Amazing Support - how they helped me fix my Past Indicator Clock
Bit of Backstory:
I ordered my Past Indicator Nixie Tube clock almost 3y ago (02.2022). I loved it, but after around 1y of usage, it fell and one of the tubes broke. Hence it found its way to the dark drawer and wasn't been used for another 1.5y.
Current Time:
A month ago, clearing out my space, I found it. And decided that I wanted to restore it. (If I had thought of that sooner, restoration would have been covered by the manufacturer's guarantee.) Anyway..., I wrote to the Past Indicator WA support number asking what could be done. Quite quickly they briefed me on what could be done - and I decided to fix it myself (instead of shipping the clock back to them.) The support representative told me in detail what are the necessary steps I needed to take to change the Nixie tube and sent me a link where to order a new one.
2 weeks later my new Nixie Tube arrived (I live in the EU, and it was shipped from the USA....so for you shipping times might be way quicker.) Changing Nixie Tube was as easy as unscrewing 3 screws and swapping the old tube from the connection port... And finally, after almost 2y my Past Indicator clock is working again!
But the story doesn't end there:
It turned out, that over the years, I had lost the user manual. And even had forgotten how to take the clock out of sleep mode.
Thankfully the Past Indicator support guy was clutch again. He went way above and beyond - and sent me multiple custom video tutorials showing and explaining everything. (Mind you, I wrote to him almost always past the normal working hours...so, his response timing and dedication to help me was truly refreshing.)
So, that is my experience with the Past Indicator in 2024. Overall - I love their timepieces. And it is great knowing that there are real people behind the company, who care about their clients. :)
