Prompt was recommended on a Road2College webinar. I thought that we could use an unbiased intermediary between my child and us (their dad and me) to brainstorm with them and then critique their drafts, so we set up an initial meeting with Prompt, giving them our desired completion date for essays and emphasizing that we needed our child to have deadlines, that we needed their voice to shine through without being subjected to heavy-handed editing that could cross ethical lines. We also wanted a coach skilled in working with teens applying to elite colleges.
That is precisely what we received with the Prompt coach! All work was my child's own, written in their own voice and when suggestions were made, this was done to inspire, rather than to do the work for them.

I am writing this review so there will be no other high school student who will miss the opportunity of going to the best college in their potential due to a terrible essay. Spoke to the staff who explained how it worked and the beginning was smooth. It appeared to be well structured with good on boarding service. The essay revisions that my son received were terrible!!!! Despite multiple revisions, the coach could not guide him in developing the content in a coherent way (mainly grammar). My son did not realize until he submitted one of the common applications and the day before the UC applications. We had to rush to find someone to help him with UC PIQs at the last minute (2hrs of help for $120 was better than multiple sessions provided by his prompt coach. Had paid $2000!). My son worked hard during high school with GPA of 4.8 with various extracurricular activities. I feel like he wasted so much time and more importantly the opportunity to have the best chance at college application. College application process is stressful enough and now he is even more stressed as he needs to work on his main essay all over again during the final week. I was told that the leadership was reviewing all the essays and was going to reach me but no phone call after 2 wks. I do not recommend this essay service to anyone based on our experience.

We found that the tutor paired with our son was excellent, they worked quickly on feedback and instilled confidence in his work. That was the goal, for our son to trust himself and the guidance did exactly that. Great job Prompt, thank you!

My advisor gave me great pointers to help me improve my essay and always gave it shortly after I submitted my drafts.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I appreciated the onboarding meeting, where the entire process was detailed for us. When I had problems setting up my account, Prompt was very helpful and quick to answer my questions. When it came time to help my daughter with her personal statement, Prompt kept her on track and always provided feedback on her essay within a day or two. This kept the entire process moving smoothly and steadily. My daughter is very happy with the final version of her essay.

I did the Personal Statement package from Prompt, and it was really helpful. The package gave a lot of feedback about my writing, which allowed me to finish my Personal Statement. The feedback I got has helped me in writing other college application essays as well. For the price, the Personal Statement package is excellent. I highly recommend it.

When we purchased MyPrompt our understanding was that essays would be returned within 48 hours. Indeed, the published materials we received explicitly state the roles and responsibilities of the Writing Coach include: “Provides extensive written feedback on essays within 48 hours.” After five submissions not one has come back within that time frame. The first time this happened I had to reach out to the Student Success Manager myself. I was told they have an average of 48 working hour turnaround time and sometimes things happen that might extend that timeline. If that does they are supposed to “reach out to the student ASAP to offer them the option….for one of our mentor coaches to review instead.” This didn’t happened because our Student Success Manager was out for three days so “wasn’t able to check on the status of the essay.” After expressing frustration, I was told arrangements had been made “to make sure this doesn’t happen again for you or any student.” The first draft was submitted on the 9th and feedback was received on the 14th. The next draft also wasn’t received within 48 hours and when I reached out, I was told the coaches “only take one day off in a row, and your coach’s day was the 20th, so the 48 working hour turnaround goal look like it is on track to being met.” Fast forward to more submissions not received within the promised time frame and different explanations as to why this was. This week it was finally communicated to me that 48 hours is “not guaranteed.” In fact, this week “all coaches are averaging about 4 days for their turnaround times.” Upon additional communication I told her that having had this clearly communicated the first time it happened would have saved us much time and frustration trying to chase down something that we were not going to get. I suggested their published material be changed and was told by our Student Success Manager that she “totally agreed” and would reach out to the CEO to make this more clear. I thanked her and requested to talk with the CEO to discuss our situation. I also directly emailed the CEO. As of yet, I have not been contacted. This situation has created a great deal of stress, lost time for me as a parent to trying to get what we were promised and a lot of lost time for our daughter who has been very diligent about planning ahead to make time for revisions. Instead of staying on track she is having to sit waiting for drafts that comes back after the days she has scheduled to work on them and when she has to work or has an extracurricular activity. Although we are very pleased with our Writing Coach and the feedback we have gotten (we would give Leigh 5 stars) we are extremely frustrated with not getting the product we purchased, the added stress this has caused us and the lack of response to my requests to discuss our situation. I will come back and revise my rating should things change.

