I’ve been a loyal Snap-on customer for…

I’ve been a loyal Snap-on customer for many years, investing thousands of dollars into tools because I believed in the quality and the service that was supposed to come with the brand. Unfortunately, my recent experience with customer service and management has seriously shaken that trust.

I reached out for client assistance regarding an issue that should have been straightforward to resolve, but instead of receiving the support I expected, I was met with indifference and a lack of accountability. All the broken tools were sent back, and they requested proof of purchase, WTF I've never heard this request for a professional tool user, The manager I dealt with seemed more interested in dismissing my concerns than actually helping to find a solution. As a long-time customer, that was incredibly disappointing.

What makes this worse is that Snap-on has always marketed itself as a company that stands behind its products and values its professional customers. That hasn’t been my experience lately. There was no effort to go above and beyond, no attempt to retain my business, and no recognition of the loyalty I’ve shown over the years.

At this point, I’m seriously reconsidering where I spend my money. Quality tools are important, but so is customer service—and right now, that’s where Snap-on is falling short.

I hope the company takes feedback like this seriously and works on improving how management handles long-standing customers, because this experience did not reflect the brand I once trusted.

Teure Hardware, aber kein verlässlicher Support

Der Support von Snap-on bzw. John Bean ist aus meiner Sicht enttäuschend. Rückmeldungen kommen, wenn überhaupt, nur sehr sporadisch, und nach mehrfachem Nachfragen erhält man meist nur vertröstende Platzhalter-Antworten. Eine vernünftige Dokumentation oder technische Hilfestellung zur Hardware haben wir nie erhalten. Statt echter Unterstützung kam bisher nur die knappe Aussage, dass sich ein Techniker das anschauen müsse, passiert ist dann auch nach Wochen nichts. Mein Eindruck zu unserer persönlichen Erfahrung, sobald die teure Hardware verkauft ist, wird man mit späteren Problemen ziemlich allein gelassen. Es geht nicht einmal darum, dass Support Geld kostet, war einkalkuliert. Aber man sollte zumindest eine verbindliche und brauchbare Rückmeldung erwarten können. So ist das einfach kein guter Service.
Es wirkt leider, als stehe man nach dem Kauf irgendwann völlig im Regen da. Aus unserer Sicht kein verlässlicher Partner, keine Empfehlung und nachdem dieses Gerät wieder läuft, wird es auch das letzte von diesem Anbieter gewesen sein.

Snap-On brass hammer

A brass hammer, 2nd time used in a few years , the handle shattered! Was told at the time of purchase that it was covered with a "Lifetime Warranty". Well that warranty evaporated pretty quick. I use a lot of their tools, rather I used to use their tools! I would advise you if you buy a tool from them, get the warranty in writing signed by their representative or don't touch them.Its not the first time I have had trouble with them! I bought a 3/4 drive impact gun off them that packed up after 8 months. So I slipped it apart and the frame that held the hammer weights had shattered! The rest of it was like new. Put it for repair as I was far too busy to mess around with it. It came back along with a bill for hundreds that they wouldn't cover under warranty. They claimes it was worn out and basically replaced everything except the housing. So be warned, their business practices do not align with the words, get it in writing! If its a power tool, slip it apart and photogreaph the internals in readiness for the sting in the tail.

Snap-On Tools excellent driver

A Snap-On Tools van was outside when I returned so I asked the chap how long he would be there as I wanted to park my car in front of my house. What a kind and understanding driver! He offered to move the van, no problem, as he understood parking difficulties. Very few polite, understanding people today, I can't say all SOT are like this but this chap deserves credit. Absolute disgrace of a company

