I love this company and their clothing

I love this company and their clothing. Even just looking at their website is so soothing and positive. Everything I’ve received so far I love and everybody I’ve talked to via email has been wonderful. I will continue purchasing from them in the future.

Do not recommend

I received an item as a Christmas gift that arrived only a few days after the company’s 14-day return window. I contacted customer service upon receiving it to request an exchange for a different size, but the request was denied outright with no attempt to accommodate a reasonable situation.

The company offers customer support only via email, and the responses I received were dismissive and unhelpful. Given the rigid policies and poor customer service, I would not recommend ordering from this company, particularly for gifts.

For clarity, this order was placed during our Black Friday event, when items are clearly marked as final sale, and the exchange request came well beyond both the purchase and delivery dates. Because we’re a small, independent brand, we do need to apply these policies consistently.

That said, we always aim to communicate with care, and we’re sorry if our tone came across otherwise. We truly appreciate you sharing this feedback and hope it provides helpful context for others shopping for gifts.

Stringent return policies. Risky to buy.

I’ll start this review with- I love the clothing. It is high quality- with colors that have depth, are extremely comfortable and made unique with simple but beautiful graphics. I would have absolutely been a repeat customer. I swallowed the very steep prices since I loved the philosophy of the company. For these reasons I give them 2 stars rather than 1.

For my first order I bought a few pieces so I could try things on and decide which ones I would like to keep. I tried them on, showed them to my husband- then placed them back in the bag after a bit of inspection to make sure they looked like new. I sent them back and when I wasn’t seeing my return I contacted the company. I was told that two of the return items could not be returned as there were cat hairs and a smell on one and a stain on the other. They said they already sent the items back to me.
I was confused but decided I would further inspect the items when I got them. The pants that they said had a smell smelled as it did when I got them, I figured it was the smell of the dyes they use. It wasn’t an unpleasant odor. There were a couple cat hairs but very few and easy to miss. You would imagine with the price of the clothing they could easily remove the few pet hairs. Human beings are trying on your clothing in their homes. Even if they had a brick and mortar, rogue pet hairs could transfer onto their clothing- and it would be incredibly tacky to charge people for that. I didn’t send back anything that should have deemed it unsellable. The top that was sent back did have a small “stain”- I put this in parentheses as I literally lightly grazed it with my nail and it fell off (good as new). I have no clue how it got there, but I was happy to eat the cost for that item. When I asked them if I could remove the few pet hairs and have the pants reconsidered for return they did say they would consider it, but that I would have to cover the return shipping costs.
At that point I just didn’t feel comfortable throwing anymore money into it. I could remove the 5 hairs I found, but if I missed any then I would just be down the cost of shipping on top of the very steep price of the clothing I didn’t want. I would be terrified to take the clothing out of the bag at all. I have never had any of my returns questioned. I’m still kind of shocked by the stringent guidelines they carry.

I would say if you know you will love it on- and you have the money to potentially throw away- try it out. If it’s a stretch financially and you may have to return things that don’t work for your body- do not buy. It’s not worth the risk. I don’t care how great the clothing is, I will never buy from this company again- and I tell this story to anyone who asks where I got my outfit.

We’re also genuinely sorry your return experience left you feeling frustrated. We understand how disappointing it is to be unable to return items, especially when you were initially excited to try more from us.

We carefully inspect all returned items to ensure they meet our hygiene and resale standards, and in this case, our team found pet hair on one piece and a noticeable mark on another. While we wish we could accommodate every situation, we also have to be thoughtful about the next customer who will receive that garment, especially at our price point and small production scale. That said, we're always trying to balance fairness, flexibility, and product integrity.

We completely understand that shopping online, especially from a brand at a higher price point, can feel like a leap of faith. We appreciate you giving us a try, and while we're saddened to hear you won't be shopping with us again, your feedback is heard and will help us continue improving.

I used to be huge fan of Purusha People

I was a huge fan of Purusha People. For the longest time their clothing quality and style was unmatched. Recently I noticed more frequent issues, usually with seam and stitching, on more recent purchases. To be fair I was offered a return, but I was also told one of the items isn't actually damaged. I was accused of harassment for posting about my negative experiences. They also have a guaranteed reimbursement policy for any well-loved pieces publicly posted on their website that they do not abide by. I was accused of harassment for posting about requesting reimbursement for an item I repaired and being dismissed. I'm grateful for the collection I have, but the blocking of reviews recounting negative experiences is problematic. A year ago I would have said yes 1000% support. Today I would say you can only trust this company if nothing goes wrong and you tell them how great they are.

Love the clothing

Love the clothing. It's buttery soft and the experience the owner provides is above and beyond what the basic expectations in a business owner should be. My closet currently has 10 pieces of her clothing, and I expect to purchase many more. The ethical and meditative aspect is THE biggest reason I support this company wholeheartedly.
