I can’t speak to the quality of the goods sold by Rough Linen — because I’m still waiting for my order. Days turn into weeks and, if you read through some of the comments here, weeks turn into months.

One imagines an enterprise that’s in the business of selling linens would have stock on hand of common sizes. From what I can tell, that’s not how Rough Linen works. They take orders and your money and then commission what you’ve ordered. (As a decoy, the consumer is informed that a shipping label has been created, after which the poor customer is stuck waiting a whole lot longer.)

The result is that, if you need linens in a reasonable amount of time, a competitor may be a better option.

I have ordered numerous (and glorious) items from Rough linen over the years. Aprons, sheets, robes, clothing and towels. When you prefer superb quality and long lasting luxurious linen you can be assured that Rough Linen will deliver!

I've used Rough Linen for years now. I hesitated at first, for one does pay for quality, yet I'm so glad I placed my first order (and more). Rough Linen curtains, bed, bath and table linens have stayed lovely thru many washings, grandkids' overnights and cuddly pets. I'm recently taken with the newest throws. And really I'm as excited to have decided on a new queen-sized summer cover in charcoal! Our Dogue de Bordeaux sometimes has sandy feet when she crawls onto our bed. Problem solved! Lovable dog and pet-friendly linen.

I have had great experience with the pillowcases, duvet covers, sheets, and bath sheets. I think one has to really enjoy the properties of linen--and thick, rough, long-lasting linen at that--to truly appreciate Rough Linen.

Take the bath sheets for instance. If one expects them to be as absorbent and soft as terry cloth, she will be disappointed. The bath sheets will be rough and can take 2 - 3 strokes to remove moisture from an arm. The upside is you'll be mildly exfoliating your skin while you're soaking up the moisture. I love that. The bath sheets (and all other linen products) dry fast too. I love that most of all. I rely on them in these increasingly hot summers. Spread them out to dry, and it won't take long. One day this last summer I had work plus two separate workouts. I needed 3 showers that day. My towel was dry before each one of them.

I own 2. I'm considering a couple more. I was offered an incentive to write a review here. That said, I simply repeated the same review that I wrote, for no reason other than I wanted to, on the Rough Linen site.

The Orkney Linen Flat Sheet is luxuriously ample. It elevates your sleep making each night as though you were at a spa!

I purchased my second pinafore apron from Rough Linen because I used the first one so much I could not bear to be without it when it was in the wash. It is so comfortable, even in the summer, I forget I have it on. It is very well made and gives me great coverage for the messiest jobs in the kitchen. I machine wash and line dry it but have not felt the need to iron it or give it any other special care. I have been using my aprons for several months now and I prefer them to any of my other aprons.

I recently bought the bordered linen throw blanket in Eucalyptus and Sky. The color combo looks modern and cool. I love it and plan to purchase another to use as a gift. Highly recommend!

It’s what I had hoped for: a sweep of cream ground for contrast with the cherry colored drop-leaf table and red-orange wood floors, and the ochre & burnt orange poppy petals for harmony. The substantial drape of quality linen, the hand-blocked multicolored print and mitered corners are typical of Rough Linen. Rough Linen has never failed to earn my trust and admiration.

This site won’t allow a photo attachment but we enjoy it every day. Can’t hope for better than just right.

Rough Linen has now become the first place I go for bedding. They have the highest quality of linen on the market, and the sewing and construction are flawless. Color choices can be a bit limited, but usually contain at least one option that suits my needs. I continue to be impressed by how their bed linens wash and wear over time. Unlike linen sheets and pillowcases I've tried from other brands, the ones from Rough Linen seem to get even better over time.

I have ordered bed linens, a robe, apron, and multiple tea towels from Rough Linen. The fabric is sturdy, my linens still look great after 8 years. Definitely fits a fewer, but better lifestyle. Once when a button cracked in the dryer, they sent me replacements for free.

Rough Linen has a wide variety of bed linens which I intend to purchase in the near future. The Apron I bought is amazing! It’s soft and easy to ware. I have been warring linen clothing for some time now because of its simplicity, durability and the fact that it is living fiber.
I also intend to purchase their shawl which I will use a lot during the winter months in TX.
Rough Linen family is very conscientious not just with their products, but also want their customers to be happy with their purchases. It’s wonderful to do business with a company that truly cares about what they make and their customers.

I recently purchased a linen bathrobe from Rough Linen. It is a well made garment that feels great after bathing. And I think it'll get better with age.
I’ve purchased other products from Rough Linen and I have always had a good experience. Good quality products in a variety of colors. Well worth it.

Rough Linen has a great selection of top quality linen products. They take great care to produce beautifully sewn pieces. Everything I have purchased from them has worn well and will last a long time. My latest order has been for more table linens and they are the same superior quality as the ones I bought several years ago. It is a bonus that they make their products in California!

Exquisite luxury exuding utilitarian functionality. A unique experience! Dries quickly while providing an invigoratingly grounding experience. Leaves skin clean, fresh, yet perfect for your after bath/shower routine-whatever your after soap and water routine may be-skin feels better than when using a cotton towel. No need to constantly wash bulky loads of towels. RL has updated the look and feel of the room and refreshingly pleasant to skin! Rough Linen has always been fantastic. I've always been pleased with their quality - especially the Orkney linen, my favorite. I do my best to leave reviews for everything, and I would *love* some purple and orange tea towels for the upcoming fall season. I'll continue to buy for them for all of my sheets and towel needs!

I have TWO linen pinafore/aprons from Rough Linen. I literally LIVE in them! The pockets are so helpful to carry around things you need on hand. Such quality linen!
