Terrible company, completely dishonest. ALso operating under GotAccountants.com and MyBookkeepers.com

tl;dr -- they didn't reconcile my books for nearly half a year even though they were getting paid, then when I called them out on it, rushed through to catch up (but left things out), and closed my account, with no refund offered.

I had simple tasks for them -- just reconcile my accounts, and occasionally answer QBO questions. It would often take them one to two months to answer the questions, and while they would eventually get there, these were questions I needed answered now, not in two months.

At some point I opened my QBO audit logs to discover that they hadn't been in for months. I challenged them on it and they lied to me that I couldn't see where they logged in, but they'd be happy to show me -- but never set up that call to "show me".

Finally I dug deeper and found that most of my accounts hadn't been reconciled in MONTHS, and I challenged them again. They ranted at me that they "will not stand for allegations of fraud!" (their word, not mine!) and would be wrapping up my books and closing my account.

They did six months work in about 90 minutes, and closed my account. In the end, I paid $3,486 for about three to five hours of actual work, and when I just sat down to reconcile on my own… found that the most complicated account hadn't been reconciled in three months. So I still have to do that one myself.

They are liars, and fraudsters. Pure and simple. Do NOT sign up with them.

Unprofessional and Deceptive – Avoid This Firm
Our experience with PleaseCleanMyBooks was a complete disaster. We hired them to set up and manage our books, expecting professional accounting services. Instead, we were met with incompetence, deception, and a complete lack of accountability.

This so-called firm is not a real team—it’s just two individuals, Albert and Cali, pretending to run a fully staffed accounting business. They assured us they had the expertise to handle our financials, but in reality, they were completely out of their depth.

After paying them $18,323, we expected proper bookkeeping and guidance. What we got instead was a mess of misclassified transactions, incorrect journal entries, and reckless handling of our financial records. Their work was nothing more than clicking through QuickBooks without any real understanding of accounting principles.

Why You Should Stay Away:
False Promises and Misrepresentation – They claimed they could handle our company’s books, but after reviewing the QuickBooks audit log, we saw that they spent very little time actually working on them.
Poor Work Quality – Basic financial entries were completely wrong. Zoom and utilities were categorized as office supplies, and essential financial obligations like tax liabilities were ignored.
Avoidance and Lack of Communication – They refused to get on Zoom calls to clarify their work and became defensive when asked basic accounting questions.
Unjustified Payment Demands – Albert pushes clients to prepay for the entire project upfront, misleading them into believing there’s a whole team working on their books. In reality, it’s just him and Cali.
False Completion Claims – After just one month of work, they claimed they had completed the entire year’s financials, even though nothing was properly categorized or reconciled. When confronted, they dismissed our concerns and told us to deal with it ourselves.

Final Warning
If you’re looking for professional bookkeeping, this is not the firm to trust. They lack the skills, knowledge, and professionalism required for anything beyond the most basic accounting. If your business is more than a simple side hustle, they will set you up for failure.

Do not prepay for more than a month if you make the mistake of trying them. You will quickly see how unqualified they are. Save your time, money, and financial records by hiring a real accounting firm.

Do NOT hire this fraudulent company!! They are professional 'scam artists'! PCMB does NOT do the work; EVER!! Their 'stall tactics' are ingenious; they raped our company for the depo$it, then continued to charge us with the monthly fees, promise to do the work, and here we are 18 months later and our work has NOT BEEN DONE! Nothing reconciled in over a YEAR! Delay tactic: we'll get you another bookkeeper and she/he will fix it. Now they are billing under a different business name, i.e., Got.accountants. The Better Business Bureau is not the place to file a complaint. They do nothing.

I have written documents verifying all of the information related below. As review length is limited I can only give you a summary of events below.
On July 22, 2021, I had a conversation with Josh Mininger regarding retaining PleaseCleanMyBooks.com in which he claimed they could complete our catch up bookkeeping in a short amount of time due to their experience. In addition, he claimed if there was time left over from any block of time it could be used in the future.
He advised us of the documents they would need including a QuickBooks online account.
On September 15, 2021, we paid PleaseCleanMyBooks.com $595.00 for a 5 hour block of historical bookkeeping for the year 2020 and 2021 to date.
Over the next 14 months we were assigned 3 different bookkeepers who were supposed to bring our books up to date. However, although each of them sent an email claiming they were reviewing the information previously provided, each of them left the company before actually doing any of the bookkeeping. Each time a bookkeeper left we were not informed that nobody was working on the books and were left to discover this ourselves when inquiring about the progress being made on our books. When the 3rd person disappeared we hired another firm to complete the books.
When we received an email from Jose Mininger on June 18, 2024, asking if our bookkeeping was under control, we replied on June 19, 2024, that as PleaseCleanMyBooks.com had failed to provide the contracted services we would like a refund of the prepaid $595.00.
We received no response.
We made a 2nd request for a refund on July 4, 2024.
On July 5, 2024, we received a response from Albert claiming PleaseCleanMyBooks.com was closed.
After investigating we determined that the business is in fact operating and continuing to take people’s $595.00 for services to be rendered.
We made a third demand for a refund on July 11, 2024.
We received a reply from an anonymous sender claiming that PleaseCleanMyBooks.com is not responsible for a refund. After emailing the anonymous sender again requesting their name we received no further communications.
Clearly, PleaseCleanMyBooks.com is not a firm with which you would desire to do business.

