Poor food quality and repeated deflection of responsibility (East Ham branch via Uber Eats)

I ordered from Popeyes East Ham via Uber Eats around 11:30am, including 6 mild tenders, 6 wings, large fries, and mac & cheese.

The tenders and mac & cheese were good, but the wings and fries were very disappointing. The wings were mostly very small, dry, and inconsistent in quality, and the fries tasted old and not freshly prepared. Overall, the food quality and portion size did not reflect reasonable expectations for the price paid.

What made the experience worse was the handling of the complaint afterwards. I contacted Popeyes UK customer support to raise concerns about food quality and preparation. Instead of addressing the issue or escalating it internally, the response repeatedly redirected me to Uber Eats on the basis of “merchant of record” and payment processing.

While Uber Eats handles payment and delivery logistics, the food itself is prepared, portioned, and packaged by the restaurant. My concern was specifically about food quality and consistency at the East Ham branch, not payment or delivery issues.

Despite providing photos and order details, no internal review, escalation to management, or acknowledgement of the food quality concerns was offered.

Overall, this experience felt inconsistent with the standards expected from the brand, especially compared to other Popeyes locations where food quality has been significantly better.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to review operational standards at this branch.

Was served by Kiran at the Coventry…

Was served by Kiran at the Coventry branch. When I entered I couldn’t find my item on the self serve screens so went to the till and Kiran was most helpful in aiding me get what I wanted and provided excellent customer service and was so efficient too. I can’t praise her enough and will definitely be returning and would recommend this branch

I took my children to the Llanelli…

I took my children to the Llanelli branch on Tuesday evening for a take out. A lot of delivery drivers there and not enough staff serving. We ordered on the self serve and spent £46, which I thought was very expensive. There was only one person in front of us and we waited for over 25 minutes.

We opened the food and every meal was mixed up in each other’s boxes, not one meal was right and that was disappointing.

The food was poor and KFC is better by a mile. I don’t recommend the one in Llanelli, the staff were cleaning the floor when there were customers, they should’ve served us first because honestly we waited ages.

I just couldn’t get over the price at the end, I would have rather gone out for a meal instead of buying that cr**, lesson learned.

Irritating Ad on Soundcloud

I had some nice coffee in the morning on my way to work, feeling energised and listening to good music on SoundCloud, only to hear the Popeyes App advert on SoundCloud several times in a row, with a man yawning when the ad starts. Such an irritating advert. It instantly kills the vibe. I never want to hear about the Popeyes App again. Now don’t event want to listen to music on SoundCloud, for that matter

Giving 1 as cannot give lower

Giving 1 as cannot give lower. Had a really nasty fall outside their Croydon branch due to their incompetence and after a farcical exchange of emails through their customer service email address (astoundingly the only one they have) and a few phonecalls with their "Risk Officer", 3 months later I am told all they could offer me was vouchers to eat there. Will be raising a personal injury claim and wipe the floor with them! No wonder they are closing branches all over the place and going into administration if Head Office cannot even function in a professional manner!

One star is too much

So having visited the branch in Thurrock (absolutely excellent experience on every visit), me and the Mrs decided to visit the newly opened Beckton breach seeing that we were out shopping. So here goes our experience:

We ordered 2 boxed meals with a side of spicy tenders. We went for table service. Waited 15 mins to find that only 1 box was bought over and 2 empty cups for the drinks.

Having showed the assistant my receipt, she went to the counter and cane back 5 mins later to tell me that they had ran out of wings and placed a burger in front of me. Having asked her where my fries were, she told me that the order only had an extra burger. I told her to look at my receipt (I had given her), she told me that she had not have it so obviously that she had misplaced it.

My wife went over to the counter and waited another 20 mins for the wings, my side of fries which were supposed to be large as that's what I paid for.

What she got was a small card board box with 15 fries and the tub was drenched in spicy sauce and topped with 6 jalapeno peppers. Having queried the size of the meal with the individual behind the counter, they confirmed that the large size was correct.

My wife asked for some tissues and got 2 hand wipes in return.

Although we finished our meals, but in comparison to the Thurrock branch, this branch needs to get it's mojo in gear imho as it was not even busy. If you cannot provide a good service with your orders, then no point in working in a kitchen environment.

Even 1 star is too much in this case and I will not be visiting this branch again.

For anyone else out there, hope you don't experience what me and my wife have.

