Dodge with a huge big stick. They really don't have a clue. Two years in a row they've not automatically renewed a domain (auto renew ticked). Cost me around £3k.
Useless company.
We have since moved over to OVH (servers) combined with Namecheap (domains). The great thing about OVH is that the KVM sessions can be done instantly via the control panel, instead of having to wait for hours over at RapidSwitch.
Changes made to the company have reduced it to just a bottom line operation. Experienced staff ousted and brought on cheaper counter-parts with no experience or suitable training - Plus if your server goes offline for any reason they don't do anything about it or care.
If you want to be blackmailed for your data then great choice
They started off as a great company but iomart have taken control and their support has vanished while costs have increased. Don't waste your time here now.
We have been with Rapidswitch for many years and have always had a reasonably positive experience overall where on occasions they had helped with some very complex issues probably above and beyond (which is what you want and always appreciated), but there has been a clear sea-change in 2018 and we have found support to have gone completely down hill to the point of being non-existent for all but the most basic issues.
Firstly, I'm not sure of the point of the 1st line support as they never help with any technical problems at all and just push any issues to their 'management team' (iomart), who in turn will do the bare minimum to 'help' with any issues. The party line from all sides seems to be "this isnt covered in your management agreement".
Recently we had a failure with the backup system (that THEY set up) and found no backups had been taken for goodness knows how long. Their response to this is that it was a hardware failure and they could put in a new drive - but they wouldnt mount, format it, or set it up again to fix the backup issue. They literally opened the box, plugged in the drive and that was it, passing it back to us to research how to do all the rest ourselves.
When asked for support on their "RapidStore" off site storage (again, for backups) I was told over the phone that they "would not support any help on this". Their own product, that they set up and we pay for - but they cant offer any support on it... brilliant.
Honestly, if it wasnt for the hassle, we'd move all our sites off and I certainly cannot recommend them to anybody at the moment.
I'll happily update this review if service improves to the levels it was pre 2018, but at the moment I would avoid putting your business in their hands.
I hosted many servers with Rapidswitch over the last decade. Was always happy with the service and support.
Lately however the support has become terrible. Response times on tickets are extremely slow and the quality of support is shocking.
I would strongly advise not to host with Rapidswitch. It seems a company in decline. There are far better options.
All I'll say is I'm having a nightmare dealing with Rapidswitch and I wish I never dealt with them.
Please do yourself a favour, there's lots of good UK hosting companies, but this isn't one of them!
Whilst there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the servers this cowboy crew provide - watch out! In our opinion they will try and sell you products they have no idea how to support. It is our opinion they will also sell you products on the basis they support will be included, or that no maintenance of a product will be required. They offer a very old fashioned way of doing business. You can get everything you could possibly need and a lot more, for a fraction of the price, from the likes of MS Azure of AWS.
RUN! RUN! RUN! from this company unless you want to be locked in to a contract of trouble and sheer misery.
Individually, they seem pretty nice, but there are no processes binding anything together within their company, so no-one knows what anyone else has said.
Oh - and pray you do not have an issue at the weekend as any indepth support simply does not exist.
We have grown from one server with a modest 32GB Ram to 6 Servers features up to 128GB Ram in each, dual CPU's and now two dedicated QSans across DC3 and DC5. Been with Rapid Switch for almost 2 years and not had a single outage on the network.
Would recommend to anyone.
I have a dedicated server with Rapidswitch which has increased our independence as a business. The server is great, fast, reliable and always up and running. I think we got great value.
Recently we had an issue. Our website was hacked and altered. Let me clarify this was NOT RapidSwitch's fault - it was a security issue at our end. Despite not having server management included in our package, Rapidswitch took pity on us and gave us first rate professional help and advice in getting our site restored and security improved. We do pay monthly for offsite backup, but RapidSwitch certainly weren't obliged to help anywhere near as much as they did. Their team always responded within 20 minutes to emails.
A special thankyou from us go to STEPHEN HURLEY & PAUL in tech support who were excellent all the way in helping us. GEORGE WOOD, our account manager is always very helpful too!

Staff have been excellent, willing to answer questions even if they are a little outside the box. Nice selection of packages and willing to do custom little tweaks as requested.
What little downtime that occurs is warned well in advance.
Highly recommended.
RapidSwitch are affordable and we have had no real issues with downtime on any of our servers. Their ticketing system is great with response times kept as low as possible. We do not subscribe to their managed solutions which can be tricky at times, but the support staff do help us out as much as they can within their restrictions. Purchasing a server with RapidSwitch is very simple through the online portal and is setup in a very quick time. All in all, they are a good company that I would recommend if you need an unmanaged server with good spec at a good price.

We began using Rapidswitch for Bluepark in 2005 as we were looking for a UK-based colocation service provider. We've always used our own hardware and started with a basic 2U server. Now, 9 years later, we have a full rack - and we're still receiving excellent service from Rapidswitch.
Many things have changed during this time, our servers are now located in a newer data centre, and Rapidswitch was acquired by the Iomart Group some years ago. Obviously, during a 9 year relationship with a company in the hosting industry, there have been a small number of bumps in the road - but Rapidswitch has always responded to unexpected events in a timely and professional manner.
They provide a safe and secure environment for our servers within the data centre, friendly and helpful staff, along with instant access 24/7 whenever we need it. The network infrastructure is very robust. They have also proved themselves to be flexible enough when we have required more bespoke solutions.
We would be happy to recommend Rapidswitch for colocation in the UK.