REVISED: I got a call from Brad the CEO and he expalined to me that the information that was communicated to me was sent in error and was outdated. He was very apologetic about the situation and stress that it cuased and was more than willing to make approriate concessions. We are satisfied with the resolution and now that we know the 48 hour turn around time is more of an average we have been better able to plan. Again, the feedback we have been getting on the essays has been invaluable!

I was worried when we had to change coaches a few times through the process, but Prompts made the changes seamless. My son always seem paired with coach who was perfect for him. He had 6 essays to write (one was a total surprise and last minute because it only applied to his major). He got into all 5 schools he applied to including a reach and a totaly out of reach! Amazing! Would definitely recommend!

I had a lot of colleges to apply to (17 in total). Prompt was great as an external motivator to keep everything on an organized timeline and ensure I didn't miss deadlines nor rush anything! Though I had a lot of nitpicky questions, my coach, Isa, got back to me quickly in her feedback and gave both personal and professional advice given her experienced background. As a coach, she was not only super easy to work with (she's very sweet), she was also super structured so that I made the most out of my coaching call time together.
And if I had any questions, I felt no hesitancy to reach out to my advisors (Danielle and Chezy) for help. It felt more like I was asking for advice rather than a service. Communications felt personalized and not like automated, robotic-like responses. I got into many of my top choices, and I will be attending Brown University this fall.

The service was quick and and responsive, even during the last few crunch days before the deadline.

Niki, sales manager, was very helpful, flexible and accommodating. Chezy, my child's student success manager, guided her during entire essay writing process. Her two main writing coaches gave excellent feedback. We are still waiting to hear back from a handful of colleges, but so far, she was accepted into two highly selective universities with merit (1/4 tuition and full tuition, respectively), full tuition at a selective college and acceptance into two selective honors programs. We are still waiting to hear back about more scholarships. Prompt helped with college essays, institutional program and scholarship essays. They are great!

Our daughter used Prompt for 1-on-1 coaching for the University of California Personal Insight Questions and it was a great experience. Prompt provides an application advisor in additon to internet tools to help keep you on track and on schedule. The writing coach guided our daughter throughout the essay writing process and produced a polished final product.

Prompt was great, real professionals at what they do. They know the stories and tone colleges are looking for students to share. Consultants were helpful in guiding my son in a positive manner and always provided detailed feedback. I highly recommend working with them. Only thing was for some reason, they switched consultants on us a few essays in the process. Initially concerned, it turned out both consultants were amazing to work with!

I found Prompt extremely helpful with my college application essays last fall. They had me tell them about my interests and experiences, so my coaches had good ideas for my essay topics. Still, I always felt like my input was well respected and important, and the coaches' feedback was very helpful while accommodating my writing style. They were very supportive and set realistic deadlines for my drafts that motivated me and kept me on track.

Jackie was very approachable. My daughter’s essays were turned from good to excellent.
My daughter enjoyed her coaching sessions with Jackie & will miss their chats, going forward.
Jackie was professional, approachable, understanding, willing to listen and a lovely person. She was also very quick to go out of her way when things weren’t quite right with the first adviser which really helped. Prompt is also a very personal journey - Jackie was able to see our daughter’s strengths- which was invaluable in her writing excellent essays.

Prompt has been really, really helpful in terms of taking off some stress from college applications. Talking with my reviewer, organizing ideas, and feedback helped take off some responsibility on me since I had something to keep me moving forward!
My reviewers comments were very helpful and set me up for the next draft on my own to think about what changes I should make. Coaching calls were really helpful. I also noticed a difference between supplements I wrote on my own versus those I wrote with my reviewer, illustrating how helpful they were in the entirety of the writing process (brainstorming, outlining, drafting, iterating revising, finalizing)!

The company was very communicative and prompt with feedback. The coach was wonderful to work with and had an amazing and friendly approach. We received very prompt edits and suggestions to improve.

Prompt has helped me get into my top school. It was so easy to contact someone to create a meeting with my instructor. The website format was very easy to navigate. The review timing was great and super fast. I believe that my instructor was very helpful in each step of the process. Even if I had a question, someone was always answering quickly. I had the most amazing experience working with Prompt. My writing coach, Jackie, really helped me to improve my writing and I felt more confident in writing US admissions essays as an international student.
She always gave me detailed feedback and we worked to a timeline that worked for me as well as college deadlines.

Before prompt I was really stressed with where to start, but my coach really helped me navigate through this process. It was an awesome experience and my coach really helped me craft a theme throughout my essays. I really appreciate my coach for the MIT essays, I was really stressed with these essays but my coach helped me brainstormed a lot more for me to write about these essays.
