Dr. Johnston and her team at Shine Dentistry are truly the best in NYC. I can’t recommend them enough. When I first visited Dr. Johnston four years ago, I had four cavities. Since then, I haven’t had a single one thanks to her incredible care and guidance.

I actually look forward to going to the dentist now. The office has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the entire team goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable.

They’ve helped me navigate my transition to new insurance and made the entire process seamless. Truly the best care and services all around!

I’ve been to Shine Dentistry for so many things - invisalign, fillings, whitening AND an implant! Ive loved every minute and my smile looks awesome! People compliment it now. Recommend - all of the doctors there really are super talented.

Awesome environment and very clean office! The entire staff were very polite and friendly, willing to answers all my financial concerns. I have to shout out to Dr. Johnston! Very professional and caring! I have definitely found my new dentist.

This is an update
I found a new dentist who agreed with my previous dentist of over 10 years. Elena Johnston And her crew used scare tactics to try and grift more money out of me. For one the 3 times a year cleaning is not necessary unless one’s teeth/gums are in bad shape. The fluoride treatment they try to give at extra cost is questionable also and probably not necessary. Fluoride can have some negative side effects. It’s in our water and toothpaste often has it. They definitely should not be offering it without a warning.

My first review:
My dentist of over 10 years retired. He sold his practice to Dr. Elena Johnston. My former dentist managed to get and keep my teeth and gums in good shape. He was remarkable. From the start I didn’t have a good feeling with the new dentist but gave it a chance. I believe there was an attempt to get more services out of me using scare tactics which I won't go into here but believe me they were real. This was the opposite of the past 10 years. In the end I found Dr. Johnston and Shine Dentistry were not trustworthy.
Elena Johnston's response (see below) just confirms her blatant dishonesty. If you read my complaint it doesn't address the payment schedule for services. It does address the attempt to get more services out of me using scare tactics. Services my previous dentist of 10 plus years never recommended. Shine Dentistry is completely untrustworthy in my book.
