Avoid at all costs - horrible experience
This place literally deserves zero stars. I'm shocked by their consistent mistreatment of students. My mother-in-law experienced a medical emergency due to the absolute stress and lack of help and care from Rasmussen University. I witnessed this place completely destroy the confidence, motivation, health, and self-esteem of a very capable person. The professors and Dean seemed to care very little. In fact, when the medical emergency occurred, it was silence from the university even though they knew the event happened. I know for a fact my university cohort/professors/dean would have reached out to me or my family if something happened to me. Rasmussen did not. They truly just don't care about the students as humans or as future healthcare professionals. I was astounded at the stories I would hear about students who were failed out of the program for missing one quiz or test question. I'm happy to hear the Wausau campus is closing so more students cannot be harmed by the god-awful services of this place. I warn any one of you to avoid attending this university at any other location. They need to be reported and shut down.
I graduated from Rasmussen University…
I graduated from Rasmussen University in December 2023, and I had a great experience with every professor I had online and on campus but I especially want to thank Ms. White who believed in from the beginning that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. I’m happy to be a Rasmussen Alumini and proud to say I graduated on the honor roll and just passed my Registered Medical Assistant Exam !!
this college is awful
this college is awful ! Just awful ! I wasn’t having problems , up until I started experiencing very bad migraines and had to be seen by a dr for them . In turn I was missing a lot of class . So I was withdrawn without warning . So I did an appeal and it was turned down . I even provided medical documentation! This school doesn’t care about you as a person only your money . Terrible .
My daughter attended this school for…
My daughter attended this school for nursing during the Covid years and it was a joke. She was working as a nurse aid in a hospital while attending remote classes, but Rasmussen kicked her out of school for not having the Covid vaccine. She continued to work directly in the hospital with patients without the vaccine, but Rasmussen wouldn’t allow her to attend remote classes! This turned into a 6-month battle with this joke of a University before they relented. We would have gladly taken a reimbursement for tuition paid and went elsewhere, but they wouldn’t even discuss this. She told me the education she received was completely useless and the only way she graduated was thru working on her own….I would NEVER send anyone to this school!!
We all need to contact Rasmussen it’s…
We all need to contact Rasmussen it’s located in Georgia this nursing school needs to completely shut down. Rasmussen is a scam school. They don’t good. They don’t help. The credits are not accredited. Last quarter it was 20 students in the classroom. 18 students dropped 2 students stayed: Rasmussen sent 15 students in clinical 13 students quick clínica 3 students stayed. Rasmussen is a piece of trash. Scam. Lie. My advisor is always on vacation stealing students money and go on vacation this school need to get sue right now
The RN program is an on-campus program…
The RN program is an on-campus program where the lectures and PowerPoint are recorded, and you are to listen and review them before coming into class. The instructor goes over the PowerPoint presentation with no new information. A waste of time. When taking your ATI, it is your responsibility to review the online book (no physical books are provided). For the amount of money they charge, this school is not worth it.
This school is a complete waste of…
This school is a complete waste of money! I spent $9,000 and had about 28-32 credits, I ended up transferring colleges and RASMUSSEN DOES NOT TRANSFER YOUR CREDITS! I earned 4 credits for each class but Rasmussen only transferred 2.68 so I have to repeat EVERYTHING! Not one class was worth anything. This is a joke of a school
I wished I would have read these…
I wished I would have read these reviews before I started according to my advisor as a returning student they allowed me to enroll start class and then they told me I had to pay 4,000 dollars out of pocket who the heck has that kinda money laying around I applied and qualified for financial assistance They shared I had to pay this amount out of pocket before I could receive my FA. because I was on something called SAP. I am going to check with Higher Education to see if this is proper protocol No I no longer want to attend it’s the principle of trying to beat people and making getting a education unaffordable
Worst place to attend!
Save your pennies and never attend this joke of a university! They will present you with very convincing lies that caters to what you want to hear, when in reality they are just trying to milk money out of you. Even their financial aid is a joke! The classes are overly priced and they teach you very meaningless things that don’t always align with what you are pursuing. I did their online courses and I hated the fact that all their projects and assignments are due on the same day with a big ass late penalty ! Yeah sure you might come across very nice online instructors that will not penalize you for turning things in late due to personal issues outside of academics…but they’re a small number! The majority of them don’t really care about your problems and will continue to penalize you regardless, and when you think you’re about to fail, you can’t freely withdraw like most colleges….You have to wait for your advisor’s approval which is utterly ridiculous. Please don’t attend this university!
Rasmussen University is not what they…
Rasmussen University is not what they portray. Please do yourself a favor and find another school to attend. I would suggest Chamberlin University rather than Rasmussen. Rasmussen University Mokena Has a teacher name Suzanne Repervich who they allowed to refer to the students in which the school is "predominantly African American" as lazy, lack motivation, and cheaters. I think this is very offensive being that the school is 95% black. Along with this, the morale at this school is very low and it's a very toxic environment. The amount of money that you spend, you'd think you would be treated with respect. The instructors that do help the students--are harrassed and often leave and go elsewhere. The Repervich instructor could be overheard talking about other students and their shortcomings. The racism is very evident in this school. The students are black and the management is white and they treat the students as such. Not to mention, Another instructor was overheard calling an asian woman in YouTube educational video a video a "Chink." The students pay a great deal of money just to be mistreated, talked down upon, and ridiculed. Theres not respect for religion, or race at this institution. Please take my advice and run! do not attend this school for your nursing degree.
