My experience at Passport Health Clinic…
My experience at Passport Health Clinic was unacceptable, disturbing, and deeply disappointing.
From the beginning of our visit, the female nurse’s attitude was unprofessional and hostile. Her tone and behavior made us feel judged, particularly based on our skin colour and perceived financial status. Instead of focusing on medical care, she repeatedly brought up fees and questioned whether we could afford the service. This was inappropriate, offensive, and had no place in a healthcare setting.
What made the situation far worse was that we had our 9-year-old son with us. The nurse behaved aggressively and confrontationally in front of a child, showing no empathy, sensitivity, or professionalism. We were there solely to obtain travel medicine for our child—not to be treated with disrespect or subjected to an intimidating interaction.
We took time off work and attended this appointment in good faith, expecting respectful and professional medical service. Instead, our time was wasted, and we left feeling stressed, humiliated, and disturbed by the way we were treated.
This experience has completely undermined my trust in this clinic. I will be formally filing a complaint with the Ministry of Health and escalating this matter through the highest level of the complaint system. Individuals who behave in this manner should not be placed in front-end roles, especially in healthcare, where professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and compassion are essential.
I strongly urge management to take this complaint seriously and address the conduct of staff. No family should ever be treated this way when seeking medical care for their child.
