This was a Christmas gift for my little brother.
I tried to contact polariod through their website twice with no response.
Do not waste your money.
2/2 faulty items indicates poor construction/ quality to me! One was bought online and the other instore so unlikely the same batch.
Im going to order a cheap non branded product for a third of the price.

Can't fault them . Issue with pen that was brought for Christmas within 7 days a new pen sent out. Excellent service

Our pen did not work I emailed the company and they quickly responded and resolved the problem by send us out a replacement pen

I purchased 2 3D Play+ pens from a well known retailer but they didn't work properly, tried everything and made contact with Polaroid over the Xmas period who have been fantastic from start to finish, they sent 2 new pens that work perfectly and I've just sent back the faulty ones.
Genuinely impressed and would highly recommend contacting them should you have any issues with their products.

Bought a PlaySmart 3D printer and after only 2 months it’s a fire hazard. It came with a blocked nozzle installed so was clearly not brand new. I suspect it was a customer return. After only a few small prints the replaced nozzle leaked and oozed plastic all inside the printhead. The burning smell was immense and smoke was coming from the unit. Polaroid support said it wasn’t a mechanical issue and therefore not covered by warranty. They said they could sell me a replacement printhead but would not explain how I was expected to replace it myself considering there are no visible screws to remove it. £200 down the drain.

We bought a Play+ 3D pen bundle at a craft fair for our daughter - she had fun with it for a couple of days but then it just stopped working. As this was a present and she was making a project for school, we immediately bought another one online with next-day delivery so she could continue with the project while we returned the original for a refund.
Polaroid have made this insanely difficult. First, we had to send them a video of the pen not working - OK, fair enough, we did that. They accepted it was faulty but insisted there would be no refund, only a replacement. We pointed out that a replacement is no use to us as we'd already bought a replacement, so they really weren't losing out by refunding us, but again the response was "no refunds".
We pointed out the legal right to a refund for faulty goods and they replied saying as a "gesture of goodwill" they'd refund HALF the purchase price, and even then only if we sent the faulty item back to them - at our expense!
We're on the verge of just giving up as it's just not worth the hassle - but I guess that's exactly what they are hoping for.
I'd hoped that by buying from a major brand rather than a cheap knock-off version from China we'd get better customer service. I was obviously wrong.

Bought the polaroid 3d candy pen for my daughter. The idea seems great, in actual fact it is such a farce using it. Dribbles out of the nozzle (not like on the videos where it runs nice, fast and smooth. Its such a task to clean it, everytime it uses 1 cartridge ive gotta take the pen apart to screw the cartridge pusher back up. 30 mins to create a small shape, just buy a bag of sweets from the shop and save yourself some money

Well my partner threw away my cable to my 3d pen and iv been looking for it for days after asking him he comfurmed that he thew it away........ 1 augment later I find my self scrolling through Google trying to find someone selling one.. I failed. So I tried to reach out to u guys about it and the result is amazing! U guys emailed back so fast and with so much help. It got sorted with great ease. I will recommend ur products to everyone.

Although we had a faulty devise, it was replaced quickly and you can’t deny that it’s a good gadget, mixing tech and creativity with no mess! Fab for early teens.

Exceptional service, felt like I was going to be dismissed as my need was quite bespoke and related to an older product - but they were very helpful and I have to say they went above and beyond..
Hopefully this was not a one off ..

let me answer in phases.
Fillable Unit.
When empty it displayed about 780 grams. When loaded the fillable holder it showed out-0 The Youtube movie, manual and FAQ was no help. After a lot of sets en resets it came to the right weight.
PLAYSmart
After downloading the app and connecting to the printer the app displayed No Sd or USB although separate inserted and tested.
When using a file from the library it often (not always) displayed file too long.
When pushed the camera button, on screen select printer, it came in an infinite loop.
Using the menu on the 3D printer SD en USB is accepted and no message about file too long.
Printing.
The first object printed acceptable and the second and further objects went bad.
Printing a great object the prints are warped and piling up around the platform. Using brim did not help.The PLA material doesn't attach firmly and permanently to the platform.
Cleaning as mentioned in the manual does not help
Installation and start.
The enclosed Only Quick Start Reference suggests that it is a kind of plug and play installation. Forget it.
On the guide is no indication where to find the manuals, help or FAQ.
This is my first experience with the Polaroid PlaySmart.
