Purchased basic night guard for braxism - still waiting 7 weeks after sending back moulds. Awful AI app experience - keeps telling me my order has been expedited. Wish I had paid a bit more & for a dentist to do in about a week. No way is this company actually operating in NZ.

After numerous attempts to get the right impression done via zoom I have never heard back from them. I wrote numerous emails to no avail. I spent over 300$ for a night guard that never came. How is such a thing legally possible in new Zealand? People just take your money and don't give you the service you paid for???? Why is this just acceptable?? They should not get away with this. I am currently fighting breast cancer and this is just the most negative dehumanizing thing that could happen right now. Totally unprofessional, I strongly recommend to stay away from them!!!!

After waiting an eternity for my aligners after doing my own impressions with a person over zoom I started my treatment. I wore night aligners. At stage 13 they were ill fitting and a couple of my teeth had moved to either on a slant at the top or bigger than the tooth on the opposite side. There is nobody professional to talk to about any issues. When I said they were ill fitting they tried to charge me another $500 to get new ones made which I refused and demanded a partial refund which they refused and kept dropping the price to get new ones made. Finally they agreed to do it at no cost. GREAT! I thought. I did new impressions and was sent new aligners. But now I have another 17 sets to do my treatment! I only had 2 left on my original set so why do I now have to do 17 sets which was more than the original set? It's been a year and a half from when I started the process! It was meant to only take 6 months. My teeth are also now more crooked than after finishing my last set, like they have gone backwards. This makes no sense. I paid good money for a professional teeth straightening and I am not happy with the service or results I've got. I still have 4 months to go! I would recommend not using this company.

I’m really happy with the final product - the night guard fits perfectly and I don’t feel it that much so it’s not uncomfortable which was a big concern I had. The only thing is the mould process didn’t work for me (despite the lady going over it with me over zoom). I then ended up having to pay to get my dentist to do a 3D scan of my teeth and send that in so they could make it. The guard is custom fit so that’s a win - but it made it such a long, drawn out process and probably all up cost the same as going to the dentist to get the guard. If the mould process works for you then it’s worth while as it’s cheaper then others and the end result is good - but if it doesn’t work for you it will cost you more for it to work.

I did 11months of the nighttime braces and are now using the retainers.
I'm very happy with the results. And they're a lot cheaper than other brands that do the same thing.

The price and product are good quality. I am really happy with my aligners. They fit perfectly and they are much better at maintenance than my old myobrace. Not to mention more comfortable. For that alone I would give a 4.5. However, it was a REALLY long process from placing my order to the aligners arriving. Most clear aligner companies have a two week turnaround.
Everything else though is good.

Smile Path worked amazing for me. I had relatively straight teeth but my K9’s and bottom teeth were getting very crooked.

The process was so easy. I just ordered my aligners and they came in one box and I would swap them out myself.

I liked not having to go into a dentist in person, the process saved so much time and the result was amazing.

My sister got aligners from a dentist and they cost her $6000+ but smile path was so cheap!

I was hopeful that this company could save me thousands on braces. But when I started asking questions using the site's chat feature, it became clear very quickly that "Ele" was AI.

Not a problem; even canned responses can be helpful. I figured it would escalate me to a real person at some point... like after I'd sent photos of my son's teeth from several angles, which "Ele" pretended to have sent on to a panel of dentists for review.

I was pretty worried that my son's teeth were too crooked for DIY aligners; the Smilepath website said they can treat "mild to moderate" crowding, and none of the pictures in the before-and-afters featured teeth as crooked as my son's. I wanted to get confirmation from the dentists that he'd be a good candidate before I went ahead.

So it was suspicious that "Ele" wouldn't give me a straight answer on whether or not my son's teeth were suitable for the procedure. Instead I got a bunch of almost-but-not-quite-relevant responses asking me to go get an expensive interoral scan ("Ele" was not able to tell me where I could get this done). The responses were canned and punctuated by generic sales messages, directing me to the gallery of before-and-afters or pointing out discounts.

