Kelvin helped me with a complex and frenetic problem that had a definite deadline and completion time. He was the quintessential example of customer care and support. I will extrapolate that he has had excellent training but I will also wager that he is a well brought up gentleman with a complete grasp of humanity and good manners.

AVOID FOR MOTOR TRADE INSURANCE! HORRENDOUS COSTLY EXPERIENCE.

Having been motor traders for 20 years we found ourselves with Peacock insurance which is one of our greatest regrets as from start to finish it has been nothing short of a nightmare.

As standard with motor traders policies you have a period within which you can drive a vehicle purchased for trade purposes without putting on the policy (generally when just purchased). My husband got pulled within 10
Mins of buying a vehicle when the mid database wasn’t working (evidence provided to peacock re this) hr produced his insurance at the station and peacock/ haven used a loophole aware this would put our business and licence at risk to not cover us despite having full evidence of when the vehicles was purchased etc.

This then cost us over £6k in solicitors fees.
Luckily the judge saw through haven and threw it out of court:

I raised this as a formal complaint with the FCA due to the horrendous manner within which it was dealt with by Haven and Peacock.

At this point we have lost all confidence with Peacock particularly due to the terrible support by the ‘broker’ who in communications are regularly rude.

Fast forward to this week we have 3 vehicles to put on the insurance (a new transit custom, low value Tesla and a Range Rover)

Whilst I understand the Range Rover not being permittable NONE of the above were. They then requested £887 for 6 months cover on a ford transit.

We had to chase for two days to get this figure and then felt pushed into paying for it without being given any opportunity to think about it. We advised this annualised to £1800 so would be cheaper to obtain a different policy that covered all vehicles.

After chasing for days we spoke to Usman who was the most condescending rude individual we have ever spoke to. Came back with a quote of £7000 after days and day or constant chasing. Because we didn’t immediately accept this quote he accused us of not being able to afford the policy (which we didn’t say) we just said it was too expensive considering the original policy was £3800. When we said we would consider it he then said it was probably going to be more than that but couldn’t and wouldn’t give us formal terms as we clearly wasn’t going to progress with it. Due to his reluctance and abhorrent service after it took peacock days to provide a quote we picked the phone up to Think insurance and got a quote within an hour for £5k.

The worse is yet to come!!!!!!

PEACOCK THINK IT ACCEPTABLE TO CHARGE A £1000 CANCELLATION FEE WHEN THE POLICY CLEARLY DOESNT MEET OUR NEEDS!

They are unwilling to even accept any wrongdoing quoting this is within the policy documents that they can charge there broker fee in full.

Over a £1000 cancellation fee on a £3.8k
Policy is just outrageous just because they can. No care or acknowledgement of the nightmare we have had.

If another broker can get us a quote £2k cheaper that covers all of our vehicles in an hour what we paying peacock a broker service for??? They clearly haven’t acted as a broker and have out there commissions at the forefront of whom they have placed our insurance with,

I have spoken to two competitors of Peacock today both whom in this situation would have charged no more than £150.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! How on earth they are regulated is beyond me… I am seeking urgent legal advice as to the legalities around their conduct!
