I had a breakdown and called the RAC, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better assistance. Andrew was amazing — calm, professional and incredibly quick to respond.
He quickly identified the issue with my car and a few other issues that need attention asap and explained everything clearly. He also advised me about RAC products and services available at home, which I had no idea they even offered.
Most importantly, Andrew made sure I was okay and did everything he could to get me safely back on the road. His kindness, professionalism and reassurance really made a stressful situation so much easier.
Employees like Andrew deserve the highest praise. He is a real credit to the RAC, and I’m extremely grateful for all his help. Thank you again Andrew, fiona :)

Connor came and did a great job changing my battery, he was polite, professional and careful with my car. He set everything up after as well and had it done in no time. Very happy with a great service.

The RAC team is a good service because I experience that quick response even its a basic trouble in your car they will come were ever you are.

Your engineer was very diligent in trying to resolve the issue with clearing the manufacturers service remainder, hopefully it doesn’t return when the car reaches the manufacturer’s unrealistic mileage of 21000 for the first service

I booked an appointment to have the front brake pads changed today the 28th September.
At 1136 a text message informed me that they were on the way.
At 1600 I received a call stating they weren’t able to come.
Great service, not.
Advised to contact the office to rebook, Why I ask, would I want to waste another day when the RAC can’t get their act together.

Great service, 2 polite and friendly staff! One rescuer a few days previously and a mechanic to do the repair on the day selected.

I was persistently messaged and emailed by RAC to get a quote to service my car. I logged onto the MyRAC app. They had my car listed on my profile. They confirmed that my car (fully electric EV) could be serviced and quoted a price detailing the works to be undertaken. All good so far. I completed the booking form but the app wouldn’t complete the transaction. In frustration I called RAC only to be told that RAC can’t service EVs! The app identified my car as an EV. It quoted a price for a full EV service and detailed what would be included in the service. Then RAC customer care tell me that they can’t service my car! A total waist of my time. With the number of EVs already on the road and increasing it beggars belief that a major company like RAC cant service EVs. I’ll be cancelling my membership.

Dear RAC Complaints Team,
I am writing to formally escalate my complaint from 3rd September 2026 regarding the service engineer who attended to my vehicle, registration J***P.
I received your automated response stating that your investigation could take up to eight weeks.
Given the severity of this matter and the gross negligence involved, an 8-week delay is entirely unacceptable.
This is not a minor customer service grievance; it is a critical failure regarding vehicle safety and professional competence.
To recap the severity of the issue:
During the service, the engineer verbally assured me that "everything was good" with the vehicle, which was witnessed by two independent witnesses.
One of them commented happy days, at least there is nothing wrong with your car.
However, upon reviewing the PDF report, I discovered that both my front and rear brake pads had been marked RED.
According to the official RAC guidelines, a Red rating explicitly means a component is severely worn or dangerously damaged, presenting a critical safety risk that renders the car unroadworthy and unsafe to drive [1].
Because of this terrifying report, I was forced to leave my vehicle parked up, facing weeks of severe disruption, stress, and total loss of use while waiting for an independent inspection.
Today, my vehicle was thoroughly inspected by my local Halfords. They found absolutely no fault with any part of the car's braking system. I have attached their independent report to this email as undeniable proof.
I am appalled by the sheer incompetence of this situation.
How can a service engineer completely contradict their own verbal summary, falsely flag a critical safety defect, and cause a customer to lose the use of their vehicle for weeks for no reason?
Furthermore, the administration on this report was completely negligent. The document was dated 09/02/2026 instead of 02/09/2026—a severe error that flips the date from September to February, entirely compromising my vehicle's accurate service history.When I challenged your team on this error during our phone call on the 3rd of September 2026, I was shockingly told that "it didn't matter," and it was suggested that I could simply explain to any potential future buyer that the date had been logged incorrectly. This advice is utterly absurd, lazy, and unprofessional. Mismatched dates on an official vehicle history report look highly suspicious, damage the vehicle's resale value, and suggest a falsified history.
I wish to remind the RAC that all customer service calls are recorded; I expect you to retrieve the recording of this conversation to verify the exact words used by your agent and address this training and conduct failure. The RAC has a strict duty to provide accurate documentation, not expect customers to explain away your administrative failures to protect their car's value.

Due to the significant distress, financial inconvenience, and total breakdown of trust this has caused, I am requesting:
An immediate escalation of this investigation. It should not take 8 weeks to compare a false PDF report against an official Halfords clear health check.
A full, formal apology and an explanation of how this error occurred.
Substantial compensation for the loss of use of my vehicle for multiple weeks, the stress caused by being told my car was dangerous, and the cost/time of arranging an independent check to prove your engineer wrong.
If this matter is not dealt with swiftly and efficiently, I will have no hesitation in escalating this to the Financial Ombudsman Service Trading Standards body for a breach of professional diligence.
I expect a prompt response within 5 working days.

The mechanic put the wrong mileage on the report I've asked mechanic for new one and spoke to a couple of staff in office and still no help terrible service no customer care
