Great prices on extra wide fabrics for quilting. I love it even more when I know it's deadstock and won't be going into landfill.

Rainbow Fabrics always have a great selection of fabrics at great prices and always go above and beyond for customer service. As a quilter I often find wonderful quilting fabric for my projects.

I’m just so glad that I came across Rainbow Fabrics at the Quilt Festival at the NEC a couple of years ago! Their range of fabrics is incredible, especially the extra wide quilting fabrics, which are so expensive elsewhere. The Rainbow Fabrics rewards scheme is very generous too. The only problem is that, despite my best efforts, my fabric stash keeps getting bigger!

I have ordered several times and they are brilliant.
If they have a problem with the order for some reason they are quick to contact and offer a solution.

So pleased with the waffle fabrics I bought. They have washed and dried well and I am looking forward to starting making my summer wardrobe with them

I have been a recurrent customer of this shop for more than six months and have placed approximately five orders in that time. Overall, the fabric quality has generally been acceptable, but I have encountered several recurring issues with both products and service.

In earlier orders, delivery times were inconsistent: some parcels arrived within a few days, while others took several weeks. On a few occasions, items were cancelled after I had placed the order. Twice I received fabrics with permanent pen marks and numbers written in the middle of the fabric. These issues were inconvenient but still manageable, so I continued ordering.

My most recent order, however, raised more serious concerns. I had around 1,700 loyalty points and a 15% discount already applied to my basket. While checking out, the website notified me that I was only £2 away from qualifying for free shipping. I added an extra fabric to reach the suggested threshold, but after paying I noticed that I had still been charged a delivery fee of about £3. When I contacted customer service, I was told that free shipping only applies to orders over £50 after discounts. I have not found this condition clearly stated on their website, and the checkout message suggesting I was “£2 away from free shipping” was therefore misleading in my view.

In the same order, I purchased a fabric described as navy wool. What I received was effectively black wool. To avoid any confusion about colour perception, I sent photographs showing the fabric next to other black and navy items, where it clearly appeared black rather than navy. I explained that this was not a minor shade difference but either an incorrect item or an inaccurate product description. As of 11 days after my email, I have not received any response from the shop.

In summary, while the fabrics themselves are generally usable aside from occasional pen marks, inconsistent delivery and unclear free‑shipping conditions, their customer service has left me really disappointed. Their absolute lack of response and consideration to a clear product problem have significantly reduced my confidence in the services of this retailer.

UPDATE: I have been contacted by customer services and offered a solution.

Great for dressmaking fabric , always have something different. Postage can be hit or miss , either comes really quick or takes ages but usually worth the wait .

I shopped during the incredible winter sale and got some gorgeous fabrics at an even better price than normal. They arrived really quickly (despite it being Christmas) and, as always, I’m thrilled with the quality.

As a volunteer teacher at local sewing group it’s great to be able to access affordable fabrics for sessions. I’m happy with all my purchases even if they are not quite what I expected they can be saved for future projects. Well done Rainbow Fabrics 🙂
