I am appalled that having asked for a washing machine manual and paid the £1.49 that this company in addition subsequently took £24.90 from my account for a subscription.
I clearly did not wish for this and would advise anyone to steer clear of them. I have been in touch with my bank and have emailed secondmanual regarding a refund.

Conned into making a £1.49 payment for a non-existent mobility scooter manual, then when I complained they also told me about the surreptitious £24.90 subscription scam. I have repeatedly emailed with them to no avail, there is just no acknowledgement that they have not provided the manual I bought & refuse to refund my money. I also don’t trust the cancellation process on their website.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Paid for a manual which wasn't available. Only found out it was a subscription when I closed the account. This is a TOTAL SCAM do not use them.

Like other reviewers commenting on the secondmanual website, I paid an initial fee for a manual and two days later was automatically charged a monthly subscription fee of £24.90. They have now agreed to cancel further subscriptions but not the first one. I questioned this method of obtaining payment and was told the option to cancel a subscription within 72 hours is shown on their website. However, It is very unlikely that most people looking for a manual will want or need to pay a significant monthly subscription fee. The conclusion must be that it is a highly questionable method of obtaining additional payments from their customers

Suckered into making a £1.49 payment for a non-existent manual, then discovered the surreptitious £24.90 subscription scam. Bank have to freeze or cancel credit card, rather than target this company for individual blocking. Through and through scam, and I certainly don’t trust the cancellation process on their website.

This site is a bunch of shameless thieves, crooks and scammers !! Therefore they should be closed and banned.
My bad experience with them is pretty much similar to most of the stories I've read from other unhappy customers.
I ordered an user manual for a multifunction tester for which I was charged £1.49 so I paid using my bank card. Further to the transaction I was informed that shortly I will receive an email with the details to login on the website to download the pdf format manual. This never happened so I called the customer service to make enquiries about how I can get the material I paid for. They told me then to send an email with the last 4 digits of the card I pays with and they will reply with the manual attached. I paid for this purchase on 03.06.2025 after 8PM when customer service was closed so I called them next day morning. I finally received after a while the email from them with the pdf file attached. That was on 04.06.2025.
Next day, on 05.06.2025 I tried to pay to a store I buy regularly from but the payment was denied because my card was luckily frozen by the bank because of a suspicious transaction as someone tried to withdraw a payment of £24.90 from my card. I went then online and noticed that the payment was requested by the same company I paid the £1.49 for the manual. That happened out of the blue without any notice or invoice or communication which in legal terms is called theft.
I called the straight away customer service to request explanations and a lady with a bad attitude tried to fool me asking me for a copy of the transaction. Obviously I didn't fall for that trick and I demanded to tell me how they dare to request payment for something I never received prior notification or invoice. In that moment the customer service representative became irritated and raised the voice advising me to call for further assistance Monday to Saturday between 8AM till 8PM. This is a typical behaviour of fraudsters.
Please write as many experiences as possible to make people aware about this crooks.

I have also been charged for "premium access" which I didn't subscribe to. I had initially paid for a manual, which they sent wrong one, I rang customer service who I argued with, no apology from them, but at least he did cancel premium access future payments, but I still seem to have to stomach £24.90 charge. I think this is a scamming company. Also I tried to email them but it has come back as email address not recognised. I also note on reply from them regarding reviews, it is the same automatic response.

Paid £1.49 for a manual and was told my search for the manual was 100% complete and was also told, ‘Your manual is available now’
However, they not only did not have the correct manual, they then proceeded to charge me a monthly fee of, £24.99 for services not provided.
In a bid to take money they should not have taken, this company has done more damage to their reputation.

This company is a rip off. I only gave 1 star because it won't let me go any lower, otherwise it would have been a minus. I paid less than £2 for 1 manual, and then, for the next 2 months they took £24.90 each time before I realised it. So , in actual fact, I paid over £50 for 1 manual.
A total rip off company.

Misleading Charges — Auto-Subscribed Without Clear Consent.
I made what I thought was a simple, one-time purchase of a user manual for £1.49 — only to discover days later that my card had been charged an additional £24.90 for a so-called “Premium subscription” I never knowingly signed up for.
At no point during checkout was it made clear that this purchase would enroll me in a recurring service, nor was the cancellation window (72 hours) highlighted in any transparent way. It felt deceptive by design.
When I contacted support, I was told this automatic subscription was “in the terms” and it was my responsibility to cancel it. That is unacceptable. Passive consent buried in fine print is not valid, informed consent.
After reading reviews from others, it’s clear I’m not alone. This appears to be a pattern of exploitative billing practices — quietly enrolling users in paid subscriptions and hoping they won’t notice until after they've been charged.
If you’re considering buying from this site: be extremely cautious. You may end up paying far more than you intended — and good luck getting a refund.

I also was ripped off by this company. Wanted a manual for my cooker which was £1.40 approx and inadvertently clicked the subscribe button . They never sent an email acknowledging my subscription and refused to reimburse me. Time I discovered this I was nearly £50 out.Don't deal with them it's a scam. They said they would get in touch , needless to say they haven't

If I could have left minus stars I would have done so.
These people are fraudsters and CRIMINALS.
I have purchased manuals from other web sites without any issue. I paid £24.90 for a downloaded Zanussi washing machine manual. They have invoiced five consecutive months before I discovered this fraud.
Apparently the credit card company can do nothing without actually cancelling the card. If the banks put their house in order they should be able to put this company on a black list.

Yes, a scam indeed. Just spotted the £24.90 charge on my account and then found this had been going on monthly since January (5 months). They claim I signed up for “Premium Access” when I paid £1.67 for a manual. They have’generously’ cancelled future payments but will not return those already made. Beware!