Do not bother going here
Warning ⚠️ Do not bother going here . I was told by my advisor every thing was covered by financial aid but soon as the semester started they raised there prices and apparently I have to pay out of pocket. Oh i can never get a hold of my advisor I will leave messages after messages and she always sends me an email but never call me back. Not to mention I explained to her that I wasn't emotionally capable of taking a class at a certain time due to family situation and finding out my son has autism and what she said was I'm sorry to hear your son has autism. Don't believe everything they ever tell you because it isn't true and don't buy books they will automatically take money for the books from your financial aid online classes the instructor hardly uses the books .
Not very polite
Not very polite. This was not even my top choice of colleges and when I took “too” long to get the ‘Rasmussen ready’ done, I received messages saying “Do you still intend to start classes? I still see zero progress in Rasmussen Ready. Classes will have much more firm deadlines and I want to make sure you're well prepared to be successful in classes.” Then when I messaged to be took off the list I received “If you can get it done by the end of the weekend we can keep your enrollment going. But once classes start you'll have 2 deadlines per class, per week, which is pretty common among online schools.”
Instructors not helpful
When I started at this college, I did not know what to expect. I had not used APA before, all new. But, I was willing to learn, if they were willing to teach me. My very first written assignment was not a standard paper, it was like a brochure kind of paper. The instructor reminded us about citations, but said none of you are new, you know how to do it. She was very snappy and crabby and mouthy. Bad mouthing companies in business like Walmart and Microsoft. When I had a question on my paper, since I was BRAND NEW, she said I talked about it in the live class. Didn't answer my question. So I met with a tutor. She was helpful in answering my questions. Got my paper back and she said it was missing particular information. I looked back, it was there. I asked her about it and she still didn't tell me what I did wrong. I asked her to help me so I know what was wrong and she refused to help.
I paid $3,000 for 5.5 weeks of classes, and she can't give me 5 minutes to teach me? The tutor looked it over and she can't understand what was wrong with it.
Don't do it
If I could rate Rasmussen University a .5 - I would. I don't know where to start other than they are NOT flexible for adult learners as they state. Also, they do not work with you if you are having any sort of medical or family emergency. My daughter's grandmother died and they said if she missed the lab, she just would not get the points and may have to redo the whole class. When she had a doctor note from being in the Emergency Room they told her the same thing. They were not willing to work with her to have some grace to get her assignments in. She was asking for an extra 2 days. This is on top of the fact that they told her the Lab Assistant program was flexible for adult learners who work and then expected her to take 3 days off of work for a whole semester. She works full time for a clinic and pays her own ways. This was after they told her that she had so much flexibility in her interview before beginning the program. Let's talk about the difference, I am in grad school and when I was ill my professors got back to me right away offering weeks to get caught up. My other daughter is in law school and her professors all told her how sorry they were for her loss and to take as much time as she needed after the death of her grandmother. Rasmussen is a FOR money college that does not care about their students. Don't do it.
WORST UNIVERSITY EVER!
WORST UNIVERSITY EVER!! They only care about the money! And the Executive of the university is a POS.
DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL
DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL! Completed assignments are not even a consideration in the grading process. I was two points from passing a final exam & failed the whole class. This was expensive learning lesson for sure. Now I have to find a new school. I expressed my concerns to my advisor I felt pushed into doing what the school wanted me to do not what was best for me. Everyone learns differently it's not one size fits all. If you are a self learner & can teach yourself everything this is the school for you.
This is a great school
This is a great school. I have learned tremendously and have acquired many transferable skills. The work study is great and come in handy.
Spend your money and loans on a better…
Spend your money and loans on a better level of education, save yourself the trouble. Nothing but lies, basically financial and educational theft and I wish I could do more to protect myself. No one at this school will help, and I feel like they have stolen $20k from me with double talk and false statements. I'm an older student too, so wrong in many different ways. I have no choice but to continue getting abused by this situation because they have a stronghold on my fafsa and if I withdraw I lose everything. Scam that I fell for by smooth talk.
Oh hell no
The first clue should have been any time you type anything involving nursing education in google this school comes up at the top as a sponsored result. Digging deeper after my wife tried to attend. This is a for profit institution. I will not go into the absolute S--t S--w this place has been from admissions to financial aid to scheduling. My wife was quoted around 36k per year to attend of which she was graciously given the opportunity to apply for around 9k of student debt. She also applied to a real higher learning university, Duke, and total out of pocket including room and board for the year would be 2k. They also appear to simply grade students ability to teach themselves the material. They are also on there third year of probation. Run away.
HORRIBLE
HORRIBLE. RUN! This school does not care about its students. Only the money! They are unorganized, unprofessional, and will switch policies making it harder for you to succeed even when you’re so close to graduating. They incorporated this new Ati policy which if you don’t obtain a level 2 even if you’re passing the actual class exams and assignments and clinicals you automatically fail the class! They changed this while I was further along in the program instead of just making that law for the new students entering. They’re on probation for risk of accreditation. Also, I don’t know how my times my schedule has gotten changed last minute and I can go on! Just don’t waste your time, money, or energy. Your mental health will get ruined!
