They just dont care
I emailed Sandwell College on 10 September to ask about a Level 5 course. They replied within two days and advised me to attend an enrolment day at the college to get more information.
I therefore took half a day off work and went to the college in person. However, when I arrived, Hassan from the Business department explained that the enrolment day was mainly for students aged 16–24 and that my enquiry about the Level 5 course needed to be dealt with by a more senior member of staff.
I really appreciate Hassan's help. At least he took the time to explain the situation, gave me a clear answer and provided me with the relevant contact details.
Unfortunately, that was where the good experience ended. I tried contacting the relevant person but received no response. About a week ago, I emailed the Enquiries Team again asking who I should contact to get information about the course, and I still haven't received a reply.
It is extremely frustrating that I followed the college's advice, took half a day off work and travelled there, only to find out that I had been directed to the wrong enrolment session.
For an educational institution, I would expect the Enquiries Team to at least know where to direct someone who is simply asking for information about one of their courses. Based on my experience, the communication and organisation have been very disappointing.
I genuinely feel sorry for prospective students who have to go through this just to get basic course information.
