Excellent service and communication from the kids at shapeways , definitely be using them again !!

Ordered late on a Monday night (UK) and delivered to my door (UK) on lunchtime Thursday! That is good service! The product ordered is exquisite! It knocks a similar resin product out of the ballpark, so I’m very pleased to have found Shapeways and will use them again.
Slick service and handling, competitive price, postage and packing, well, it was international and we’d all like it for peanuts but I got what I wanted and it was top quality, so I’ll bite the bullet on that (doubled the price effectively).

Buyer beware: Shapeways.Com and Modibot.Com have quite a clever scam!
I ordered an item because 3D printing sounded cool. I received the item but had a problem with it. I contacted Shapeways. They told me I had to contact the designer (Modibot) directly, so I did. Modibot agreed to refund my money BUT Modibot does not have the ability to process the refund; the sale was made through Shapeways. Shapeways stated that Modibot must PERSONALLY refund the money to me; Shapeways does NOT do refunds. Clever, huh?!?! Shapeways sent me to Modibot and Modibot sent me back to Shapeways, an endless loop going nowhere.
The moral of this story: if you order from Shapeways OR Modibot make sure you can afford to throw that money away. If you have a problem with the order, it is your loss.

Print materials aren't always consistent as some materials are outsourced to many places.

Also customer service are 50/50. Some are super supportive while some refuse to acknowledging their fault.

Poor customer service, poor communication. I suspect the large price increase is due to low order volume.

They have little or no competition at the moment, however they will eventually have to compete with like company's that will see the tremendous opportunity 3D is.

excellent quality at very good price - I am using shapeways for all my 3D prints in precious metal and very tough nylon plastic since 2016 - in rare cases when something went wrong with an order a replacement was sent immediately at no additional cost

I desing modelling accessories that are printed by Shapeways mostly every month, their printing service is simply excellent and the post sales aid service is always in time to resolve any kind of trouble. Really great!

in general Shapeways is a very good job for 3D printing. I like the fact, that they have a 100% perfect service with very helpful and friendly agents.
On the other side, the shipping costs are for small shipment too expensive and the prices are no longer as low as they have been in the past. Several price upgrades enjoyed a lot of my customers.

Had a great experience shopping the variety of items, and even when a printing was damaged, Shapeways facilitated replacement trials and a refund. I plan to order again! Very creative company.

I have found that Shapeways over the last few years of use provide excellent add on parts for my scratch building of boats. When ever there have been any problems they have an excellent team to resolve the issue. All in all I have been very happy with my use of Shapeways.

I've been using Shapeways for model railway components for 4 years and have had some 50 designs manufactured, some in quantities of up to 30 items. 3D printing is one of the very useful CAD applications I use, which also include laser cutting, metal etching and PCB manufacture. Most components are Versatile Plastic, which is a great material for mechanical components, brackets, bases etc. These are generally items which are out of sight. It is strong and has good self lubricating characteristics. I use Fine Detail Plastic for items which are visible, such as parts for buildings, railway vehicles and railway signals. On some earlier jobs, Shapeways' staff were very helpful in correcting errors I'd made. Delivery has always been fast. My interest is getting models made, not in the use of 3D printer, so Shapeways provide an ideal service for me. Stephen. Sydney Australia

Bad:Prices highly volatile,good: service and shipping time

Shapeways has been great to work with. I have ordered everything from plastic to NC old and I have been extremely pleased with the quality. On the occasion that I’ve had to contact customer support, they have been very responsive. Highly recommend!

The models that I have ordered at Shapeways have all been of great quality and precise details. Had a little trouble with shipping the last time- it seems to be taking longer to produce and ship out models as of late. Customer service has been very responsive with issues and questions

Top 3D printing service for artists and makers, both plastics and metal.
Most affordable sintered stainless steel as far as I know. Sls nylon cheap for big volumes with high void ratio.
Also cast metals, from brass to platinum, not easy to find elsewhere at those prices.
The design rules are very strict, sometimes too strict, but the results are usually excellent. The rare printing errors are managed quickly and totally refunded if correctly documented.
