Everything about my experience was made so easy, what could have easily been a very stressful experience wasn’t… Ryan the medic who helped me had everything sorted and under control!! Constantly asking if I was ok and no hesitation to get/ assist me with anything I needed. Great guy!! Thank you to everyone involved for a smooth transition back to the uk

Such a welcome telephone call from Repatriation Medical Services in the UK to me in hospital in Andorra with a broken pelvis. From that moment on I felt I was in safe hands. I was travelling solo and help was soon on its way. A fabulously calm advanced paramedic practitioner appeared a day later with the all important caffeine- Andorra's hospital is caffeine free - tea included! He managed the bureaucracy of the Andorran hospital with great patience . A really smooth transfer then took place with 3 seats reserved across a plane to the UK. A handover to a cheery ambulance crew and a long winding journey back to Dorset. Brilliant. I couldn't fault it and felt totally safe and secure. What a great bunch of professionals! If you ever have the unfortunate need of repatriation ask for this lot!

Don't look any further. I went through all 120 services on the .gov website and this is all you need to know. These are the most practical, knowledgeable and helpful of the lot. My mother, 90 and not insured, needed repatriating from the Caribbean with a broken hip. Adam worked really hard to get the best and most economical route. He was happy for me to help with planning and be involved and he kept me informed of all the contacts and plans as they evolved. Two paramedics were sent out to Mum, Tim and Cal, who couldn't have done more to reassure and help her feel that everything was under control. They facetimed me from the airport so I could speak with Mum while they were waiting and sent pictures from various points on the journey home. You have found the right company to get you out of a pickle-look no further.

Nurse Tim accompanied me from Austrian clinic on 3hr ambulance ride to Insbruck airport he negotiated me seamlessly through all formalities to the plane including wheelchair lift and then on flight to uk arranging seating with crew on arrival at Gatwick he was there every step with wheel chair and buggie recovering hold luggage and immigration until handing over to ambulance crew for journey home
Throughout his care and good humour was an enormous support..he even hand wrote a note to my doctor of some concerns on my vital signs checked throughout the journey
I cannot recommend their service too highly

My paramedic Tim Hodgson was fantastic and could not have done more to help during the journey to Rio de Janeiro Galeão airport, the BA flight to Heathrow and home delivery to Bayswater. He constantly took my body readings provided constant reassurance when I didn’t feel great. All in all wonderful professional and compassionate help! Thanks

I recently had a skiing accident in Bulgaria which resulted in a fracture in my pelvis. As a result I had to be flown home to the UK on a stretcher. Tim was assigned as my escort for the journey and all I can say is that he was amazing from the start.

It is difficult being in a foreign country where spoken English is limited and then when faced with a stretcher journey back to the UK with a stopover in Germany, it was quite a frightening prospect. Once Tim arrived he took control showing his experience in this area and was able to explain the process including what to expect for the stopover. It is nerve wrecking being stretchered onto a commercial flight, but Tim was very calm, kept checking my vitals and kept me comfortable.

I was delighted to be back in London and very thankful for Tim’s patience and keeping the journey stress free. I’ll be forever grateful to Tim.

Recently I had the immense privilege of being escorted home by Tim during a recent overseas trip when I faced unexpected health challenges. From the moment Tim arrived, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief and reassurance.

My Mother fell while in the TRNC and had to have a full hip replacement while there. The Travel Insurance company made contact with RMS to enable medical repatriation. There are some things that money cannot buy and that is the experience and knowledge of Adam and Tim, in the service that they provide to distressed and frightened patients, and family members, when in this awful situation. They know how things work (worldwide) with actually getting people back to the UK and then delivering them to the care that they need after landing.

Their communication was fantastic, from the minute Tim landed. He came straight to the hospital to do a pre-flight check, with Adam co-ordinating everything back in the UK.

Tim was kind, patient, caring and extremely reassuring every step of the way. Being a Paramedic, with significant experience, he took control and was just amazing.

Tim and Adam make a significant difference to people's lives/experiences with what they do. They have certainly had a significant impact on ours during the last 2-3 days and we cannot thank them enough.

