We recently had our garden completely redesigned by Adam at Skippens Fencing & Landscaping, and I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

Adam installed a brand new fence, built steps using slabs and bricks, and transformed the entire layout of our garden. From start to finish, he was reliable, transparent, and clearly committed to delivering a high-quality result. He worked incredibly hard throughout the project and always kept us informed on progress.

What really stood out was his professionalism and willingness to listen—he did exactly what we asked for while also offering helpful suggestions to improve the overall finish. The end result has exceeded our expectations, and the garden looks fantastic.

If you’re looking for someone dependable who takes real pride in their work, Adam is a great choice. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.

I hired Adam (Skippens Fencing and Landscaping) in September 2025 to landscape my front garden. This was one of the worst contractor experiences I’ve ever had.
THE WORK WAS ABANDONED AND LEFT IN AN APPALLING STATE:
❌ Sleepers installed unevenly and misaligned
❌ Sleeper tops completely unlevel
❌ Soil left unlevelled despite this being agreed
❌ Turfing NEVER laid - not even started
❌ Significantly fewer plants supplied than paid for
❌ Large pile of dirt and slabs dumped on my driveway and abandoned
When I contacted Adam to rectify these serious issues, he point-blank REFUSED to return to complete or correct the work. He told me to “finish the work elsewhere.”
THE CONSEQUENCES:
• I’ve had to hire another contractor to fix his botched work
• Additional unexpected costs
• Weeks of delays and stress
• Garden left in an unusable, unsightly mess
This is not just poor workmanship - this is a contractor who took payment, abandoned the job incomplete, was out of his depth (way unqualified) and refused to honour his commitments.
STRONG WARNING: Do not make the same mistake I did. There are plenty of reputable, professional landscapers who will complete the work properly and stand behind their commitments. Adam/Skippens Fencing and Landscaping is NOT one of them.
Save yourself the money, time, stress and disappointment - look elsewhere.
I am sharing this review to warn others and prevent them from experiencing what I went through.

Adam restored my old garden walls that were falling down. Got rid of all the unwanted greenery and replaced it with decorative stone. It looks really great and will help me keep on top of the garden. So pleased with Adam's work we have booked him in to do a much larger landscape job later on in the year. Highly recommended.

Adam assessed the damaged fencing and came back with a great proposal to address the problem at a fair price.
It now looks great again!

Adam completed work on our garden, clearing various overgrown shrubbery and fully removed a green house and shed. He did an absolute fantastic job and would not hesitate to recommend him. Adam fitted us a secure wooden gate. The price was really good, he was punctual, very tidy and courteous. It was a pleasure to have him working at our house and we would definitely recommend him.
