Ridiculous time delay
First of all the fitters, were absolutely amazing.
But I would never recommend going with this company- S O Windows doors and conservatories. We ordered a new front door in January and it was finally fitted in May. The fitters originally arrived in March but the door frame was the wrong colour and was hinged the wrong side. After reordering I was advised a date of the 13th May for the door to be installed, they rang a few days before and said actually the fitters will arrive the 14th May. Then I was called on the 14th and was told there was a problem with the fitters so it'll be installed on the 18th instead. After waiting in all morning on the 18th, I chased the company asking for an ETA and was told that they are now having problems with their suppliers and don't know what's happening.
Out of the blue on the 18th I was grateful to receive a call from the fitters who said they have my door on the van and are travelling all the way from Newcastle (I'm in the south west). They arrived on 19th and fitted the door. I really love the door but the length of time and excuses was ridiculous.

This company are an absolute disgrace
This company are an absolute disgrace, they tell you one thing then when you pay for the survey change the date so you aren't around and then attend when you are not around (or do they !!).
These are cowboys and the customer service from Chelsea is nothing short of disgusting and very unprofessional, her tonality is very demeaning and derogatory.
Buyers please be aware here when contemplating using these for anything.
Wow, should never be trading
Wow, what a shambles this company is...survey done in October for full house replacement doors and windows...deposit paid, April now....no contact since February, wtf! Asked for my deposit back, not possible...the biggest scam, shouldn't be allowed to continue trading....Martin Lewis money saving expert would slaughter this company!!! I did read reviews in September and reviews were average, but since Christmas, its all crap...and the couple of good reviews they have had are probably written by current staff members 😀 😄

Not happy with this company, we contacted them with what door we wanted and they got back to us straight away and asked us when they could fit it and we said yeah that’s perfect kept in contact and came to our house snd measured up the fittings and asked for a deposit which was £600 payed that . And then suddenly after we sent this deposit the calls and messages became distanced which is very strange because as soon as they knew what we wanted and how much the door was and we was gonna pay this deposit they kept us updated with the process. And now we have been left with no explanation except that we have been told 4 time now ! That “they can’t do the door because of unforeseen circumstances out of their control” which we understand that but then it was every time on the message they was sending us which is now a joke , then said they can’t do it this day now then would rearrange the appointment and cancel . They have told us they would be in contact within 2 days and haven’t heard anything since . Me and my family have tried to call this company 2 times a day and left messages and still nothing !! . My dad is 71 years old and is stressed out he doesn’t need this he was so happy with getting this door and now he is upset as you have just left if in the dark taking the deposit and not getting back to him. This is absolutely unacceptable behaviour for a “business” . If we don’t receive a call or message within the next 2 days , we will be taking this action against you If all this go well and you fit out door we will not take it further . Hope to hear from you soon

made a deal for 3 windows and 1 door mid December, survey took 2 months to do and even on the day of survey the guy didn't turn up, no message and no calls to advise this (he was sick apparently) I had to chase this at 3pm and been told the guy is sick and they can't do it, ignored multiple messages, eventually a week later I had the survey and still waiting for windows and door to be fitted, not been booked for this Friday (booked over 2 weeks ago) and they told me Friday won't happen and moving the dates again, called messaged even today and no reply from them
it's April now and almost 5 months since I made the deal, asked for cancellation policy and been told they don't have one. All I get is lie after lie from Whatsapp team (Chelsea and Emily),

Delays from the onset but my main concern is the damage to walls and tiles and unfinished seal on one window.The was a failure to supply the reciept and warrenty. The lack of response to letters and when they did finally reply the claimed that they couldnt do anything due to the length of time! I sent pictures via watzap ( their preferred method of commuication) i also have watzap msgs saying the warrenty would cover the damage. The warrenty is actually useless as it is for a door and i had 5 windows fitted.
I did consider taking them to court but could not deal with any further stress and upset from this ignorent unprofessional company . I have also found someone to repair the damage and complete the seal.
Not what I expected at all
Order came very late
Order came very later. Paid the agreed amount initially of 1/3 of my order and then another payment of 1/3 when measurements were taken, this was in early November. I was promised my bifold and windows will be fitted first week in
December. But I was given the run around with van broke down to orders will arrive before Christmas. Each time I call I was today fitting will be done the following week, which never happened. I eventually got the order and fitting done in February. Every person I initially spoke with I was told had left the company how very convenient. Very i professional company, I will not go near them again.

Had my windows fitted yesterday, the lady Hope who was my initial contact at the company was informative and no pressure at all, she guided me through the process and was very efficient. After the order was placed and deposit paid experienced a delay in fitting due to unforeseen circumstances.
Tony and Darren arrived as promised yesterday and the windows were fitted , they both were professional and polite throughout and respected my property.
Shoddy goods,shoddy customer service
I looked at So Windows and doors as I had been let down. Asked for a quote for a composite door and decided to order. I was told a deposit of 1/3 payable .Paid this and then paid 1/3 when survey completed asked for a colour variation and was told it would be £110 extra. Total £1350. Waited for weeks and eventually the door arrived. The chap fitted it...after breaking my plants by putting the door on it. The surface of the door has white marks on it....the fitter who told me was the owner of the company then gave me some paint to cover the marks??? I did question this at the time. Then I received the request for the balance. They asked for £850 when it was £730. I questioned this and received very aggressive response. In the end the woman i spoke to apologised and agreed it was £730. Two days later one of the end cap of the rain guard (thin black plastic) was on the floor broken which i think happened when it was fitted. I asked if somebody could come and fit another. I received a response that something must have broken it. We cant just come round for that.....mmmm £1350 paid.....0 customer service....i am 70 yrs of age and still working to pay for things like this to make my life more comfortable....feel very disappointed and totally ripped off.!
Response to below. I did question the white marks and was given touch up paint. The fitter put the door on top of my plants and said when i asked him to remove the door from them sorry Im not a garden person. And the response to the rain guard part that was broken was that your fitters cant just pop around the next day for that. Something must have hit it. Not, we will have to order the part and would be delighted to fit it. Overall I am happy with the door but having purchased a composite door in the past I am disappointed that I have not had the same experience. Shame...

