Awful service.

Awful service.
Placed an order for in store collection on 30th April, told it would be in by 8th May, didn’t arrived. Store manager looked in it. I got an email saying it was delayed and would be in by 21st May, it still hasn’t arrived. Trying to speak to someone at customer service is a nightmare. I will never use this company again. Avoid at all costs.

Awful service and awful suppliers.

I wish I had read these reviews before we placed our orders with Robert Dyas. Customer Service is in South Africa for a start. Order one was a foldable sun lounger. It arrived on time but was such rubbish and poor quality we requested a return through Robert Dyas. The supplier, Garden Sanctuary, offered us a 30% discount to keep it. No, it’s not worth it, so we continued to request a refund. The supplier didn’t want to arrange a collection date so Robert Dyas did sort out a date, we just has two threatening emails saying that if we miss the collection we have to keep the chair as it’s impossible to arrange another collection. We don’t intend to miss the collection unless we drop dead but I really don’t need threatening emails. Unfortunately we then ordered a different non foldable sun longer by a different supplier, Rinkit, and they sent that by EVRI. That order is stuck in the delivery depot as they don’t have a vehicle big enough to deliver it! Never again. Avoid Robert Dyas like the plague.

It is a pity I cannot give a 0 star. I purchased plants from Robert Dyas, it turned out they were supplied by Thomas & Morgan another appalling company to deal with (past experience). They arrived late after having to chase them up, a number were dead, but I transplanted them up. They haven't grown and more have died they are so weak, they will not be ready for planting out this summer and will end up on the compost pile. Waited 15 mins on the phone this morning and started reading all the bad reviews, so gave up realising that I will not get anywhere. I will now have to face losing £117.88 and buy from other sources. Defiantly not a company to deal with unless you want to lose your money. How can they carry on trading?!!!!!!

Dreadful after sales and poor quality…

Dreadful after sales and poor quality products. I chose Robert Dyas because I recognised the hight street brand. In reality, they just use other suppliers. If you have a faulty product, they insist on waiting for their supplier to sort the problem out. So, you hear nothing for days unless you chase it. Customer service agents don't follow through or follow up. Over a week after reporting items as faulty and I'm still waiting to learn whether or if the items will be collected. Goodness knows if I'll get a refund.

These people should stick to what they…

These people should stick to what they know i.e. kettles and toasters. I wanted a chair and there were many suppliers, but chose RD due to them having a long history in the UK so I paid the £287.00 and their supplier delivered, so RD are merely a medium for online buying and know nothing of the product. After a year the chair started to fall apart - a spring sprung from underneath and the left arm was coming away from the main chair. This of course didn't happen overnight and within the warrenty period but due to a holiday, I was 7 days out of warrenty when I reported the issue...they didn't want to know!! Many e-mails later and they're still referring me to the manufacturer whose name is nowhere on their discription of the chair. I've informed them that the repair is £150.00 and pointed out that my contract was with them. So have contacted consumer advice for Scotland, who provided an appropriate letter asking them to get involved in "alternative dispute resolution". They came back and needless to say, they didn't want to get involved. An item costing so much should be of merchantable quality for 6 years in England and 5 in Scotland but their staff don't appear to understand Consumer rights in the UK. This whole thing has been so stressful - next step will be small claims court....don't buy from them!!!!!!

Don't by bird tables

I ordered 2 bird tables at a half price sale amount of £35.92 ,incl postage and packaging. One was for me and one for a friend. My friend tried to put it together, but couldn’t. The connecting screws were too short. The structure was too flimsy and unstable. So, I didn't open mine!!
Trying to get through to customer service was a dreadful experience. In the end, I gave up, gave my friend her money back and wrote off over £50 as a bad job.

I ordered a Hot Tub Cover and got Cement Mixer Parts

I ordered a Hot Tub Cover and my order arrived 2 working days later... It looks to be the frame and wheels for a cement mixer . I called Customer Service and they said I had to take a picture and send it to then and they would fix it immediately - and call me back. I did this and heard nothing so I waited 6 hours and called back, hoping to hear what progress had been made and was told my complaint including picture still hadnt been processed by their Team .. Im now waiting on the second Customer Service agent to respond in 30mins ( as agreed ) Fingers crossed . I will update this file accordingly

Two days later and having received to updates from Customer Service my Hot Tub Cover did arrive and I was told the wrong delivery would be collected same day.

Three days later that was still on my drive, despite writing to the company saying I would not be responsible for it …and it was too heavy for me to move

Its no longer there so I presume they collected it

Good price but shocking Customer Service

Unacceptable customer service.

Unacceptable customer service and build quality.
I've ordered a sofa 2 weeks ago.When it arrive I was appalled by the poor fit and quality of materials used.
I spend over an hour trying to get through to the customer service telephone line. The system didn't connect but I was able to hear chitter chatter in the background and this happened several times after multiple attempts I finally go through to only be cut off by the person at the end off the line when I mentioned the phone queuing system is not working properly.
A long story short is all I wanted was to organise a return for the sofa which is well below standards for a £500 sofa.
I will not be buying anything from this company ever again.

Absolutely useless company

Absolutely useless company. Parasol was missing from garden set I ordered. The chat bot asked me to take a picture of the missing item. I only used the chat bot as I spent ages trying to get through on the phone. Customer service non existent. You have to wonder how an item was missing from a sealed box.

