Provence Holidays were absolutely…
Provence Holidays were absolutely fantastic; the whole process was seamless and the service outstanding. Any questions we had were answered promptly and with care.
The villa was advertised as being within walking distance of a village; in reality, there were a few shops dotted along a main road, but given the heat and lack of shade it wasn’t a practical walk.
That said, the property itself was truly beautiful, exactly as shown in the photos, and it did not disappoint. We learned the owners had only rented it out twice before, and it was clear the villa was a real labour of love. They set out clear standards for guests, which we did our best to respect. Each morning they came to clean the pool and would also take the opportunity to check on the property. Their feedback was always polite and helpful, for example, a reminder if a light or fan had been left on after a late evening.
Before departure, they also spent half an hour with us to ensure everything had been left as they had instructed.
As someone naturally tidy and organised, I found meeting these standards manageable, but I can imagine it might feel a little more demanding for guests who prefer a more relaxed approach, especially if they’ve enjoyed a late night in the games room.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience. While I wouldn’t choose this particular villa again as I prefer a little more freedom to enjoy the space, I would happily book through Provence Holidays again.

Ce fut un excellent séjour dans une maison de qualité avec un très bel environnement. Une des plus belles locations que nous effectuée. La piscine est fantastique, je jardin très agréable et l'équipement de la maison est parfait, surtout la plancha !!

We had a wonderful stay in Provence and had a great experience with Provence Holidays. Everyone at Provence Holidays, as well as the villa owner, were very communicative and helpful. The concierge helped us to book some unforgettable experiences. The villa was beautiful, well furnished and clean! The pool and outdoor seating areas were great, and lovely to be so close to the beach.

It is a beautiful house in a quiet location, very well maintained, with a large plot of land offering many possibilities to spend your time. The nearby village is charming and romantic, with lovely small restaurants. A wonderful oasis for relaxation.

Villa bei Hyères/Côte d’Azur mit großen Mängeln
Wir haben eine Villa bei Hyères/ Côte d’Azur im August 25 für eine Woche mit 5 Personen angemietet. Im ersten Moment war es ein Traum, hoch auf einem Berg gelegen, hatte man eine hervorragende Aussicht bis hin zum Meer. Doch am nächsten Tag haben wir einen genaueren Blick auf die Villa geworfen. Man kann sagen, dass ein unsauberes Haus übergeben wurde, die Duschen waren dreckig, der Geschirrspüler wurde lange nicht gereinigt, der Pool ungepflegt mit zerbrochenem Abfluss am Boden (Verletzungsgefahr), die automatische Bewässerungsanlage versorgte gefühlt alles mit Wasser, nur die Pflanzen nicht, die traurig aussahen ;-) - insgesamt passte die Villa nicht zum luxuriösen Anspruch von Provence Holidays. Es wurde zwar eine Reinigungskraft später zur Verfügung gestellt, aber das raubte natürlich die wenige Zeit, die man ungestört in so einem Luxusobjekt verbringen möchte. Anfragen nach Preisreduktion wurden abgelehnt, die 10% Rabatt auf zukünftige Aufenthalte lehnen wir dankend ab und können zumindest diese Unterkunft bzw. den Anbieter Provence Holidays nicht weiterempfehlen. Preis-Leistung auf Sardinien ist weitaus besser - wir sagen erstmal zu Frankreichs Süden - non, merci - obwohl ich Frankreich doch so liebe....
We rented a villa near Hyères / Côte d’Azur in August 2025 for one week with five people. At first, it was a dream – situated high on a hill with a stunning view all the way to the sea. But the next day we took a closer look at the villa.
It was handed over in an unclean state: the showers were dirty, the dishwasher hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, the pool was poorly maintained with a broken drain at the bottom (a safety hazard), and the automatic irrigation system seemed to water everything except the plants, which looked rather sad ;-) Overall, the villa did not live up to the luxury standard promised by Provence Holidays.
Although a cleaning service was eventually provided, it naturally took away from the little time one wants to enjoy such a “luxury” property undisturbed. Requests for a price reduction were rejected. We were offered a 10% discount on future stays, but we politely declined – and cannot recommend neither this accommodation nor Provence Holidays.
In terms of value for money, Sardinia is far superior. For now, we say to the South of France: non, merci – even though I really do love France...

We are delighted to read that, on arrival, you found the villa to be “a dream – situated high on a hill with a stunning view all the way to the sea.” It is always great that the setting creates a memorable first impression.
Thank you also for sharing your detailed feedback once more regarding your one week holiday in August. We have taken your comments very seriously since our call with you during your stay. After careful review with the Concierge and the property owner, we would like to address each of the points raised:
Cleanliness on arrival: You noted that the villa was handed over in an unclean state, with showers and the dishwasher requiring attention. Following your comments, the property's housekeeper attended the next morning to carry out a full cleaning.
Pool condition: You mentioned concerns about the maintenance and a broken drain at the bottom. The Concierge confirmed that the drain cover is located two metres deep and does not pose an immediate safety issue, although it can only be repaired once the pool is emptied.
Irrigation system: You observed that the system was not watering the plants effectively. The garden is in fact synthetic lawn, with a few plants such as bougainvillea connected to automatic watering. Unfortunately, after repeated heat waves this summer, some plants did suffer.
In addition, a wasp nest was promptly dealt with during your stay.
We remained in close contact with the Concierge throughout to ensure that issues were addressed as swiftly as possible. At the check-out, no further compensation was discussed with the Property Manager on site.
We do understand your disappointment, particularly as you shared these concerns during your stay. However, because remedial measures were put in place quickly, the owner did not agree to a 20% refund. Provence Holidays therefore proposed a goodwill gesture of a 10% discount on a future booking, which remains available should you wish to return.
We regret that your experience did not fully meet expectations, and we sincerely apologise for the inconveniences caused. From the moment your remarks were brought to our attention, we ensured they were addressed promptly by the Property Manager, with whom we remained in close contact throughout your stay. In seasonal rentals, such situations can occasionally arise, but our teams are always committed to resolving them as quickly as possible.

Perfect Family Gathering
We had a fabulous holiday with our children, their other halves and 5 grandchildren.
The house was perfect for a large gathering. Very well equipped and very comfortable.
The pool and the pool area was fabulous. Plenty of shade for the little ones.
The charming owner was available to advise us when we needed and couldn’t have been more helpful.
We hope to go back very soon.