When I tried to get "Ele" to escalate me to a real person and let me speak to one of the alleged dentists on call, "Ele" refused to admit to being AI and kept insisting 'she' was a real person. Even after I called out the 'Powered by tawk.to' link underneath the chat box, which leads to a site *literally dedicated to providing AI chat CSRs for businesses*, 'Ele' insisted that 'she' was a human. The responses continued to be canned-sounding and evasive.

At one point, after I had once again pointed out that 'Ele' was clearly non-human, 'she' instantly responded by typing 'Estra', and then immediately 'Actually it's 'extra', and if I were AI I wouldn't make mistakes'. Yes... because a real human agent would naturally type the word 'Extra', apropos nothing. It's how humans are.

I pointed this out, and dear old 'Ele' responded with another canned message about their thousands of satisfied customers. It was at this moment I began to truly understand the hatred of humanity towards the Cylons.

I had already looked up the Trustpilot reviews for Smilepath Australia, which were OK; but on looking at the reviews for Smilepath NZ it seems to be pretty dire. Between that and the strange paucity of actual before-and-after reviews on YouTube (there are lots of promotional shorts, and several people doing *either* a before *or* an after video, but with no proof of how much, or indeed how, their teeth changed)... I'm thinking this is scammy. A shame.

If any actual human brain at the company is listening: know that people don't like being lied to by chatbots. If you're going to automate, have the honesty to admit it.

My experience with smile path nz has been the worst customer service experience of my life! It has been 9 months since my original order of two mouth guards. I have recieved one ill-fitting mouth guard that caused a lot of pain and was not safe to use. After making several complaints and requesting a refund 4 times, I have still gotten nowhere and they have now stopped responding to my emails. Do not use this product!

The online sessions were terrible conducted with people who couldn't speak well English. The instructions in the box aren't clear enough and poorly presented. The only thing I can say about this company it is a scam.
I made 2 payments since I signed up the contract and I couldn’t get the impressions done, due to bad explanation in the process. I asked for a refund and the denied as “the refund window” was closed. So basically they stole my money as no product was delivered.

I think this company is a scam. I had issues with shipping and no one has got back to me except to say that they will be back to me soon. It has been 4 weeks now and still nothing. I am in the process of asking my credit card company for a charge back.

I had paid for revision aligners back in September and returned the moulds in October and it is now January. Every time I query them they tell me to be patient and that the aligners are with the lab but can give me an ETA. While my first treatment of 20 aligners went well enough, I am worried I will never receive the revision aligners.

My experience with Smilepath NZ has been frustrating and extremely difficult and its still on going. Their customer support has been unprofessional, with poor communication and misinformation. I have spoken to Alex the Customer Service Manager, he has shown poor leadership and is unable to solve problems or issues.
And like a previous reviewer I to was asked to take my review down as it was not showing Smilepath in a favorable manner.
My advise is do not engage with Smilepath NZ you can not speak to a person of seniority if you have a problem..you are given confused information in fact

Company has failed to deliver me my aligners, and is asking for more money for shipping above what was agreed.
It has been 6/7 months since I paid for this service and I haven't seen anything for it yet!
The 5 star reviews are obviously sponsored, please don't believe them, steer clear and keep your money!

My experience with SmilePath has been frustrating. Their customer support has been unprofessional, with poor communication and missed deadlines. Despite making a full payment, no services were delivered, and they couldn't even provide a receipt. When I asked for a refund, my request was ignored. It was only after I contacted my credit card company that SmilePath responded, saying they would dispute it. Honestly, it's just disappointing. If you value your time and money, I’d suggest avoiding this company.

I’ve had a great experience so far with Smile Path! The team are very easy to communicate with, and the moulds were very easy to do at home. So far my experience has been smooth and easy!

I was expecting to upload a photo here so my son can receive a free set of retainers. So far the process of paying money and receiving the kit for making teeth impressions has been straight forward. The AI on the website is helpful and emails have been answered by an equally convivial AI, and possibly a person once or twice. The AI on the website said the retainers will not be sent out until the end of the aligner process as I have not completed a review on Facebook (I did send through a photo there though). I didn't think a review of a treatment program which has yet to begin would give a fair representation of the outcome of the process. I'm happy to return at a later date to expand on this review. And again a couple of years from now to let you all know if the results can be maintained long term without further purchases.
