Ik had een onderdeel nodig, echter had ik mijn aankoopbon niet meer. Het viel dus niet meer onder garantie. Ook heben ze nog geen depot in Europa, enkel in de UK. Nouja na even heen en weer mailen. Komt het onderdeel toch. Heeel fijne service!
Premium Prices, Budget-Level Support—Avoid Simplehuman
There’s an old saying: "Buy cheap, buy twice; buy expensive, buy once." The idea is that a premium product should last longer and save you money in the long run. Simplehuman, however, completely fails to deliver on that promise.
I’ve had to RMA two of their 58L Rectangular Sensor Trash Cans (different colors, same model) due to recurring sensor and lid failures. After months of delays, they approved my warranty replacement—but five months later, it still hasn’t shipped. Instead, they tried offering me store credit that didn’t even cover the replacement cost.
Looking deeper, I found I wasn’t alone. Multiple customers report the same issues across different generations of this model—sensor malfunctions, lid failures, and power problems. A so-called “premium” product should not have widespread defects. Meanwhile, brands like iTouchless, Brabantia, and Kohler offer comparable products without the service nightmare.
If you ever need support from Simplehuman, expect delays, excuses, and frustration. The only way to get a real response is by filing complaints with the California Attorney General (oag.ca.gov) and BBB (bbb.org).
Simplehuman’s marketing might say "buy expensive, buy once"—but in reality, you’re just paying more for the privilege of fighting for a warranty they won’t honor.

Dès réception/déballage dysfonctionnements constatés de la poubelle qui s'ouvre toute seule sans raison apparente, aucun bruit ambiant, la poubelle se met à s'ouvrir seule alors que personne ne passe devant, et pas de bruits. Bien sûr, capteur neuf et propre!
Evidemment dysfonctionnement aléatoire, s'ouvre seule, puis se referme quelques secondes après, le défaut réapparait plusieurs fois dans la journée.
réponse du SAV Simplehuman : nettoyer capteur, pas de bruits ambiants=> OK
Demande de vidéo "explicite"... très simple bien sûr de rester cloîtrer devant sa poubelle près à dégainer le téléphone dès la moindre réaction de la poubelle, tout ça pour ne la voir s'ouvrir qu'une fois puisque bien évidemment elle ne se réouvrira pas dans la seconde qui suit, et que bien sûr il faut tenir tout ça dans une vidéo compacte transférable par mail!!
Bref SAV inexistant qui botte en touche, marketing très fort en revanche, mais comme souvent, très fort jusqu'à la vente, puis plus personne ne veut assumer ses responsabilités ensuite. Je ne sais pas comment de tels industriels s'imaginent perdurer dans le temps en apportant un service aussi médiocre après vente.

Mijn sensor pump was defect . Apparaat cadeau gekregen dus niet in bezit van aankoopbon . Na mailwisseling over eventuele oplossingen heeft de service afdeling besloten mij een geheel nieuw apparaat toe te sturen . De sensor pomp hadden wij al meerdere jaren , tot volle tevredenheid in ons bezit en bevalt ons uitstekend.
Sent us the wrong item TWICE, then stole our personal property
On 12/6, I placed an order for a stainless steel step trash can. When we received our order, it was a white can instead. I contacted customer service, and they placed another order for the original color we ordered. Later, we received the replacement order and it was again the wrong color (white). They place a third order. Now at this point, we are leaving town for Christmas, and I contacted customer service again, saying that we would need FedEx to pickup TWO trash cans BEFORE 4PM on 12/23. Customer service put in the FedEx pickup/call tag for that day, but they failed to put it in for both trash cans. They also failed to inform me (or perhaps isn’t aware - there’s an opportunity to educate your reps here) that with it being FedEx Ground, the window for pickup would be from 8AM to 8PM. I was home all day until we left town at about 5:30pm. They did not come before 4pm that day as requested, but we were also not going to put two expensive trash cans outside our door for anyone to take.
The next day (Christmas Eve) we received a delivery outside our front door for a Christmas gift that had been delayed (two large boxes containing suitcases). Instead of verifying the contents of the boxes, FedEx stole our personal property thinking they were the trash cans for pickup. When we got back from being out of town (12/27), we went through the hassle of printing return labels and loading up our car with both giant trash cans and dropped them off at FedEx. We only found out that our luggage had been sent to Simple Human because they notified us that we sent them the incorrect item.
Regardless of the outcome with FedEx, the point I’m trying to make here is that Simple Human is at fault for this entire ordeal. If they had sent us the correct trash can that we originally ordered the FIRST time, all of this would have been preventable. An apology simply doesn’t cut it, for all the time and money wasted from this situation. You’d think buying directly from SH would have guaranteed a smooth and luxurious process, but this is hands down the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I wouldn’t recommend SH to anyone, and I certainly won’t be buying liners or any other products from SH in the future. The quality of your service should match the quality of your products, and it simply just doesn’t stack up.