Management do not pay what they owe
Company do not honour agreements made. Not reliable or trustworthy I'm afraid. Management the issue, not the sub contractor's fault. They try their best- then do not get paid and customer is left bewildered as to what is going on.

Don't go near this company
Don't go near this company. The reviews citing how bad it is are no joke. Literally fraudulant. The reason your doors aren't even near to getting fitted is that they probably haven't even ordered them yet. Goes through fitters like you wouldn't believe. Not a care in the world for people who save thier money and lose it to this money grabbing owner. Beyond terrible.

Please do not use still waiting for windows to be installed since survey carried out in September did have bi folding doors fitted but difficult to open and shut and was meant to come back and seal.Simon informed me he would be fitting all but went off sick for months now been sacked and replaced by Ryan who has been promising me for weeks he would sort the windows out in his words ‘sod it I will come and do them myself” no show as now also off sick.Actually not going to even bother raising my blood pressure with this worse then useless complete car crash of a company.

Rubbish company
Contacted safestyle for a quote. This person came out said he worked for them but was setting up on his own and offered a better deal. It took ages to get windows and doors and once fitted had problems with the door. Tried contacting them about it. Several times they promised to come out and look at it but never turned up. Lesson learnt. Avoid this company at all costs use a reputable company

Love our new door
S O Doors fitted a new door for us yesterday. So pleased with it. Whole process from speaking to Karen through to Darren putting it in for us took less than 4 weeks. Superb communication. We could't be happier, we saved for the door for a year. So glad we delt with this company.

Absolute Joke from start to finish.
Eventually delivery and fitting date came: got a call van broken down we can fit next week?? i asked them to hire a van i just got the run around. 1 week later Tuesday 3rd February 2026. They turned up at 2pm when was expecting at 9am. They were a crew from another company who had never worked for this company before. They had to go to 2 differnet places to collect my doors. Front door was ok as requested, other 2 doors half glazed ( glass was not available ?) I ordered 5th December and was told they was ready early January. ok so then i asked for front door to open opposite side GREAT and others to be as they was origionally. I recieved one for the back door opening inwards unstead of out! they had already removed my door before we was aware and we was furious, we was then told we had requested this but we had not signed anything to the sort and when the owner sent me over the order it had been manually changed from the copy i had received by email. Anyway we had no choice but to accept this and it was Bogged to fit but was hitting my oiler Pipes so i got a quotation from the com[any who had just fitted my boiler and they quoted me £100 to move pipe. Door company were not happy i wish i could put photos on here. Anyway third attempt of sorting my order Tony came and was to finish off doors cement base corners and finish the doors off with trims and fit cat flaps as i had requested and they were on our order form. He asked did i want them to the side or in middle ? and i said middle please. I was busy and i came back and he put the Cat flaps half of the way up the door in the middle. I have a cat not a tiger there is no way he will reach then. i believe this was done malliciously as we had been arguing still about the £100. My large Labradors can just reach them to put their heads through thats how high they have fitted them, total joke. He looked at me and said i have been fitting these for over 10 years this is where they go !!!! my cat cannot reach them to use and there is a big drop the other side. i am aware cats will climb but come on !! now they have told me i should pay the £100 for Pipe move and unless i pay them i cannot have my guarantee paperwork. Please do not use them it will be a huge mistake for you.

They are the worst company I have ever come across. They took 3 months to fix the issues and after 3 failed door fittings due to measuring errors they then promised a refund which they now refuse. Chips were in glass windows and again took over 8 weeks to rectify. The owner is rude, they ignore you and make you feel like you're the problem! After spending over £6k with this company they treated us like dirt. I will never ever use them again and feel people need to know this so they don't make the same mistake.
For your own sanity, stay away!!

Awful experience with SO Windows
I came across SO Windows online and contacted them for a quotation for windows and doors. In hindsight, this was a mistake. I had already seen a review online raising concerns about their professionalism. When I queried this, I was told it was a misunderstanding and that the review was being removed.
Initially, communication was good. They responded quickly and arranged a survey, which took place on 10th November 2025. I was informed that installation would take approximately four weeks.
However, I did not receive the window measurements until 16th December, over five weeks after the survey — around the time I would have expected installation to be happening. At that point, I was then informed that installation would be end of January or early February, almost three months after the survey. This was completely unacceptable.
From 17th December onwards, I repeatedly chased for a confirmed installation date. Each time I was told I would receive it “today”, yet no call or message ever followed.
During this period, I also asked whether one of the windows could be shortened by 20cm. I was told this was not possible because the windows had already been manufactured. However, despite this claim, they still could not provide an installation date. If the windows were already manufactured, why were they not being installed?
Overall, this has been an exhausting and frustrating experience. I have had to chase them constantly for basic information. Their lack of professionalism and inability to meet or manage timelines is alarming. How they track or meet internal KPIs is beyond me — assuming they even have any.
Another warning sign I should not have overlooked is that they do not have a landline, only a mobile number.
This has been a complete waste of time and energy. I hope this review helps others avoid the same experience.
