ON LEVEL ONE: I went back MANY times... to clarify and make sure I had it in my head that each lesson is a building block.. it has taken me MONTHS to unblock my fears and complete...Jeez, I hope I get this right!

This is an amazing course! Stephen gave me the tools to achieve my goal to play piano in less than 6 months!

I hurt my back over a year ago, and since then I haven’t been able to sit at my keyboard or practice the way I used to. It’s been a long, painful, and honestly discouraging journey. But after taking Stephen’s five-day class — feeling his energy in the live sessions and the passion he puts into every lesson — something inside me finally woke back up.

For the first time in over a year, I want to practice again. Even if I can only play for a few minutes at a time, it feels like I’m reconnecting with a part of myself I thought I’d lost. That alone is a huge win for me.

Because of my back, I might not be able to make the final video like we’re supposed to… but the progress I’ve made still feels incredible. Just having the desire and motivation to sit at my keyboard again means more to me than I can say.

Well paced, engaging for all levels, Stephen’s eager for music to come alive in his students.

After a childhood filled with violin lessons, I took a lengthy break from music during adulthood. However, my passion for music never faded. Once I retired, I decided to rekindle that passion by hiring a guitar teacher and a piano teacher from a local music store. Although they were pleasant instructors, their focus was mostly on younger students. When I discovered the Ridley Academy, it was clear I needed a new approach. The program is designed specifically for adult learners, offering the support and structure I needed. While I came in knowing how to read sheet music, the academy has expanded my understanding and skills tremendously. Stephen, along with my mentor, helped transform me from someone who just tapped melodies on surfaces into an actual piano player. I'm far from being the next Elton John, but thanks to this course and its guidance, I've opened up both my mind and fingers to new possibilities. Now, I can revisit old sheet music from my collection and bring them to life. Carnegie Hall isn’t quite in my sights yet, but maybe next year!

I was recently asked to watch a new video on Scales. It was exactly what I needed! During my studies, I was a bit puzzled as to why these were important. I assumed they were, but did not have a firm, personal reality on it.

After watching the video, I gained a firm understanding of why they are important, from an exercise in it! I've been experimenting with it on my own, with different scales, and playing notes not in the scale and hearing the discord.

It was fabulous.

I gained an understanding and firm reality on why these are important and I am now beyond excited to dig into this area.

It would give it a 5 star but I have some problems trying to understand my mentor

The old.one.i.got.from.a.friend is too old and/or the fact.that.she stored it in.a quanset did not it. It's almost like.a.barn but made of metal. As I.comtinue my lessons.im more and more excited to.get that.new one in here. Between myself and AI, I've already found the.nest dealership to.go.to, learned what to.check on the piano; for.example make sure to press a.key down.and look to.the side of the key to make sure its wood, not.plastic
Any model number in this piano.should have a 4 in the middle of its model number ie.845
He also gave me some terminology to use so I don't.sound like i.habe.no ideas about pianos

Im ready to.spemd.apptox $3500 for.a piano.and I've learned how to get the sale on.a.set of headphones for.free. im so excited
This is what.Stephens class has done.for me along with what I've learned so.far. This is.high motivation to.get.the older piano.out of her that.can.not even be tuned or.i.guess.he.coild easily break the strings on it

Bc of 7 kids and one awesome mother, we made it thru the basics, like to.grade 12 and there was definitely no money for piano lessons. Now im in a position to buy a new one and learned more than just a few tunes that I learned by ear. I have through the years learned keys and.chords. Just very basic stuff. I.feel great awesome peaceful when I play the piano
I.can hardly wait to get that piano.and get going again on my classes..thanks Stephen so far for what I've learned so far and bc Stephen created the modules in a way anyone can understand them I've learned so much already..see there was a purpose to not.being able to.get lessons paid for. I would have learned useless and confusing information but skipped all that and found Stephen on line...thanks again and again Stephen. I.cant wait for that knew piano.and i .can hardly wait to start playing a piano that.can.be tuned plus its brand knew. Holy moly im just going for it. Ridley Academy has rekindled my love for messing around with music. The well-structured course takes you through bite-sized chunks of achieveable activites/drills that, when completed, gives a real sense of satisfaction. I'm about halfway way through and loving it all as much as day one.

I love the way Stephen teaches how to play music. It definitely makes it so much easier. I like his style. It makes a lot of sense to me. I feel well equipped to continue to learn on my own. Nothing seems scary.

From a young age, I always wanted to play the piano but never took lessons AND I m happy I didn’t. You see traditional lessons would have been a bust for me. So I learned to play the guitar (not ready for live entertainment) by ear, learning chords, playing for seniors etc.
But still, in the back of my mind was the desire to play the piano. So I took the RIDLEY step and have never regretted doing so. Starting at age 76, I found this program a great fit BECAUSE the plan WORKS. Small steps built upon small steps that work. Just follow the plan!

Step by step teaching from the first. I play piano as my daughter used to play before leaving home and felt that piano needs a companion.
Joined the masterclass and decided to enroll to learn properly. With practice, I am sure that I will play good music with patience & continued practice.

I have tried many Piano lesson programs. But I never have advanced as much as with Ridley's Academy.
I thought it was brilliant to make us learn All the Scales before starting us on Music reading! It certainly got me out of the C scale I had been caught in for years!.

Stephen presents the course material in the piano masterclass in an easily understandable ‘bite size’ format with energy and enthusiasm that makes learning to play the piano fun. I used to play backing (just chords) keyboards in band and doing this course has filled in so many gaps in my knowledge of playing music. Highly recommended!!!