Absolute disgrace of a company.
Lost all liking for this company as I have been left in the crap. I have over 20 broken items some electrical. The dealer never turns up so naw the warranty on the electrical is out. I registered the a dealer John form Sheffield over a year ago but i could of registeredwith another dealer from sheffield called tommy but that dealer would let me register on the fact i wouldn't pay cash on this van think is unacceptable. As normal registered with him an gave my broken tools to an nether seen him or herd from him. One month i needed a new bank card an totally forgot to change it on my account, then cos the payment didn't go out the dealer was straight there wanted payment, I was happy to pay but the pure fact the dealer pulled off a MOT witch he shouldn't of done. Paid the bill, an asked if I have any problems so I told him my concerns calmly an the reaction I got was im not dealing with naw im giving you to finance they can deal with you im not taking this abuse. They was no abuse as I was working an doing an MOT. Ive had several phone call with snap-on an been told we could sort something out in good grase but nether hear anything back. Then I hate to spend my time while work to contact them just for them to listen bk to the call an say now one say that on the phone call recording. An then get told theys nothing we can do. Ive Been paying snap-on for over 12 year naw 100/200 a months for a service im not even getting. Im out naw nether buying a snap on tool ever again or even step foot on a snap-on van. Lost a very good customer. Im not the one as I know other in the same boat. Snap one gone proper down hill in my eyes an just to be left like that propa disgrace for a big company

Greedy, corporate monopoly, with no compassion for human beings, and loyalty to them!!

Never thought I would leave a review like this, for a company that I worshipped. Short and sweet. From the time I was a young impressionable kid, that held a Snap-on ratchet, I knew I loved their tools. Dreaming someday I could own some. Well I busted my butt, and from working at many shops, to owning what many will say, was the best diesel repair shop around my area. I lived, ate, and breathed Snap-on tools! Spent well over 250k throughout my career. Wore nothing but their clothes, advertising their company. Very few issues with the tools. But let me tell you what defines a company. After spending ludicrous money at credit card level interest rates, at the end, they proved you are not valued, it's just about the money. I started having health issues and was forced to close my shop. I sold many things, trying to pay down my $12,500 balance. Left with no other options, I voluntarily contacted them. I asked if I could give back my pristine condition, 120" MR.BIG green toolbox. $28k retail value in catalog. They agreed, took the box, I hand waxed, and had ready to go. Flat bed guy shows up, with no clue how to safely move a box that big. I personally strapped, gave a blanket to cover, and knew it would get there safe. Then.....their true colors came out. They would only give me $10k credit for box. Leaving me with a $2,500 balance I had no way to pay. Now in collections, and on my Credit Karma. Knowing that a box in nearly new looking condition, would be sold for at least $12,500 to 15k. But Snap-on only cares about bleeding you dry. Not 27 loyal years of never missing payments. At one point I was paying $1,330 a month, on time. Never had a nice house, but Snap-on's money was always made a priority. Therefore, to end this disgusted review, I want all young techs to know, you have way more affordable, quality options now, that us OG techs never had. Spend your money wisely!!! You don't kill your body, to make monopolies rich!! That's NOT smart money. Wish I had those options in my career. Thanks to Snap-on for being a greedy, uncompassionate company. I will never wear even a piece of clothing with their name on it. And yes, I have receipts, pictures, and proof of my experience. Thanks for reading my real world, long term review. And God Bless!!

Redmond Ore. Snapon guy

The Snap-on guy that services Redmond OR is an absolutely terrible person. He blocks drive throughs so Truck Drivers like me can't get through. Parks and walks away. He even shot a dog in Madras cause he was scared of it! Man up, It was a dog ya wuss.

I've been a diesel mechanic going on 20+ years. I still have the same craftsman set i started with all those years ago. In that time nearly every battery tool i overpaid snap on for failed in under a year. The impact guns dont last any longer than IR. The entire snap on gimmick is trapping young techs light on cash im 200% mark up tools with 30% APR. You never pay the scam off, and theyre never around to cover that "lifetime warranty" anyways. Bauer and Icon are every bit as good for a fraction of the price.

