The General Proofreading (GP) course was more than what I expected after watching the free intro video. I learned (or relearned) a concept in every lesson, and if I felt I needed further information on a subject, plenty of resources were provided for further research on my own.

This process got me ready for the realities of working as a proofreader. At first, I thought learning grammar was all it took. I soon realized the need for adapting to each new project preferences, the ever-changing grammar and punctuation rules, and so much more.

The course is never unrealistic. It doesn't promise you a big payday, but it DOES promise results if you put in the hard work and dedication it takes to run your own business and hone a skill.

Whenever I emailed with questions or couldn't get a link to work, the Proofread Anywhere staff would get back to me in a timely manner with my question answered or with the issues fixed.

I have just recently graduated the GP course and am just starting to do paid work. Thank you so much for the motivation, resources, and knowledge to begin to thrive in a proofreading business.

I totally enjoyed the course with Proofread Anywhere. It is a serious course, super informative, and educational. I learned so much more about English grammar, punctuation, and the rules and guidelines for effective proofreading.
The course also includes lots of practice that was invaluable. It also helps the freelancer to set up their own proofreading service, with recommended tools and advice.
I highly recommend this course for anyone that is serious about becoming a proofreader. This course is well worth the time, effort, and expense.

Overall, I really enjoyed the course. The content was challenging, informative, and well presented. I found the practice essays surprisingly difficult, but I learned a lot.

I am based in Germany, so I wasn't sure if some of the modules were relevant to me (e.g. taxes and other business-related modules). Thus, I couldn't help but feel I was getting less value than someone based in the US who paid the same price as me.

Some of the video content is way too fast and difficult to follow. Using the transcript and slowing the video down is the workaround, but I don't understand why the videos need to be so fast in the first place.

I would recommend it to others, but I regret not doing more research to find a more EU-centric course.

Extraordinary course that covered every possible aspect of proofreading 💥💥

Proofread Anywhere lives up to its promise of excellent training and support. The lessons and overall curriculum of Proofread Anywhere’s program are well-written and well-constructed. The lessons give specific, pertinent information, and the program includes plenty of proofreading practice opportunities. Proofread Anywhere also gives a lot of information about how to set up your own proofreading business and attract clients. I highly recommend this program for people who want to create their own proofreading business.

Don't waste your money on this course. It won't prepare you to be a better proofreader. Many of us students still bought books and took other courses from different programs because proofreadanywhere did not give us enough confidence, even after graduating.

As far as teaching you how to find clients, I followed their tips such as: building a website, using social media (Facebook and LinkedIn) to promote my website, cold emailing companies, reaching out to bloggers, applying to job platforms like fiverr, upwork, flex jobs (some of these jobs they offer are scams and some job offers require you to have a certain degree and years of experience), I joined proofreading organizations, I offer to proofread for free to get testimonies, I joined their "Hireaproofreader" and two other directories, and tried other methods. After doing this for a year now I only found one client and it was only a one time job.

I bought a book about how to market your proofreading business and the author said herself that it took her about a year to find her first client and than even longer to actually get her business rolling. In the secret Facebook group some of the proofreaders said the same. That it took them about a year to find one client and than several years to actually get regular work yet they still have to market themselves everyday.

I wished I knew that from start so I wouldn't have bothered wasting my time.

I enjoyed this course. It provides a thorough overview of proofreading theory and practice. Self-discipline is an essential quality for anyone who intends to complete the course in a reasonable period of time.

I feel like i’m being well prepared for this role. The training is easy to understand and challenging. I’m enjoying doing something that I’ve never done before and look forward to my first job as a proofreader!

The program is flexible and allows me to work on it when I have time.

The program was divided up into smaller segments which made it easier to fit into my day. I was also able to work at my own pace.

I know that people learn differently, but I have been hung up on the proofreading practice. I wish there was a better way to do the practice instead of doing so much practice at once. I would also like more feedback about the practice before I submit it at the end.

The content was excellent. I learned a great deal. If I were to change one thing, I would hire a professional script reader for the lessons we listened to. The volume levels were recorded at a low level, and the audio came only through one of my two speakers. A minor criticism, of course. Overall, the course was excellent.

Felt like everything they had for us to learn was great along with links to other helpful items such as tailored books toward Proofreaders or starting your own freelance business. Also, the positive attitudes all around to help you feel comfortable and to succeed. People who graduated from PA have been willing to share their stories and any challenges they went through, along with, their success. I tried a course years ago for another career, and they left you high and try to figure how to get a foot in the door even though they mentioned early in the course they had a little info to help.
