I began using Reason when it was just a standalone midi instrument and used Reason Rewire to connect into Cubase using Novation Remote 25 as my controller because it was specifically designed and optimized to work with Reason. I really loved how everything just worked together. A few years ago, I decided I wanted to get back into music creation and bought a Novation Launchkey 37 MK3 when it first came out and was planning to use with Reason. Unfortunately, that combo just did not work as expected, so I decided to pack it in due to technical issues I was having with the Launchkey 37. The main one being Novation's decision to disable the controllers default drum pad feature.
The other day I was out, I saw that Novation had introduced the Launchkey 37 Mini MK4 which would actually work out size wise for my system, plus it came in white! So, I decided to buy one and give it a try using it with Reason. Unfortunately, the controller has same technical issues as the MK3 version. I really love the controller because of its size, performance and features and decided to keep it because Cubase SE came with it. Plus, I really hate using Ableton Live.
The Reason Rack works perfectly in Cubase as a plugin and in some cases, I find it more convenient and lot easier use as a plugin. So here I am after some 20 years back using Reason 14 with Cubase (I upgraded from LE to Artist version) and a Novation Launckey Mini 37 MK4 MIDI controller and am loving being able to enjoy creating music again!!!
PS I use Reason as my main DAW I just like having the option to use it in Cubase,

Got the right solution to my issue via mail. Reason Studio uses a ticket system in which info is shared with the user so its very transparent what the status of your issue is.

I’ve been a Reason user for several years now. I use it as my DAW to record drums. I find Reason easy to use and reliable. Whenever I’ve had issue (rarely) the staff have always been extremely helpful and also professional.

I have been a dedicated user since the early days of ReCycle and ReBirth, and I still absolutely love the visual approach and the core concept of the Reason racks. It remains a fantastic environment that is great for instant creativity. The recent merger and integration with LANDR is a fantastic move. The merger gives Reason+ significantly better value by including mastering, publishing, and other extras. Furthermore, seeing the upgrade prices drop for perpetual licenses is a very welcome change. While a rent-to-own model included in Reason+ would have been another great solution, I understand that might have ultimately pushed the subscription price up. The new rack is extremely handy, but Reason's ongoing lack of native MPE MIDI support has forced me to adapt my workflow. I currently use Bitwig Studio as my main sequencer for MPE, utilizing Reason as a plugin inside it. It is great that I can still access the racks I love, but I wish Reason could handle MPE natively. While the new rack plugin is a great addition, it doesn’t feel fully refined just yet. I am not a big fan of the "one rack per track" limitation. Building massive, complex modular chains was much more intuitive and fun in the older versions. Additionally, the UI updates are fighting my muscle memory. I am used to dropping in my rack extensions directly from the menu. The new search patch function that pops up first is definitely useful, but it is a bit too quick to access and interrupts the force of habit I've built up over the years. There are truly great extensions available on the platform, and I have built a collection of well over 350 of them. However, I've noticed that while some older, discontinued racks still function perfectly, they have vanished completely from the platform's documentation. It would be highly appreciated if Reason kept simple thumbnails and a basic webpage with details for these older plugins, even just to clearly state "no longer supported," rather than erasing them entirely.Despite these few workflow quirks, the software remains an essential tool for my studio, and I have to give a special shoutout to their customer support team, who are always incredibly friendly and helpful whenever I reach out. All in all... highly recommended!

Virtually no response to help tickets after 2 weeks. I find myself encouraged to move on to another DAW although I've been with them since Reason 3.

Reason is a superb DAW, packed with truly inspiring features and a gorgeous user interface. Version 14 focuses on the arrangement window and simpler usability for managing large projects, with the per-track panel, folders, and sequencer improvements. There are other interesting additions here and there that enhance the experience. It's probably the best update in years, and this is undoubtedly the best possible direction for this legendary software. There are still some shortcomings, such as the lack of MPE support, video, and MIDI routing, which prevent Reason from truly competing with its rivals, but yes, this is undeniably the best Reason experience ever.

Reason 14 is fantastic, not a popular DAW, but soon will be!! Love it and great to use.

An absolutely awesome program, well worth the money. I wish it were a little easier to learn. Their instructional videos tend to assume your at least ⅓ of the way there. They could really use a total beginner's video.
But the program and it's capabilities are amazing!

Reason 14 adds substantial improvements to the best (and most overlooked) DAW out there.

Using Reason since V1 in the year 2000! A software that went from pioneer to natural in my music production. Couldn't do without.

I wouldn't say my experience was great. I have always been a huge fan of Reason. Unfortunately, I chose to buy a new Novation Launchkey Mini 37 MK4 to give it a try in Reason. Bad news is that Novation still does not fully integrate with Reason. Same problems as last time with my Launchkey 37 M3. One big issue is that neither of my Launchkey 37s built in drum pad functions work. Pressing "shift" key and button 10 switches to drum mode, but pads do not send notes to Reason. This is a huge flaw with both my Launchkey midi controllers and Novation support people do not care! Past experiences forced me to use Ableton Live to get Drum pads working correctly. However, I had to use Reason as a plugin, which kind of defeats the purpose of having Reason. Plus, I really hate Live. I am a musician who loves creating music not beats!!! I am now going to give Reason a try using Cubase Le seeing as it comes with MK4 Novation keyboards. Yet again, this means using Reason as a plugin rather than as a full-fledged DAW. This situation is really bad because both products are amazing and in fact, I first started out using Reason with a Novation SL back in the early days when reason was just an instrument and you needed to pair it up with record in order to record audio.
