First of all The planning & Instalationof my Solar System

First of all, the person who came to my house, was extremely helpful in explaining what solar system would suit the size of my property.
The next thing was how helpful the stafe in the office were in explaining to me how to fill in all the necessary documents to make my system legal.
The installation team were very profesional, there attitude was very helpful in answering all the question that I asked.
Because I was not sure paying for a Batteria back up, I again got in touch with the office staff, the were again very helpful in explaining to me the advantages of having
A Batteria back up, also a back up system that covered an Outage situation from the grid.

In all I am so glad that I went with solar in Spain,
A Neighbour near by went with a lesser company, they
have some major problems.

Many, Many thanks to Solar in Spain.

Regards

Dialogue with Fidelma revisited Have retained email trail. The electrical company which corrected our dangerously wired junction box stated they had rectified many incorrect installations by SolarinSp

Exactly the same experience as one of your reviewers. Paid most of cost, retaining around 600 euros. Wish I'd retained more!
The day after installation we went to France.
Puzzled why we couldn't connect with our security system. Returned home - automatic gate wouldn't work, nor garage door. Fortunately we had keys to enter. Fuse box had tripped.
Lamp in oven blown and fused into surround. 3 fridges + freezer no power for 10 days. All food - several hundred euros worth, had to be dumped - many trips to basura. Lamps (decorative) in bath and shower room blown. Later after many more fuse trips - often several times per day, the control panel on our washing machine, top of range Bosch, blew, rendering it useless.
SolarinSpain kept returning. It was always our old wiring at fault or our defective appliances were the problem. Funny NOT. We had NEVER had, during over 20 years of residing in our property, any problems of the kind we experienced on a daily basis.
Jorge came with a headset directly communicating with HQ.
Anxious to find a problem with our appliances, wires were hauled through trunking but stopped by my husband who is a qualified electrical engineer but in the UK. He installed electrical related products on the North Sea oil rigs, Dubai dry docks etc.
Throughout Fidelma hounded us for the final amount - withheld accusing us of using the faults which were attributable to OUR wiring, OUR old appliances as a reason for evading payment. I WISH I HAD WITHHELD MORE. What I retained in no way covered a replacement washing machine, nor the wasted food etc etc.
Meanwhile Jorge continued to haunt us. Our dog escaped as he kept exiting, leaving the gate open. My neighbour's electricity supply disconnected in error.
Then Jorge called us triumphantly into our summer kitchen. He'd found a loose wire in our extractor fan. Now I believe he pulled that wire free - why when in use, had the extractor fan not malfunctioned?
Another time Jorge called to my husband, and pointed to an external lamp outside our front door. The external casing to the wire to the lamp had an incision in it. That evening, as always, I let my dog, now recovered, out for his evening pee.
The lamp by the front door went bang - lt blew. Why on earth, if that incision had been there for let's say one year, why did it not go bang before? The conclusion is obvious to even the weakest intellect.
Still Fidelma continued to insult us.
I did some research specifically on diameters of wires entering the main fuse box. These MUST be no greater than 6mm or danger of fire. The main wire Fidelma and her bunch of incompetents had installed was 10mm. Too much electricity flowing into our fuse box, causing the repeated tripping. To counter this F & Co had put in 2 high capacity fuses which are not compatible with electricity circuits in domestic properties. I warned Fidelma about the fire risks - would she listen - it was like addressing a dead dodo suffering from prolonged seizures.
I tried and tried to get an electrician to come to our villa to sort the problem. Who wants to sort out someone elses mess?
Our electricity supplier is Repsol. I went to their office in Javea. They put me in touch with a big electrical installation company who worked on hotels and large newbuilds. Repsol persuaded them to attend 🙏
2 attended. They started checking the installation - the connection to the inverter - muy bien. The battery - muy bien. We eventually arrived at the fuse box. One horrified glance and a "Madre mia - peligroso" was uttered. The wiring WRONG. The main wire WRONG. Two main fuses WRONG - INCORRECT CAPACITY NOT COMPATIBLE WITH SPANISH GRID supplying domestic properties.
Hence my fire risk concerns.
This company rewired and installed correct voltage fuses.
GUESS WHAT - NO PROBLEMS SINCE - NADA, NIX, NON.
Spitefully Solarin Spain refused to apply for our rebate, and withheld the password linking us to the Huawei App. Then sent us a burofax demanding final payment and threatening litigation. An abogado - excellent, informed us we need not reply. We instructed him to do so. The electrical company who corrected the dangerous wiring and fuses, wrote on their invoice, - correcting malinstalacion. This was sent to SolarinSpain along with photographic evidence.
Their response - a deafening silence.
My withheld amount just about covered my costs but not my blown up washing machine.
I wrote at one stage to Fidelma, she should go on a lengthy course at a charm school. TEN years would not be long enough. This was June 2023

I strongly recommend Solar in Spain

I strongly recommend Solar in Spain, both for the solar system they installed and for air conditioning/heating units we bought from them for use in the Beniarjó campo home we purchased in 2024.

