later the order went into "Checking your order — an additional processing time is required. It is usually around 48 hours. Our customer support team may contact you." No email, no reason, no explanation of what was being checked or what I could provide to resolve it.
The important detail is the sequence: the payment was captured first, then the order was frozen. So I am funding a review of myself, with no service running and no stated end date. "Usually around 48 hours" is not a commitment to anything.
I opened a live chat. The advisor confirmed a verification was running and told me he could see no details about it — not the reason, not the stage, not a timeframe. So the only support channel available has no visibility into the thing blocking the order.
I then asked to cancel and be refunded. I was told that no payment had been made, that what I could see was merely a pre-authorization which expires within 9 to 14 days for PayPal, and that it can take up to 30 days regardless of payment method. This is not what happened. I have the PayPal confirmation and OVH's own order confirmation email, both showing a completed payment, and I sent the screenshots during the chat.
So the position I am left in is: money taken, nothing delivered, no timeline, no cancellation, and a support script that denies the charge exists.
If you need a server on a deadline, this is the risk you are buying. Verify before charging, or tell customers up front that new orders are held for review — either would have been fine. Doing neither, and then disputing the receipt, is not.

The pre-authorization will automatically expire after a certain period, and it be cancelled from your statement. The reserved amount will be returned to your account balance. This process typically takes 9 to 30 days.

Hab ne fehlermeldung gekriegt beim Kündigen - abgebucht wurde trotzdem. Deutscher support war nicht erreichbar, der internationale support meinte, ich soll doch bitte mit dem deutschen support reden und legt wiederholt auf und schrie mich an...
Per normalen Support ticket habe ich dann eine gutschrift auf mein kundenkonto gekriegt, keine Rückerstattung auf mein Zahlungsmittel?

Abgesehen von dem Schlechten support - Die usererfahrung ist grausam. Wie viele frontends hat ovh mittlerweile? kriegt mal bitte eure website auf die kette... Ebenfalls eure services - warum vertreibt man 3 verschiedene email dienste? warum muss das so unfassbar schlecht aussehen? bsp zimbra? Es gibt gefühlt 10 verschiedene wege einen diest zu kündigen, 3 davon funktionieren nicht... OVH muss mal dringend an deren services ansetzen, redundanzen rausnehmen, workflows streamlinen, usw. Aktuell ist das einfach ein Wilder gewachsener haufen der außerhand geraten ist.

Contacting the helpline did not solve…
Contacting the helpline did not solve the problem; in fact, it caused even more complications. Only the conversation via the online chat resulted in a solution to my issue. Unfortunately, due to a system error, I now have to wait for a refund for the service that was paid for twice.

Scam
I signed up to OHV, also because of the 200€ Free Trial offer they promoted.
After signing up I created a VM instance that was supposed to cost ~0,5€ per hour and deleted it after a few hours.
Shortly afterwards I was billed 119€ with cryptic descriptions of what I was billed for.
Even if I had purchased these services for 119€, which I haven't, I would have expected it to be deducted from my free trial offer. But no, they charged it directly from my account.
And this was all within a few days from signing up. So well within the expiration time of the free offer.
Upon reaching out to the customer service, they basically responded with "you were billed for services you purchased", without clarifying the slightest which services this may be.
An absolute scam!

I highly recommend OVHcloud services. I currently use both dedicated servers and VPS servers, and I am extremely satisfied with their performance, reliability, and overall quality.
The infrastructure is stable, the network connectivity is excellent, and the pricing is very competitive for the resources provided. The servers deliver consistent performance, and the management tools are easy to use.

Das ist der unfähigste und…
Das ist der unfähigste und inkompetenteste Schmutzverein, den es auf diesem Planeten gibt. Hier herrschen Unfähigkeit, Inkompetenz und Dummheit in einem Maße vor, für das man neue Skalen einführen müsste.
Lastschriftkonten werden grundsätzlich einfach nicht validiert oder abgelehnt, obwohl diese sogar über das Online-Banking freigeschaltet worden sind. Für mich ist das hochgradig kriminell und nichts weiter als reines Datenabgreifen.
Zudem muss man bei diesem Verein permanent in Vorkasse gehen, was kein seriöser Anbieter verlangt. Zu guter Letzt trifft man auf Support-Mitarbeiter, deren Intelligenz offensichtlich der einer Kartoffel ähnelt. Außer Textbausteinen und sinnlosen Antworten, die überhaupt nichts mit dem Problem zu tun haben, gehört dort nichts zur Tagesordnung.
Ich dachte schon, dass Kleinanzeigen der unfähigste und inkompetenteste Verein sei, aber dieser Laden hier toppt noch mal alles. Ich kann nur ganz klar, deutlich und unmissverständlich sagen: Geht nicht zu diesem kriminellen und inkompetenten Verein! Es gibt zahlreiche andere seriöse „Pay-as-you-go“-Anbieter, die ein Bankkonto akzeptieren und bei denen man am Monatsende eine Rechnung bekommt. Dieser Verein schafft das nicht.
Und wenn man dann mal eine Bestellung durchgeführt hat oder durchführen möchte, sind sie 25-mal zu unfähig, eine Datei zu lesen. Entweder ist sie zu groß, dann zu klein oder angeblich fehlerhaft. Dann gibt es wieder technische Probleme. Wer so einen Verein für seriös oder kompetent hält, ist echt verloren.

Mafia-Methoden!
Trotz Kündigung und Domain-Transfer am 1.10.2025 wurden 246€ für Domains abgebucht, die noch Monate Laufzeit hatten. PayPal-Käuferschutz versagt, OVH ignoriert Kündigung.

trotz erfolgter zahlung, keine gegenleistung: anwalt nötig.
mir wird seit vielen wochen der zugang zu meinem kundenaccount verunmöglicht, ich hatte eine zahlungsfrist versäumt, wobei das geld auf dem ovh-prepaid-account lag, zu dem ich aber keinen zugang mehr hatte. d.h. ovh selber verunmöglichte die zahlung. nach unfassbar komplizierter mail-korrespondenz u telefonie holte sich ovh das geld vom prepaid account. 0,01.- euro fehlten, erneuter kompliziertester zirkus. schlie0ßlich hatten sie das gesamte geld, trotzdem erhalte ich keinen zugang zu webmaiul u kundenaccount. auch ein mittlerweile zugezogener IT-experte kommt nicht weiter, dennnach dem log in künfigt man einen securitcode an die emailadresse des accounts an. was aber nicht erfolgt. sprich: ovh verhindert das login
das kundenservice ist unterirdisch unfähig. ich möchte nur noch weg von ovh und denke nun daran einen anwalt beizuziehen, denn es geht auch um geschäftskorrespondenz, die mir nicht mehr zugänglich ist. unfassbar.