If I could I would give them 0 stars. Bought a bathroom mirror which was delivered and very heavy as came complete. We were about to fit it and found screws on door had been over tightened. I called them to see if there was a spare part and they asked for a video of problem which I did. 2 attempts later they said they would chase supplier and as I hadn’t heard anything bought from Argos for half the price and asked for a collection and refund. Still nothing heard so asked to speak to a manager who said busy period. No complaints procedure and just gave me a reference number with nothing in writing. Appalling customer service and time will tell if the item is collected and refunded within two weeks. Won’t be buying from them again despite having no issues in the past. Promised call backs and emails about collection but nothing received. Spent time calling them the last time 50 minutes long including waiting 20 minutes for an answer. Just a retailer not a supplier. Surprised they even get customers. Might have good prices but complaint and customer service is non existent. Don’t buy from them as if an issue with the order you won’t get a collection and refund for a number of weeks.

Worst Company I’ve ever had to deal with

Garden chairs we ordered were delivered on a different day to what had been given but luckily somebody was in.
Quality of product is absolutely shocking with rust already present on the chair legs , splinters protruding out of the wooden arm rests and feet pads dropping out.
Contacted customer services and logged a complaint with Ntokozo.
Got confirmation email about the issues and I responded by sending a list of the problems and asking for my money back but still haven’t had any response from them.
I really wish I had read all the reviews before I ordered as it’s clear this company has massive customer and product quality issues which it appears unwilling to address.

Update… received a email from Marvin fobbing me off for another 12 days whilst they contact the manufacturer even though my contract is with them.
This Company is beyond belief and anybody who buys from them needs to be aware of how they operate.

Disgraceful

0 stars! Ordered item online on 03/04/2025 saying delivery Thursday 10th April. No tracking available. No delivery, phoned Customer Service and asked for a refund as no longer wanted the item. Apparently the supplier is not responding to phone/emails sent so they cannot do anything until they have spoken to them!! although Robert Dyas has taken the order and my money (in excess of £300). In the meantime no-one knows where the order is. When I stated this I am still being told they need to liaise with the supplier. Absolute disgrace so advice would be not to purchase from them as not trustworthy. Interesting to see if a refund will be forthcoming (not holding my breath) or whether I will have to seek help from credit card company. Please, please, avoid as it seems I am not the only one.

Appalling company to deal with in any…

Appalling company to deal with in any capacity. I tried to cancel an order (within 2 hours of placing it) and was told the next day that it was already being dispatched; the dispatch email arrived 8 hours after this.
I had to arrange to return it. It is impossible to drop a parcel off unless in store, I ordered online because I do not live near a store. You cannot leave a parcel in the porch or drop it at a Yodel shop. But are instead expected to be available at any time on a specified day for a Yodel collection, working full time this is impossible. When I told the customer service operative that I work in a hospital department 8-6 I was told that I could arrange an alternative collection day if the slot was unsuitable; there is no option to do this directly with Yodel, and Yodel didn't email with the slot until 10am after which I had already gone to work and couldn't access my phone to try to let them know that I wouldn't be at home. .
Ridiculous method of return, made to be as difficult as possible. I will never use this company again.

I bought a York planter from Robert…

I bought a York planter from Robert Dyas. It finally arrived 3 days ago. I had to take the day off to wait for it to arrive as the delivery company could only tell me the night before what time they would arrive. It came broken. I am still waiting for Robert Dyas to tell me when it will be collected again and when I will get a refund. Again I have been told that they can’t give me a collection slot so I will have to take another day off to wait for them to arrive. Collections only during the week. Very poor service.

Customer service sxxt show

I agree with all the reviews on here,purchased a mirror online,chased up the delivery as hadn't heard anything. Arrived to find cracks and chips all around the edges. Complained and was told I would have to wait 2 weeks so they could get a response from supplier,chased and chased for a collection which they couldn't be bothered to arrange. Eventually refunded. Awful service and customer care,exhausting experience and won't be shopping there again. Take note and good luck. I only wish I had read the reviews first!

Unbelievable

If it was possible to give 0 stars, I would.
My son’s new high sleeper bed arrived in extremely damaged condition, one whole corner broken off the front part, and multiple cracks in other pieces. However, as I was waiting for his old bed to be collected, I didn’t open the box and see this until more than 30 days after delivery. CONTRARY to the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Robert Dyas are refusing to replace the damaged parts. They just keep telling me that because more than 30 days had passed, they cannot do anything.
The customer service has been atrocious, with the same reply copied and pasted to every email I send. This bed cost me almost £400 and there is absolutely no way that it’s usable. My son is so disappointed and at the moment I definitely can’t afford to replace the bed myself, nor should I have to.
Utterly disappointed and honestly shocked by their response.

CHECK THE RETURNS POLICY!

Bought a set of pans online and when they arrived they were a mismatched set! Thought it would be easy enough to get it sorted through a "trusted" company but after filling in a refund/return form and selecting the weekend option for the courier to collect, they contacted me to say that their courier does not work weekends and the only way I could return was to wait in on a select weekday between 8am - 6pm or return it to store (the closest store to myself is 100 miles away) This would mean either taking a full day off work unpaid or travelling a 200 mile round trip to return an item due to no fault of my own!
I asked if there were other options such as me printing off a shipping label and sending it back myself but they said this was not possible. If you work weekdays they are basically backing you into a corner, either lose the money from having time off work or travelling, or just keep the faulty item and get no refund.
I would NEVER buy from this company again.

Brought a slow cooker and upon the…

Brought a slow cooker and upon the first use it smelt electrical and was smoking from base . I unplugged it and phoned the manufacturer who said do not use and return to retailer .
Phoned Robert Dyas quoting email, home address and husbands name ( who paid) and ask them to send HIM an email as to what to do next along with the order number to avoid any confusion in store.
They said they could not do as it had to be him asking. I guess if the house had gone up in flames and he was in it they would not be able to solve dispute at all.
The most unhelpful company ever . To be cont.
