Rustic Borneo arranged for us an excellent trip during which everything ran smoothly and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the accommodation and (for the most part) the food on offer.

Particularly we would like to mention the hosts friendliness, expertise and communication skills for the various activities.

The only reason this didn't reach 5 stars were the following points from our perspective:

- Food trip day could be improved, Lukhwant was EXCELLENT, but the horse riding was a bit unnecessary and random and out of the way. This also made the day really long. My advice would be to start later and make the day shorter, perhaps having free time before the traditional dinner which again was excellent.

- Make the itinerary pick up times clearer, we had to check as the font was so small that we didn't realise the difference between the draft itinerary before travelling and the detailed one provided on pick-up (this is partly our fault which I accept).

- The mountain guide for Mount Kinabalu appeared really uninterested in us and spoke poor English. He essentially followed us up and down the mountain (I guess this may be out of your control) but was a shame considering how nice the other people had been on the trip.

To finish on a positive, particularly brilliant were both Selingan and Lankayan Islands (particularly Lankayan) and the rafting.

Overall an excellent, good value and well organised trip, for which we thank Rustic Borneo (Joe) for arranging. We would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

Helt fantastisk service og planlægning fra Rustic Borneo. Vi fik lynhurtig tilbagemelding (på dansk, selvom firmaet er i Malaysia), yderst kvalificeret sparring undervejs og vi endte med at få en skræddersyet ferie, som bare klappede og spillede.
De to udfordringer vi løb ind i undervejs - den ene grundet ændrede anbefalinger fra udenrigsministeriet og den anden en fejl omkring en hotelbooking - blev løst lynhurtigt og førstnævnte endda proaktivt af Rustic Borneo.
Transport, planlægning, korrespondance, support, anbefalinger og sparring - alt spillede fra Rustic Borneos side. Og det mundede ud i en for os unik og fantastisk ferie som vi er glade for, at vi bookede via Rustic Borneo.
En ekstra stor tak og ekstra meget ros til Peter Stenberg ved Rustic.

Super planlagt tur.
Alt fra første henvendesle til var tilbage i DK fungerede perfekt. Hurtige svar på mails og forespørgsler. Lyttede og fabdt gode løsninger. Selv da det af forskellige årsager blev nødvendigt atlave programmet lidt om, var de hurtige og effeltive og gav samtidig plads til at man selv kunne komme med ideer.
Selve turen var perfekt oga lt klappede. alle transporter fungerede og aldrig ventetider.
Kan varmt anbefale dette selskab og vil hels sikkert rejse med samme firma igen hvi vi skal til Borneo igen.

Alt fungerede efter planen og overalt blev vi mødt med venlighed.

We had a great travel! Everything was exellent: the help, planning, accommodation, food, experience... everything! We are so happy with the trip!

We did 4 weeks of travelling across South East Asia. Especially in the planning, we got a lot of help and advises. I can highly recommend this company.

Super fin service både i planlægningsfasen og på destinationen. Vi har haft en fantastisk ferie. Alle hoteller og resorts var super gode og med meget servicemindet personale.
Alt gik efter planen. Vi kan varmt anbefale Rustic Borneo.

Vi fremlagde vores ferieønsker til Rustic Borneo - en kombineret tur til Singapore, Borneo og Bali - i alt 17 dage for fem personer. Vi fik et super godt og meget personligt rejseforslag, hvor alle vores ønsker til fulde var opfyldt. Vi havde under vores tur hele otte flyvninger (efter eget valg) og boede på 5 forskellige resorts og lodges - alle i top katergori. Ved ankomst til de forskellige destinationer stod vores "private" guide/chauffør klar - der var på intet tidspunkt nogen form for ventetid - alt klappede 100%. Vil til enhver tid anbefale Rustic Borneo - hvis der ønskes en skræddersyet og personlig rejse.

Overall it was a okay experience. The guides from Rustic Borneo were not great, they did not interact with us much, just drove us to/from places.
Maybe because their english wasn't great, we were not sure. The restaurants the guides took us to were not great. Rungus Longhouse was not a great experience because when we got there no one was there to actually talk to us. We were just given our room and were pretty much left on our own, when the whole point was to engage with indigenous people. Don't think I would use this agency again.

Kan kun anbefale Rustic Borneo på det varmeste. Vi havde valgt ikke at tage en pakkeløsning, og fik i samarbejde med Lotte selv sammensat vores rejse, og alt var som vi ønskede :-) Vil 100% sikkert fremover booke rejser igennem Rustic Borneo.

Spent two weeks travelling through Sabah with mum, dad and 11 year boy and 8 year girl, on an itinerary organised by Rustic Borneo. Le Meridien KK was great, snorkel trip from Jesselton pier and Zip line was great, Fig Tree farm stay in Kiulu valley was excellent, Sepilok forest retreat was ok, Green View lodge and river safari was average and a long way to travel from Sandakan (2.5 hours on a very average road), Lankayan island with diving, snorkelling and turtle hatching was a real highlight for the whole family (could have spent 4 nights here, 2 was not quite enough), Shangri-La Rasa Ria was a fantastic way to end the holiday.
Throughout the trip Rustic Borneos organisation was seamless - definitely recommend using them.

Rustic Borneo ensured we had the best possible experience on our holiday in Borneo. Transfers were seamless, all our accommodation in Sabah was flawless and our guides were just amazing.

Havde booket hoteller, tur ud i junglen, mountain bike tur, dagstur til bjerget mm. Vi blev hentet præcist, ekstrem venlige chauffører, super guide Alex på mountain bike turen, alt var som lovet, så kan kun anbefale Rustic Borneo Travel.

Jeg kan ikke anbefale Rustic Borneo nok. Hele turen har været fantastisk og alt har kørt som vi drømte om. Vi startede ellers rigtigt skidt. Vores fly var 5 timer forsinket ved ankomsten til Kota Kinabalu, hvor vi først var lidt over midnat, men Rex fra Rustic Borneo stod klar og tog imod os og havde samtidigt sørget for at der lå en båd klar til os i havnen, så vi kunne blive sejlet ud til Gaya Ressort og komme i gang med ferien. Rustic Borneo har en hotline, som svarer altid og er lynhurtige til at løse enhver situation. Det er virkelig meget værd. Rustic Borneo have på vores forslag lavet en 4 uger tur rundt på Borneo og Bali, hvor de havde booket alle hoteller og stod for transporten. På flere af hotellerne havde vi helt klart fået det bedste værelse inden for kategorien. Alt klappede og vi har kun ros og anbefalinger til Rustic Borneo, lige fra planlægningen af turen til gennemførelsen.

In general we were very happy with the trip and therefore with Rustic Borneo - our only complaint is that of lack communication from Joe before hols and during hols when plane was cancelled.

My partner and I had the most amazing trip organised by rustic Borneo. It was so perfectly organised and we really couldn't complain about a single thing. The staff were incredibly friendly and all of the accomodation was amazing. The day trips and tours are something we will remember forever. Borneo is a must do if you love nature and incredible wildlife and rustic Borneo tours made it that much better.
