I am both a customer and a victim of…

I am both a customer and a victim of repeated unwanted emails from ActiveCampaign — and this situation has been ongoing for over 5 weeks.

Despite:
- Multiple unsubscribe attempts
- Explicit written requests to stop all emails
- Direct exchanges with their support team
- Confirmations from their side that I was “successfully removed”

=> I am STILL receiving their emails.

Even worse:
- The unsubscribe link confirms that I am already unsubscribed
- Their support keeps asking me to repeat basic steps I have already done multiple times
- I provided full technical email headers proving the emails are sent directly by their own infrastructure
Yet they continue to deflect responsibility or send irrelevant automated responses

At this point, this is no longer a “technical issue” — this is either:
- a serious failure in their system
- or a complete lack of control over their own platform

Both are extremely concerning for a company whose core business is email marketing and GDPR compliance.

Let me be very clear:
If ActiveCampaign cannot even guarantee proper unsubscribe handling for its own emails, how can their clients trust that their campaigns are compliant?

This raises a major risk:
Their users may believe they are GDPR compliant while their emails continue to be sent against recipients’ consent.

As of today:
- The issue is still unresolved
- Support responses are repetitive and ineffective
- No concrete action has been taken despite weeks of escalation

This is unacceptable.

I strongly advise anyone relying on this platform to question the reliability of their compliance mechanisms.

Because if this can happen at their level, it can happen to you.

From nightmare deliverability to 100% inbox — in one switch

We used SendGrid for 6 months and it was a constant headache. Our welcome emails, order confirmations, and even password reset emails were either landing in spam or getting outright blocked by Hotmail. Our clients were frustrated, and so were we. SendGrid's only solution? Purchase a dedicated IP for $30 USD/month on top of our API costs — completely unreasonable for roughly 1,000 emails a month.
After some research, we discovered Postmark and decided to give it a try. Within 3 days, every single email we sent landed directly in the inbox — 100% deliverability. For $15/month (cheaper than SendGrid), the quality is on another level.
Yes, Postmark is strict about commercial/bulk emails, but that's exactly the point. By keeping spammers off the platform, they protect deliverability for legitimate senders like us who rely on shared IPs. That strictness is a feature, not a limitation.
The API migration from SendGrid was straightforward — minimal code changes on our backend. If you're a small business struggling with email deliverability, do yourself a favour and switch to Postmark. It's been a game changer.

Very fast approval

I have tried using MailJet and AmazonSES before postmark and the customer service is very slow.
I set up postmark and got my domain approved to send email on the same day. Customer service is amazing.

Brutal shutdown

Brutal shutdown, zero dialogue

Postmark shut down our entire account after a single B2B broadcast sent via their own Broadcast server, despite the recipient origin being clearly explained at signup.

Worst part: transactional emails were blocked as well, instantly breaking our SaaS for paying customers.
No warning. No discussion. No separation between broadcast and transactional streams.

If you run a European B2B SaaS and need reliable transactional delivery, be aware: Postmark applies a zero-tolerance, US-centric policy that can shut down your service overnight.

Refunded, yes. Trusted again, never.

Some problems

I moved over to Postmark as I had read it was a great service. I only use it for transactional mail. It's really difficult trying to categorise receivers – you can use tags or meta data, but this all has to be done in the email headers via the API. Why can't it be done in the app? You can't section off groups of people within the app itself and that causes problems for me. Additionally. I've had to stop all click tracking as the Postmark click tracking domain failed last year and all my emails were just hanging in the air. I didn't realise at first and my users were saying they couldn't access the website. The website was online and it wasn't until later that I realised what the problem actually was. So without click tracking I have a lot less overview of what's going on with my emails. I'm going looking to move away fmor Postmark but it takes so long setting everything up. I just don't have time right now.

If you want to sign up for their…

If you want to sign up for their service, you have to endure a lengthy interrogation process and "manual review" while their AI system and customer support reps debate whether or not your company is "worthy" enough to use their service. Expect to have to submit screenshots, demos of users using your app, the finalized registration flow, the detailed steps contacts must follow to opt-in, testimonials, letters of recommendation, high school transcripts, a birth certificate, and everything else you could imagine under the sun! It's strange how other mail providers have high quality IPs without the same onerous requirements. Not worth it whatsoever

Idiotic chatbot and no support

Idiotic chatbot. Our emails were accepted by their SMTP but didnt show in the panel. Also were not delivered. Instead of haveing a person talking to us they employ some cretin LLM that wants everything but a kitchen sink before MAYBE contact us with human operator. We went with mailjet. This crap work until it works. But when it fails, you are done. Good luck having anyone help you while your company goes down. IN-FUR-IA-TING

Don’t come close to this company.

Don’t come close to this company.. they promise 24h for account review approval but you keep waiting and waiting!! I’ve sent them countless tickets to support and sales but no one cares.. like a blackhole! If they treat new customers like that, then how will they treat existing ones!

Update: After 3 days, they replied:

We reviewed your account and based on the information you gave us, it doesn’t look like Postmark will be a good fit for your sending needs at this time

They refused my account to send otp and order confirmation while this is what they claim they are about!! They just waste our precious time and decide on our behalf!!Such an ego and horrible attitude!! No one discussed with me, no reason given, nothing, just ann arbitrary decision!