Where do I even begin? Having a loved one suddenly fall ill is tough enough, but when it happens far from home, it feels almost impossible. All the usual comforts and support systems—emotional and physical—are gone, and I felt completely trapped and terrified. That’s when RMS stepped in and truly gave me a light at the end of the tunnel. It wasn’t just about booking a service or making a transaction. From the very first conversation, it was clear that they were there for me emotionally. I needed to know I wasn’t alone, and that’s exactly what they provided. Georgie, in particular, gave me the strength I needed to start seeing a way forward after what had been an incredibly hard few weeks. We are now back at home, and it never would have happened without the support of RMS. I’m forever grateful for their help during one of the most challenging times of my life.

From the initial telephone and text message contacts it was clear that Sam was making thorough preparations to ensure transfers were smooth and efficient. His preparation of the documentation including Boarding Passes was detailed and effective as were the various stages involved to make the journey from hospital in Spain to hospital in Wales.

Sam listened well to my concerns and made me feel confident and able to travel safely. He was very attentive to my medical needs and quietly helped me to overcome challenges. His professionalism was exemplary.

The reviews on this site made me contact RMS. We were given a list from The British Embassy. I am so glad that I did. I can't thank Adam and Tim enough for the level of service and help that we received with our stressful situation.
An estranged family member needed to be repatriated after being hit by a car. No travel insurance. Adam was always available to contact and helped with the best quote asking the right questions for the travel arrangements.

I whole heartedly would recommend RMS and would be happy to provide my experience to anyone who asked. From the first contact I felt confident in RMS and knew I had found the right company.
When I first contacted RMS for assistance to repatriate my elderly mother in declining health, they fully explained their service and the qualifications of their escorts. After the initial telephone call they also provided a full quote including different routing options and the costs for each. Over a course of several months with my mother's up and down condition, I spoke with RMS on 3-4 occassions. Each time they patiently answered my questions and gave me confidence that my mother would be cared for sensitively and professionally and did not rush us.

When we were ready to proceed, we received an updated quote and selected our preferred routing option. We received and paid for the invoice and everything was put in place.

Our escort, Sarah, called us the day before travel to go over the plan for the day and answer any questions or concerns giving us further confidence. Sarah monitored my mother continuously throughout our journey. The day after our journey my mother commented what a lovely and genuinely caring person Sarah was.

I can not thank Georgie, Adam, and Sarah enough. You made a difficult journey and a difficult decision to repatriate possible.

RMS will not phone you or text you or chase you for the business. They allow you all the time you need until you are ready to move forward and contact them. RMS also does not require you to sign a quote with a terms and conditions that leave you exposed to huge expenses whether incurred or not. If you are dealing with a company that does any of this, give RMS a call before you sign anything.

My Mum underwent an emergency operation in Egypt and required assistance and oxygen in order to fly back.
Repatriation Medical Services handled the repatriation and were very good in putting in place the appropriate arrangements.
The flight Paramedic Tim was excellent from start to finish. He provided excellent communication from the moment he arrived. He met my mum at the hospital to check here over and provide information on the process for the repatriation and reassurance to her.
Tim is very experienced and knowledgable and we felt confident everything would run smoothly in his care.

We were repatriated by Sarah. The service was absolutely brilliant from initial contact by Adam to when we got back into the uk. If we have to be repatriated again, let’s hope they use this company.

Had an accident in hurghada Egypt on the 7th of December 2024 and was in hospital in royal hurghada hospital 🏥 I got an excellent repatriation escort home to Scotland and his name was tim who was very punctual and professional at his job and made my trip home very comfortable and during his visits to the hospital and through security and customs at both airports many thanks tim 👍

Arrangements were made for me to be flown back to the UK with a nurse escort and airport assistance following being hospitalised in Austria following a ski accident and fractured pelvis. Although I was being mobilised with crutches I was still very psinful and required wheelchair assustance. Everything went very well, was streamlined and professional. The pain was kept to a minimum and although it was a long day I arrived home safely. I would thoroughly recommend this company.