Adiós Beckton Popeye's. Will stick with KFC across the park next time at they never fail.

Terrible place

Ordered 6 boneless chicken and a latte from East Kilbride store - waited 40 minutes , people came in and got meals after me - apparently ordering a coffee is an issue for them not to mention the state of the place bins over flowing rubbish all over the floor - absolutely horrendous and I won’t be back

Really surprised that the basics were not available where you…

Supposed to be a restaurant where you can eat inside.
I ordered and I couldn’t use any of the toilets facilities, male, female or disability toilets Hand washing before touching eating our food is clearly not a priority otherwise I should have been informed or the lock would have been fixed as a priority. The lock is broken is what is said unapologetically of course.
Eltham has options so my family and I will be in no rush to come back.

Nothing special with the food for the…

Nothing special with the food for the price. Environment is new until new, looks like they have too many staff, 2-3 people always standing in the middle and watching everybody, doing nothing. Then one staff came to ask to leave a review at the beginning of the meal.

Average would be highest to give at this point.

Stay clear of beckton branch. Opened today and I had the deluxe chicken burger on arrival. I ate some only to realise it was raw! I showed a member of staff who agreed it was infact raw.
I felt so unwell I then spoke with a manager who looked at my photo not the actual burger and told me it was not raw started laughing to other members of staff inside and outside of the store!

I will not be retuning and would not recommend unless you whant bad customer service and raw food!

Further more no toilets could be found in branch!

I visited the Newport, Gwent restaurant today, and made a substantial order for takeaway food, to the sum of £55.16p. The restaurant was not busy, yet we waited for over 25 minutes for our food to be prepared. When the food finally arrived, we received our drinks cups, and attempted to fill up on the Coca Cola we ordered. Unfortunately, there was only one of the two drinks dispensers working. After waiting for a further 10 minutes in the queue, and tried to dispense our Coca Cola, the machine malfunctioned. I was deeply disappointed at the time we waited for our food, and complained to a staff member. We were told that they were short staffed, and were waiting for the biscuits we ordered to cook. I queried why they didn`t wait for the biscuits to cook before finishing the balance of the order, as most of the rest of the food was cold by the time the order was given to us. I was offered no acceptable reason for the delay, and lack of a drinks order, and by the time we arrived home, all of the food was cold. I find this situation to be completely unacceptable, and my order of over £55 was a complete waste of money, as the food was inedible. I raised a complaint with the head office and was offered a £15 voucher to visit again!
When I responded I was told that a £15 voucher was the maximum they could offer as a company policy.
Further efforts to seek reasonable compensation were met with obvious AI responses, that tells me all I need to know about how seriously Popeyes takes customer service. Do not use this restaurant, as the service, the food and the customer service are appalling!

Popeye's Ealing Broadway

I’ve been a customer since the day this place opened, and it’s really disappointing that I have to keep addressing something as basic as properly cooked chicken. This isn’t a one-off mistake — it has happened several times over since it's opened, and again today. The chicken tenders I received were undercooked and clearly needed at least another minute of cooking.

Every time this happens, the staff apologize, but nothing changes. It shouldn’t be a repeated issue, especially when undercooked chicken can cause serious health problems. As a loyal customer, it’s worrying to feel like food safety isn’t being taken seriously here.

You never hear of places like McDonald’s serving undercooked food, so it’s frustrating that this continues to be a problem. Something really needs to be done to address this, because customers shouldn’t have to worry about whether their meal is safe to eat.

This is the Ealing Broadway Popeye's.

Popeyes is crap

Popeyes is crap, 1 star is a generous rating. If u read this review and still go to order food then ur a fool. The food is so undercooked i think my freezer has more cooked chicken in there. It gave me food poisioning.

Used the drive through service

Used the drive through service, took money, but no email confirmation.
Still waiting for a refund.
Only got for my child in the end, as they have never tried it.
Fries cold and hard and the burger was cold hard.
Never going again.

So much better

Popeyes is soooooo worth it, I swear.
The chicken absolutely destroys KFC. no competition at all.

And the chicken balls? Oh my days. I practically drain every last bit of flavour out of them. The meat is so moist it just melts in your mouth 🤤🤤

And don’t even get me started on the mayo… that moment it splatters everywhere on the second bite? Iconic. Chaotic. Beautiful. Hehe.

Honestly, 10/10. Popeyes has my whole heart. 😁