Postmark used to be amazing... RIP Postmark

Postmark used to be amazing before it was bought by ActiveCampaign. I used to recommend it to all my friends, colleagues and clients. I no longer do.

I have lost so many emails due to sneaky changes in their pricing tier without proper notice and extremely poor customer service. While they used to care about the customer more than anything and attempted to help you in any way possible, they've now become soulless, uncaring and unapologetic and spew the same AI-generated corporate jargon as the next company. Or they ignore your support requests entirely.

RIP Postmark.

Beware - Takes Forever to Get "Approval"

I wasted an entire week waiting on account approval just to send emails and it is still not resolved. I have a new website and my initial approval was not accepted until I sent them my beta test stie for 'manual' review. Reviews only happen M-F during business hours and customer support responses are slow if you get a response. They 'promise' a 24-hour review period, which is not how they actually deliver.

We currently use Sendgrid

We currently use Sendgrid. Spent 2 hours early one Saturday morning (yes, personal time) reading reviews of options and the review of Postmark on the Postmark site. Registered for an account, provided credit card details, went through setup for 3 domains, DNS settings, etc. Then I get an email from Postmark: "We reviewed your account and based on the information you gave us, it doesn’t look like Postmark will be a good fit for your sending needs at this time. We have paused your account, so you won’t be able to send or receive any new messages."
So they suck..... stick with Sendgrid or anyone but Postmark.

They promised to secure their service…

They promised to secure their service with whitelist IP 12 months ago, claimed it was coming soon.
Then my account got compromised and the API key exposed, subsequently 12000 phishing emails were sent from the account.
I asked again about the whitelisting of ip's, limiting max amount of email daily, other security preventative measures they have available but nothing is yet available. Not even a log in log to see wether one of the 2 users accounts with 2FA enables were compromised. and their customer support team mentioned that even though security measures were coming nothing was available yet. And that due to their low security features they disabled my account and denied any further service.

What a terrible way to deal with a security breach.
I regret entrusting my business to this company.

Product cannot be trusted - fails silently

Blocked my account, did not tell me, did not give any visible indication, and didn't give an error code. Emails were failing silently. I spent time trying to debug. They have reinstated my account but will not refund the credits I used when trying to debug. Posting this in case anyone else is struggling with silent failures with Postmark they can get this comment on Google.

Not keen on the silent treatment

I have been using these guys for the best part of a decade and until recently they have been great. Support fast and responsive, delivery second to none. Until now - since active campaign acquired them.

Now I have system where delivery rates have dropped and there seems to be no one picking up support. I have sent emails, used support forms (the wonderful chat system has gone) and even tried tweets... But nothing... Tumble weeds ... Silence. Prices are also increasing which in itself would be ok if there was the appearance of someone working there to assist.

So, I am wondering what to do. Do I bail out? Since my customers are complaining, the radio silencevfrom active campaign is likely to force my arm very soon. If you had asked me 8 months ago would I recommend them, I would say absolutely. Now I would suggest staying clear.

Fake designer shoes

I bought some shoes reve caovilla , I suspect they where fake I contact the team and they told me it was real , I went to the store and they told me it was so fake ! This was their answer , they pretty much laught at my face ! And I just lost 600 dollars ! This was their answer! Not cool this it’s a scam company ! My friend got Loro piano and they are fake too ! They don’t have qualify personal , either specialist to check for cases like this once they mess up ! You pretty much lost your money

I have used and recommended Postmark…

I have used and recommended Postmark for years in various companies due to their excellent support and delivery service. However, things have changed since ActiveCampaign took over. As I feared, the deliverability and support quality have declined. After weeks of waiting for them to address a deliverability issue that their so-called monitoring system failed to detect—similar to the problems I experienced with ActiveCampaign—the support team took days to respond, often providing more questions than answers. This pattern continued for weeks until I pointed them to the underlying issue. Unfortunately, the problem remains unresolved, and I no longer consider this company trustworthy for email delivery, and definitely not worth the premium price they ask for it. They have successfully merged with ActiveCampaign and adopted the low-performance culture that has come to characterize them.

Account Suspended For 13 Days!

I've been using PostMark for years and it has been great until now. I noticed another 1-star review talking about how their account was "temporarily suspended" and I had the same thing happen to me. PostMark suspended my account and notified me. No big deal, I responded that the emails that were being sent that were bouncing were the result of a security scan (security audit) that I had started. I requested them to go ahead and reactivate the account as that activity was not malicious. Support replied and said your account is now active...except they actually didn't reactivate my account. I went 13 days with no emails and found out by a client notifying me.

I reached out to support, and they said, you account is now reactivated with no acknowledgement of the fact the account had been suspended for almost 2 weeks. Then, I started receiving emails from the past day (the ones in queue), but did not get emails for the rest of that time period that the account was suspended. I am a paying customer and their support is very slow and only via email. So far, I've paid for a month of service by which I didn't receive 13 days worth of service and now am playing damage control with hosting clients that were not receiving leads through their websites.

I understand that mistakes happen, but the way that they handled the situation thus far is why I am giving them a 2 star review.