Listen up, queens and beauty enthusiasts! Your girl has been a DEVOTED simplehuman stan for years - we're talking trash cans, soap pumps, the WORKS. Their products have been giving me LIFE... until now.
When my sister's original simplehuman mirror gave its last death drop (battery died), she bought another one faster than you can say "sickening." But what arrived was about as stable as a baby giraffe in heels.
The TEA: The base isn't flat, honey! We've got the receipts - a side-by-side video showing her old mirror standing firm like a veteran queen, while this new one is wobbling more than a first-time performer in 6-inch platforms. And before you ask - yes, we tried the replacement. Same. Exact. Problem.
Now, customer service was polite but kept insisting this wobble was "functioning as intended" and "within expected parameters." They really looked at a video of their old mirror standing perfectly still next to this wobbly new one and said "Yes, this is the fantasy."
The gag is:
1. This new model needs more touching than the old one (it's got dimming features)
2. At this price point? Baby, NO
3. Their previous model was stable as a house down boots - we literally have the proof!
simplehuman really said "Wobble? We don't know her" and tried to convince us this is normal. Girl, I've seen more stability in a season 1 relationship on RuPaul's Drag Race.
Don't get me wrong - their other products still slay. But this mirror? It's gonna be a no from me, dawg.
PSA: If you still buy it, test that stability the MOMENT it arrives. Don't wait to discover you've got a wobbly queen on your hands when you're trying to beat that face.

Een geurabsorber gekocht (2 stuks) die je aan de onderkant van de klep moet plakken. Prullenbak is ook van SimpleHuman. Het ontwerp is niet goed doordacht. Elke keer dat je de vuilniszak wilt vervangen, raak je met de bak de absorber aan en valt die in de zak. Het ontwerp is dus niet goed. Melding van gedaan en werd mij gevraagd een video van de situatie te maken. Daarna niets meer vernomen. Jammer, want het leek mij wel een handig product.
Horrific Customer Service
Horrific Customer Service. My package was supposed to be delivered in 2 days. After the package was a week late and the shipper could not identify a delivery date, Simple Human still would not issue a refund. Well, at least that is what they told me via Chat. Every time I called the customer support number, it would disconnect me after 15 minutes due to call volume. I eventually disputed the purchase with my credit card company.

Terrible customer services , scammer still away from they they don’t match price after it went on sale few days after purchase and its still within the 30 days return they want me to return the item and pay for shipment and than purchace the same item on sale , that’s ridiculous.
Their products are made to break
This was probably said before, but I feel like I must add my confirmation to others wondering. I purchased the hello kitty soap sensor pumps in 2021 as well as a regular one. They have slowly not been able to hold charge for very long and there is no option to change out the batteries. You basically will have a piece of junk that needs to be thrown away after three years which I think is not worth it at all. There is a diy video online on how to basically cut the thing open with a razor blade, buy an amazon battery and then epoxy the thing back together. All in all, this made me lose all confidence in the brand and i will be telling everyone I know as well. I will never buy stuff from them again.

Purchased 2 one for myself and another as a gift as I thought it was a good design and practical product. Big disappointment! I placed mine on the side of bathroom sink where it meant to be. The soap dispenser keeps dispensing soap for no reason resulting in messy puddles. I still have the box as it is a recent purchase. Not happy at all do not recommend! Rude costumer service response
I have reached out to go beyond the troubleshooting tips of the website for my sensor mirror . The sales assistant on the chat offered me a discount for a new one and did not help me with any explanation. I asked his/her name, asked for recycling of the mirror, no assistance at all. Referred me to my local recycling rules of my town. A serious company would be able to receive the mirror back. I wanted to sent it back even on my own expense. I was testing their commitment with the satisfaction of the costumer . On their website they praise recycling, no throw away culture etc. The reality beyond those supposed concerns with the environment are shallow. So disappointed. Terrible costumer service. Can you imagine getting a text : This will be our final responde regarding your recycling concern . Fact is : companies don’t need their individual costumers . This company is that big, they do not care.

I bought a $100+ simplehuman soap dispenser, it died within 1 year 6 months. I was in the middle of a big move across the globe and so didn't have time to deal with it. When I finally had time to contact them, they said it's out of warranty and they couldn't do anything. All this took a full week of irritating texts back and forth. I asked to escalate to management and I'm still waiting for the call. Don't have high hopes at this point. They have shit customer service, their products fall apart within 2 years (while my cheap ten dollar temu ones are still working great!) and are WAY overpriced. This company should go out of business and BECAUSE of their lousy customer service, I'll tell everyone so.

SH's customer service is abysmal
SH's customer service is abysmal. I paid $200 for a voice/motion activated trash can & it was still under warranty and quit working. I had to jump through so many hoops to get a replacement lid confirmed & it's been TEN WEEKS, and I still don't have it. You'd expect a high priced brand like this to have amazing customer service like Dyson -- Simple Human should take a page out of their book.
