Writing this so somebody else reads the fine print better than I did. I did the monthly plan to test it out, decided within two weeks it wasn't for me, and then learned monthly is non-refundable, period. Yes it's in the terms, I know, my fault for skimming. But plenty of companies give you 7 days or something and I think that would be the decent thing to do here. The support person was nice enough about it and I had access through the end of my month, but I'm still out $29 for basically nothing.

Just renewed for another year so I figure that's my review right there. Sunday mornings I make coffee and pull up the dashboard, been doing it so long my wife calls it my church. I spent 30 years around numbers for work and most retirement calculators insult your intelligence, one magic number and good luck. This one actually shows the money going out year by year which is what I always wanted to see. The claiming numbers came out within a hair of what my accountant figured, that's when I knew it was legit.

I want to be fair here because nothing about it is bad, the tools work and the numbers matched what my bank statements say. But I've got one pension and one IRA and that's the whole story, so after the first month or so I realized I'd stopped logging in. I think it's built for people with more moving pieces than me. Cancelled without any hassle which I'll give them credit for, no phone tree, no "are you sure" games.

Funny thing is I bought this for the budgeting and that's not even what I'd tell you to buy it for. There's an estate document checklist in there and seeing all those empty boxes staring at us finally got my wife and me to do the will we'd been putting off for probably six years. Beneficiaries too, mine still had my late brother listed on an old 401k which would have been a mess. We went up to the Professional plan for the document vault and now our daughter knows there's one place with everything in it. Can't really put a price on that.

Giving it 4 stars because the first couple evenings were rough, I wasn't sure where to put things and had to email support twice about getting my husband's accounts in there alongside mine. They did answer within a day both times and were patient with me. Now that it's all set up I'm in there every week or so, mostly the budget and the withdrawal tracker since my husband turns 73 next year and I do NOT want to get those deadlines wrong. Wish the setup had been smoother but I'm glad I stuck with it.

I sat down with a local advisor last spring and when he got around to the fee, 1% of everything, every year, I about fell out of my chair. A buddy from work mentioned he just used software so I looked around and ended up here on the Enhanced plan. I've run my retire-at-63 numbers against retire-at-65 probably a dozen times now and I finally feel like I actually understand my own money. And nobody has tried to sell me an annuity yet, which after that advisor meeting feels like a miracle.

I retired from teaching last June and honestly my "plan" was four different spreadsheets and a legal pad that only I could read. My son had been on me for months to get organized so I finally signed up for the basic annual plan figuring I'd cancel if it was junk. Well I didn't cancel. The social security part surprised me the most because I had always assumed I'd just claim at 62 like my sister did, and when I ran it both ways the difference from waiting until 67 was a lot bigger than I expected. I still keep one spreadsheet out of habit lol but everything that matters is in here now.