PleaseCleanMyBooks was able to assess my needs and provide a clear plan on how to address them.

Pedro my assigned consultant, spend a lot of upfront time to better understand my business and where and what I need to address to resolve my tax preparation issues and clean up my accounting.

Pedro & Josh were quick and easy to communicate with. Their website was safe and easy to upload documents to. I had almost 2 years of reconciliation to be done and Pedro cleaned up my books in less than 2 weeks.

My experience was very good with CleanMyBooks. They assigned a very qualified bookkeeper who listened to what I needed and accomplished it for me in a reasonable amount of time. I will use them again when needed in the future.

I have an e-commerce business selling products online. My bookkeeping/financial control was not working and Quickbooks was not helpful in getting it cleaned up. It made it to where my team and my day to day work wasn’t enough and worth it. This has happened a couple times over the years. Very frustrated and overwhelming!

Fortunately my friend and business owner recommended PCMB and I have used the Service before and they have been very helpful. I have been happy with their service before, but honestly, since the company has come under new management THEY ARE ON TOP OF THINGS! The Service Director has been responsive to all my concerns fast, and the bookkeepers communicate and get the job done on time.

I also want to add that many times I feel they’ll quit on me for my lack of responsibility in answering their questions in a timely manner (please don’t do this to your own business as I can assure you that it only creates headaches for you). I am so thankful with their Service, and with my bookkeeper (Jenn) that I wanted to put in my personal experiences here. Thank you for assisting me with my business! I have a rug company, working all hours, including weekends. I had no time to get my books together, or track the health of my company. I could not see the numbers, and had no idea where I stood. I also did not have a lot of time to sit down and devote to this, so it was a losing situation. I needed someone who could run my books, but honestly did not want to add the office staff at this stage of my business. This company consulted me on the process, let me know the reality of what was needed in order to get an accurate financial picture, and how the process would go. They told me it was going to take some time up front, and explained the hurtles we were going to have to jump. The bookkeeper I worked with, Jenn, was professional and let me know what was needed from me, and was also not afraid to tell me when I needed to stay on the ball and give her what she was requesting to get my project done, lol! The process may not have been seemless (in my opinion, nothing ever is) but the reason I give it 5 stars is because I have worked with other individuals and companies in trying to handle this, and NO ONE ELSE has a system figured out for how to get a project done involving cleaning up someone elses mess. The process of cleaning up your books can be confusing, and frustrating, but they stuck with me till it was done, and I am appreciative of that. All in all, I love the service and would recommend. If you think the big corporations can do better (like QuickBooks) I would HIGHLY doubt that, and would tell you to give these guys a chance.

Total Scam!! It has been over a year dealing with this "company" (If you want to call it that because really he just subs out the work to other people who don't have working phones half the time) and I still have no resolution. There will be months that go by where I don't hear a word and can't get the "accountant" on the phone to clarify the issue. She misunderstood the issue and then I even paid for more time (wishful thinking she would finally get it done if I paid more) and still nothing. Total joke! I really think it's a scam.

I have only been working with Heather O. since the beginning of the summer but have been so impressed. She is up on everything bookkeeping and best of all, she can explain it to me in ways I can grasp.

I learned more from her in one day on one issue than I had learned in several years of keeping books. They are completely above board and you can submit your books to the IRS if requested with full confidence. I appreciate that when I run my reports, I get a clear and accurate picture of my business revenues and expenditures. I have had other bookkeeping services that fail in comparison to the competency of the pleasecleanmybooks.com staff and the numerous service options this company provides. Jenn has been my point person for the last 3 years and she is a tremendous talent. She is also personality plus and doesn’t inflate the hours for her work. My CPA loves Jenn because my books are clean (NOT COOKED,) every transaction is accounted for and I find comfort that my business is prepared for an audit at anytime.

I needed last minute help with a specialty type of bookkeeping: MTM, Trader Tax Status. Although the bookkeeper did not have experience with this industry, he dug in, figured it, and presented a great set of 2021 books to me! I also liked the way the management checked in with me during the two week process. They really wanted to make sure I was happy. I will definitely use them again AND I have been recommending them to all my friends!

Do not hire them. All was good until I would say the past month, when they just disappeared and stopped communicating. Tried calling them, and number goes to a cell phone voice mail. I will be disputing credit card charge if I don’t hear from them.