Snap On are Swindlers

I used to work as a Mechanic in 2021, the business closed and I decided that I would work for myself. Most of my tools were Snap On, including my Epiq tool box that I paid an extremely lots of money for, a new Apollo D9 scanner that never worked, tried to use it and always got the wrong readings.
It cost me so much money in the first 6 months of having it, wrong diagnosis and time wasted on trying to fix the issues. I was such a Snap On person asking my sell person to help me with the device. It was used 15 times and mostly on my own vehicle, I paid $5000 for something that's not working, his reply was he'll buy it back for $2000. Whoa, I just bought it new without it working properly and wants to pay me less than half for a product he just sold me. Called corporate and they said that there's nothing they can do since it is a used device now, it's been sitting on my shelf for over a year now, I was stupid enough to pay for last year update which I was hoping to see if it may work. Then I decided that needed to up grade my tool box, to find out that it is not an Epiq series but a Master series. Straight lied to my face, after I trusted him. I will never buy another product of theirs again, they don't care after your money is in theirs pockets. They even take a long time to repair or replace an item you give them. NO MORE, I AM DONE!

HORRIBLE Customer Service

HORRIBLE Customer Service! Several different answers in trying to get a ratchet repaired/replaced. Finally did what they probably wanted in the first place and threw up my hands, told them to go pound rocks. Buy something else that has a warranty that is actually HONORED.

Had a serious issue with an apollo d9. Once things had been established, a plan was formulated. And got a new unit sent out to me. The compliance team worked very hard to get a solution.
Very pleased with the professional approach I was given to get to the bottom of the problem. Top marks.

Snap only as good as the driver, most are scum!

The business model Snap On uses is the problem. The tool truck owners have to pay for your broken tools and then get reimbursed at a much later date. The drivers do not want to replace the tools as it affects their profits so they avoid people with warranty issues.

My driver quit the company he was working for that owned several routes. They decided to sell the route back to snap on and now I can’t get new tools or warranty tools until they sell the route to a new sucker and then maybe we may have service again. It’s been 6 months…..

Snap on warranties are no better than craftsman. You end up having to mail your broken tools back to snap on for repairs at your own cost.

Harbor freight Icon tools are as good as snap on and there are no warranty issues. You have to drive to HF but at least they honor the warranties.

The driver of SN12PON

The driver of SN12PON seriously needs to learn about driving safely. One car went to pass on a dual carriage way and he sped up so they had to break the speed limit to pass and then he drives right up their back end. So I go to pass so I dont end up involved in a crash...he would NOT let me in and the proceeded to brake check me forcing me to pass him unsafely. Absolute psychopath!

Warranty WORTHLESS

Several years ago, I bought a SnapOn brake stool. I paid way more than the average price for a brake stool, because of the "Lifetime Warranty".
Recently one of the wheel caster mounting grip socket retainers broke. I talked to the SnapOn representatives that comes to my workplace about getting a new grip socket part for my stool.
After 2 months of stringing me along, they told me that my brake stool had been discontinued and that there was no warranty. I told them that I didn't want a new stool. I just wanted the grip socket bushing to repair my stool. I showed them a new stool that my co-worker had bought from them, used the same grip socket bushing. they told me that they would not provide the item on a warranty basis, but offered to sell me 4 wheel casters with grip socket bushings. "Lifetime Warranty" is WORTHLESS!

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY!!!! I work for a theme park in Orlando (lol you probably know which one it is)! There company did a park buyout… IVE NEVER BEEN SO DISRESPECTED IN MY WHOLE LIFE! There company employees trash scum of the Earth! Belligerently drunk, calling workers the b word (FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON LITERALLY WE ARE JUST WORKING), sexually harassed us too. This was a family event mind you. In front of there children and wives they acted like this. If you buy anything from them you are supporting the worst people on the planet earth. Men who act like that deserve jail. I’ll never buy anything from you! I’ll make sure no one else u knows doesn’t either 😘
