The workers neglected to pack and take part of my consignment. When I noticed immediately after they had left and reported this, I was told than it would be too expensive for Schleppers to make good, even thought far fewer boxes had been used that what we had estimated, and that they would not take the trouble to make good. I was given no adjustment on the fee for this incomplete shipment. I was very surprised and disappointed because I had had a very good experience with Schleppers when I used the firm for a past shipping assignment!

The crew was amazing (led by Robinson) - on time (actually a bit early which was great); did a fantastic job protecting possessions and our place - and worked like we were all that mattered. This was my family's 4th time using them -

My wife and I hired Shleppers on the recommendation of a friend and we had an amazing experience. We did a self-pack and had no issues what so ever! From our first consultation, we had help building an inventory to get an accurate quote which was consistent through the move. The office handled a certificate of insurance without issue as well. The team came on our moving day, worked quickly and professionally, and knocked out our move without issue. They were friendly, professional and did a great job. They also took extreme care with our furniture and made sure not to scratch our floors. You could tell that they were an experienced team and we were both very thrilled with the service we received. If we have to hire movers again, we would definitely be using Shleppers again.

To Fran to set up the move right through the final move destination drop off. Professionalism through and through. Oh did I mention they rescued me after another company (horrible irresponsible mover co from LI) didn’t finish the job! Left message Sunday evening and they moved me Tuesday!

I honestly can’t say enough wonderful things about these four men. I have so much respect for them. They worked incredibly hard through a very long and demanding day, and they were kind, patient, compassionate, and genuinely went out of their way to help me in every way possible.

I was moving from a four-bedroom house with furniture going to three different places—Florida, my son, and my new home just one mile away. After doing most of the packing myself with the help of friends, I was overwhelmed and still had so much to do.

These men made the entire experience so much better than I could have imagined. They worked so hard, treated everything with care, and most importantly, treated me with kindness and understanding during a very big transition in my life.

I am truly grateful for all they did. They were absolutely fantastic, and I have so much respect and appreciation for each of them.

The men that were sent arrived on time with their trucks and worked steadily with my supervision in packing, shipping, and unpacking. Although the price was high, you get what you pay for. The office was in constant touch with me as we advanced to each step to my new location and to my storage location. All was wrapped carefully and labeled.

Experience #1: we just used Shleppers for our move from Connecticut to Manhattan. As mentioned below, we also used them on our move to CT a few years ago. Again, they did not disappoint. Easy to work with, great communications, and the crews who did the packing and loading and the delivery, were great. Everything arrived in good shape, something we always worry about. Plus, their price was very competitive. So, after now having used them twice I can recommend them even more highly!!!

Experience #2: This involves the move of a 1 bedroom apartment from NYC to Connecticut. The team arrived on time, got the packing quickly done, drove to Connecticut and then unloaded our items. Total time was about 5 hours. All items arrived in perfect shape, including some fragile glassware.

Excellent, professional, great prices, thorough communication, beyond professional and highly skilled. Yes, I would use them again! The professionals who assisted with planning and moving were phenomenal!

I paid for full-service unpacking — never got it. Property damaged. Bed bug dispute stonewalled. Months of "final offers" that kept changing.

I hired Shleppers for a full-service move that included professional unpacking. Here's what actually happened:

Unpacking never delivered: I paid roughly $300–350 for unpacking. The crew only partially removed items from boxes and threw out the packing material. I was left with stacks of unopened boxes throughout my apartment, which I photographed at the time. After weeks of disputing this, Shleppers' final offer was an $85 partial refund for a service I paid for in full and never received.

Property damage: The movers damaged a wall while mounting my TV (later very poorly repaired) and damaged a large plant during the move.

Bed bug infestation: Within days of the move, I discovered a bed bug infestation and had to wrap and discard a mattress, headboard, bed frame, and rug. Shleppers denied responsibility, telling me it "would be very difficult" for them to accept liability, without offering any evidence for where the infestation actually came from.

Customer service: Every reply took days. Each settlement was called "full and final," then quietly revised again once I pushed back — five separate times. When I mentioned I might share my experience publicly, their claims rep's response was to tell me to make sure anything I posted was "100% accurate" and that they'd "take all necessary steps to protect our company's 48-year reputation." That's not customer service — that's a warning shot aimed at an honest review.

If you're comparing movers, get every service in writing, and think twice before paying extra for anything (like unpacking) that isn't guaranteed to actually happen.
