Online instructions not correct. Bring photo ID
Online instructions ask for all your details, get you to pay then tell you that you’ll get an email with your entry code, insurance details and contract.
That’s wrong. Instead you have to go in with photo ID and repeat the whole sign up exercise again in paper form. If you turn up without ID you are rejected and rudely dismissed with “it’s not my fault”. Wasted hours of my time.

Great experience!
We had to use Shurgard to store the whole contents of our 1 bedroom flat after being made homeless. It was a ridiculously stressful and horrible time, but in all our dealings with Shurgard, the staff at the Forest Hill branch were WIZARD! They were friendly, understanding, super upbeat and it was the smoothest experience ever. It was good value and the storage was easy to access and all made really convenient. Kind of sad about the circumstances, because otherwise it was a delightful experience from end to end :)

Shurgard crap
Well. My sister rented a unit for 1 pound (which was a special deal for now) on a Friday.
As I am moving myself I wanted to rent a unit for myself on the same deal, but I was told because my sister has rented last week I was told I could not rent a unit.
Which is wrong I have put in a complaint and have been told they are looking into it, yet I can still rent a unit at full price, which is wrong.
So I had to rent a unit at another storage unit which was more expensive.
I will never use or recommend Shurgard to anyone.