We hit some major bumps along the road with installing and using the new solar system (from a wasp infestation to a total system failure one night), but Fidelma and Louise were excellent communicators and all of our problems were resolved as quickly as possible by their fantastic tech team members. For instance, Jorge was a real standout, sitting outside in the heat for hours on an overturned water bucket until he figured out why our batteries weren't communicating with each other. In the meantime, Solar in Spain loaned us an extra battery while ours was being serviced.

The heating system doesn't meet all of our needs because it uses a bit more energy than we expected and our stone home has very leaky doors and windows. Thus, none of the generated heat remains once we to turn the unit off and in the winter, we can't generate and store enough solar energy to power it consistently.

On the other hand, so far this summer, the air conditioning has been an absolute joy. If we're judicious, we can run our bedroom unit all night in dry mode making it possible to sleep through the intense heat and humidity.

Good quality, good workmen, good customer relations

The company made the installation very simple. The men who installed the panels, etc. were very pleasant and helpful, a pleasure to have around. I have had my panels for two years and if I vr have a query, they are most helpful. This company goes the extra mile.

Problem installation ending up in court

I contracted with Solarinspain to install a solar system in early 2022, for which the installation included some 20 panels and a battery system, at a cost of some 20,000 Euros.
Prior to installation, I found Fidelma and Vincent most helpful and speedy with responses, although this sadly changed after the 80% deposit was paid in advance of the installation.

During and after installation the solar fuse they installed kept tripping.
Solarinspain were aware from the App, as I was, that it showed a major fault on many occasions.
Vincent said the system was working well and he wouldn’t accept that there was any fault, nor would he or anyone attend to investigate the problem, regardless that I had a 2 year installation guarantee.
It seemed to me that Solarinspain were no longer interested almost immediately after installation.

I advised Vincent that I wasn’t happy because either I or my villa management had to continually attend the villa to switch off the system and reconnect it because the solar fuse kept tripping, which were Vincent’s instructions to do.
I therefore informed Vincent that I needed to withhold the 20% balance due until we found out what the problem was with the system. Vincent just demanded the 20% balance due and dismissed the problem altogether by saying I simply did not want to pay the balance, which wasn’t the case at all.

In order to overcome the impasse, I suggested to Vincent that I get an independent electrician to check the system, whereby Vincent demanded to see their solar certificate and qualify them beforehand, making it difficult for me to get another electrician, just in case of accusations by them of interference on the system.
Continued diplomatic attempts to get Solarinspain to accept that there was indeed a problem with their installation and attend was then met with silence.
It became clear that they were not bothered about whether the system worked correctly because they could just threaten clients with legal action.

I then gave Solarinspain details of a local mediator which the Town Hall kindly gave me to handle the problem and resent the suggestion of an independent electrician several times, but this got no response either, nor did repeated suggestions that I pay the balance due to a solicitor to be held on an escrow account until we find out what the problem was with the installation.
No matter how politely and diplomatically one approached Vincent & Fidelma, in order to overcome the problem, it was met with either irritation or silence.
The installation warranty was, in effect, worthless.

I therefore contacted my Spanish solicitor for advice, who in turn advised me of a local electrician and solar installer he knew well and could be trusted, in order to get the solar installation checked.
The electrician duly attended and found the DC cable was not installed properly and loose, thus causing the solar fuse to have completely burnt out. This in itself, I understood, could have caused a fire to the house and was the reason why the system kept tripping.
In the meantime, Solarinspain sued for the 20% of the balance due.
My solicitor also appointed an independent expert to check the complete installation. The expert duly attended in my absence and found several other irregularities, which were submitted as part of the report for the court hearing.
The expert found the framework installed was unable to withstand high winds and needed greater support and that there was insufficient earthing of the panels, apart from other issues.

As the Defendant, I was fortunately able to have the certified solar electrician and solar expert attend court as witnesses, as well as the manager of the property.
The case against me collapsed in court and I was awarded compensation by the court.

This was a wholly unnecessary case for Solarinspain to bring against me. It could easily have been resolved by Solarinspain simply attending and finding the cause of the fault, although then I wouldn’t have known about the other critical issues raised by the expert.

A very bad experience with Solarinspain.
