I reported a serious incident at Smashburger Bath on 22 August 2026 after experiencing unexpectedly hard crunches while eating a burger and immediately discovering that part of one of my teeth had fractured.

I reported the matter to staff at the restaurant immediately and required an emergency dental assessment later that same evening. I have since obtained detailed dental records, an X-ray, clinical photographs and written findings from the treating dentist.

My review is not intended to determine legal liability, which is being dealt with separately. My concern is the way Smashburger has handled the matter since it was reported.

For nearly two weeks I repeatedly had to chase for basic information. I was told the matter had been passed to insurance, but I was initially given no insurer name, no claim reference, no claims-handler details and no clear point of contact.

Only after further chasing was I eventually told that the matter had been reported to Zurich and given a Zurich reference. Even then, I was told Smashburger was still waiting for an allocated file handler.

Staff have told me they have chased the matter, which I appreciate, but I am extremely disappointed that there has been so little substantive communication from Smashburger itself following an incident of this seriousness.

Regardless of the eventual outcome of the insurance investigation, I believe a customer reporting a significant injury should receive clear, timely and compassionate communication rather than having to repeatedly chase for basic information.

Unfortunately, the handling of this matter has fallen well below what I would expect.

My wife and I popped in for the lunchtime special of burger, fries and drink for £9.99 only to find they do not offer a vegetarian burger in the deal only meat. It’s for meat eaters only. Not very inclusive is it. Crazy that meats cost more than veggie options yet they don’t include it. There are vegetarian options but you have to pay full price not included in the special of the day. If i could choose 0 rating I would.

The service was quick. I was a bit put off when they called from a 020 number to tell me they had to substitute an item, im in Buckley NW. The food arrived on time and hot, everything seems fine. The taste however, was horrible, I know it’s all fried food, and I know it’s my choice to eat it. Everything tasted the same, there was an aftertaste of the oil or fat they use on everything, the mozzarella sticks and onion rings, where probably bought from Iceland. Lack lustre, very disappointing.

Llamo al manager y me dice que ha habido un error y que vaya yo a por la comida que no me lo pueden enviar y que pida un reembolso. En este momento estoy sin dinero y sin comida. No lo recomiendo

EDICIÓN:

Ayer tuve un problema con una entrega incorrecta de Uber Eats. Hoy he recibido mi reembolso y una invitación a su restaurante en Cambridge. Disfrutamos de sus hamburguesas y puedo decir que son deliciosas. Volvere pronto. Casi olvido el mal momento de ayer. Felicitaciones por su política de atención al cliente.

Left a review 2 days ago to say how shocking this restaurant is, expensive,nasty,greasy and deplorable service,came back to see if any reply had been left and low and behold my review has been deleted. Avoid at all costs if you want to stay off the toilet. Never again.

Trash food. Trash place, trash morals. Suing so many companies in U.K. for nothing. Hope they go bankrupt

Here for lunch now, and it’s always worth the 40 minute drive. We’ve been here a few times and always come when we do an ikea trip. We specifically don’t shop online so we can do a trip to here too. The food every time has been fresh & incredible. The portion sizes are brilliant with plenty of choice on the menu. We do a very mixed order and always just share everything.

The staff are incredible! Really lovely people on service and can’t do more for you. We were served by a lady today and she was brilliant! Super friendly and couldn’t do more for us. Some establishments you can feel like a nuisance when you ask for different things but she was really lovely! Brought us over a mix of sauces too to try out.

It’s very clean and tidy and a great atmosphere.

Id pay everytime for the food and service we recieve worth every penny.

Just went in here to order food , bloke behind counter asked what we wanted n we said we wanted meal deals he then told us the only drink we could have was a Coke Zero to which my husband replied but we don’t like Coke Zero you mean to say the only drink you’re allowed to have if it’s a meal deal is Coke Zero the guy then said oh if you want a different drink it’s another £2 we didn’t mis hear what he said either as my husband repeated it and guy agreed , absolutely shocking . We just walked out . How can they even justify this not everyone likes Coke Zero so to only be allowed this drink in meal deal other than pay extra is appalling this is the wednesbust store
