I’m getting a lot out of this mentoring program, more than I expected, even though I have been using Amazon ads for a couple of years. There is a lot I didn’t understand. It’s a steep learning curve.

“There’s no place like home… there’s no place like home…” I thought, as I signed up for April Cox’s Self-Publishing Made Simple course. I had been writing, editing, and revising children’s short stories for over twenty years, but felt lost in the overwhelming world of publishing. I had heard countless discouraging stories about the pitfalls of the publishing industry.
In this journey, April Cox took on the role of Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. I followed the yellow brick road through Zoom classes, which included both video sessions and workbook activities. Along the way, I learned valuable lessons from the Lion, who sought courage; the Tin Woodman, who yearned for a heart; and the Scarecrow, who craved a brain. I realized that self-publishing was achievable, giving me the knowledge I needed. I received professional editing from Bobbie Hinman and had my illustrations and stories beautifully designed by Praise Saflor. Although I had the passion to publish, I initially felt I lacked the courage to do so. Thankfully, Toto, represented by Denise Walnoffer, supported me throughout the process. With her help, I successfully launched three books on Amazon.
The journey down the yellow brick road was challenging and time-consuming, and my learning curve was steep. I managed tasks such as obtaining ISBNs, copyrighting, designing with Canva, navigating KDP, and creating newsletters, among many others. My investment in April Cox’s Self-Publishing Made Simple course not only helped me realize my dream of publishing but also filled my heart with joy, knowing that there truly is “no place like home” in the world of self-publishing.

I am not in the usual target market of wanna-be authors, since I already am successfully self published. However, I very much want and need input on self publishing and marketing books for kids. I am delighted that she offers this coaching.

In my experience, Little Labradoodle Publishing is A+. I was delighted when I received the Puppy Pickup Day Gift Set. Almost like a child, I eagerly pulled out each item from the box, finding that each had its own unique message of joy. The cuddle toy is adorable, along with the book! I'm sure that when it's read to kids, or when those that are old enough to read, hear the message, they'll squeal with happiness that Brady's journey of bravery and determination brings.

Helpful Intro to Self-Publish Children's Books
The program, created by April Cox, follows a 90-day curriculum which takes the writer through a step-by-step process to independently publishing their book. The curriculum includes relevant video offerings to accompany the lessons, follow-up exercises for deeper understanding of the content, and invaluable guest speakers.
Having now completed the course, I can say April offers a wealth of resources and brings true expertise to the program. She truly knows her stuff!

I enjoy that April Cox is there for authors. She have free and paid workshops. She is dedicated to helping authors help themselves and encourage us along the way. She is there to guide and protect us!
