Similar to other reviews. I’m kicking myself that I didn’t check these reviews before making a purchase.
Bought a stone as a christmas gift, numerous emails and phone calls in an attempt to return the stone with zero response. Will now have to attempt to gain refund via credit card company. Terrible customer service.

Avoid this business
Eventually received an email back after trying every form of contact available.
Retuned stone tracked. No response or refund. Chased via email to be asked for tracking information, although all details were provided on returned item.
Chased and chased for a response to find out where refund was, no response.
Money eventually refunded weeks after returned item.
Avoid unless you like hassle .

Tried to return steak stone that was a Christmas present, but got no response at all from any form of different contact methods. With credit card company to try and claim back. Would avoid

Horrible Customer Service

Horrible Customer Service and Unauthorized Substitution

I had an extremely disappointing experience with SteakStones. After ordering the SS002 set, the company emailed me saying it was out of stock and asked if it was okay to replace it with a different product. I replied the same day and clearly stated that I wanted the original item I ordered and did not authorize any replacement.

They sent the replacement anyway.

From December 30, 2025 through January 7, 2026 I contacted them repeatedly asking how they planned to resolve the issue. Instead of offering a solution, they kept insisting their Terms & Conditions allowed them to substitute my order - even though I had already declined the substitution before it was shipped.

When I again asked how they intended to fix the situation, they told me I could return the item to an address in the United Kingdom, with no prepaid label or reasonable option offered. This placed the entire burden of international return shipping on me for an item I never agreed to receive.

Under U.S. law, merchandise sent without the recipient's consent is considered unsolicited, and the recipient is not obligated to return it or pay for it. I never received the product I paid for. I have already filed a dispute with my credit card company and a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

This is some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I strongly recommend avoiding this company.

1/8/2026 UPDATE: AN ADDITIONAL FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION COMPLAINT SUBMITTED 1/8/2026 as follows: I submitted a 1‑star review to SteakStones.com website on January 7, 2026 after responding to an email the company had previously sent requesting feedback on my purchase. The review successfully posted to their website, and I have a screenshot from early morning on January 8 showing it publicly visible at that time. However, later this morning it had been removed. After receiving an appalling response from SteakStones regarding my review, I saw that it was no longer publicly available. I also have a screenshot documenting its removal.

In further support of misleading practices, on Trustpilot—an independent third‑party review platform where consumers can publicly share verified experiences with businesses—I and others have posted unfavorable reviews. On that same platform, it appears the company posted a 5‑star review on their own behalf on December 15, 2025. The review states: “SteakStones does not Trustpilot -- SteakStones use Loox for their reviews as they are a much better company than TrustPilot, who insist that they start any company with 9 3.5 star reviews. Please view all the delighted and authentic customer reviews on our website.”

I have a screenshot of this review as well, and I have flagged it to Trustpilot for removal because it appears to be written by an employee or representative of the company, which violates Trustpilot’s policies.

SteakStones appears to be selectively deleting unfavorable reviews on their own website while simultaneously attempting to counteract negative feedback on third‑party platforms by posting self‑serving, misleading 5‑star reviews. These actions create a distorted and deceptive impression of customer satisfaction and prevent consumers from accessing honest, balanced information. Because the company actively solicited my review by email, responded negatively to it, removed it, and appears to be manipulating reviews on external platforms, this behavior suggests intentional review suppression and deceptive business practices.

I am reporting this because consumers deserve accurate and complete information when evaluating a product, and companies should not be allowed to manipulate public perception by removing legitimate negative reviews and posting misleading positive ones.

SteakStones does not TrustPilot

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!
I can’t stress enough not to deal with this company.
My steak stone was damaged and the customer service is appalling. Nick Metcalf would not accept it was damaged even though I sent 4 photos. He claimed nothing was wrong with it and stones are always different. Which I am well aware of!

He wouldn’t answer my phone calls.
He refused to accept any responsibility and therefore I was unable to send it back. He was rude, demeaning and so unprofessional it’s beyond belief.
I considered sending it back but due to cost and the fact I didn’t trust him to get my money back I didn’t .

I then asked where his shop is because I would drive over and exchange the item. ( I live an hour away from the address given)
His reply was solely “ No we do not”
Which begs the question is his company even at 15 Bell Street?
Do not be fooled by the very professional looking website!!

I would give a zero star if I could.

Awful Customer Service

I had an awful experience with this company and will not do business with them again; nor do I recommend anyone else to do business with them due to their customer service. My story...I ordered two Steakstones at the beginning of October, 2025; I received an email telling me they were on a 4 week backorder. No big deal I thought, they were for Christmas gifts. In late November when I had not received my purchase ($300), I reached out to the company; they told me they had a tracking number showing they were delivered however, they could not provide me with proof of delivery with an address they were delivered to, only said it was delivered to Tampa, FL. I conversed with Michelle and Nick Metcalf, who represented this company; at first they were professional. Nick even sent me an email thread of a conversation he had with the shipping company, 'ShipBob', who may have been a third party vendor? however they wrote, "the carrier didn't provide any picture/proof apart from this document confirming the exact location where it has been delivered"; the only location the shipping company gave was the city it was supposedly delivered to...no address nor street name. Nick Metcalf wrote to them back stating "Is it really a case that the courier says it’s delivered and that’s it. Seems like a system rife for things to go missing?" This seems to me an acknowledgment from Mr. Metcalf of the lack of care for this shipment.
This is where things go wrong with Steakstones customer service and Mr. Metcalf...when I ask him next steps to either refund my money or replace the items, his reply to me is "We don’t issue refunds or replacements for goods that have been delivered. I hope you find out who has them." WHAT? Myself the consumer is now having to be a detective on a hunt in a city to find a package that your company sent out!!!! WAIT, there is more. I replied back stating that he would then have to "deal with my credit card company".
WAIT, there is more...I then get another email from Mr. Metcalf which reads, "Sounds like you may have done this before?"
WHAT? Is that accusatory! I asked him "Mr. Metcalf, What is the comment supposed to mean?".
You can interrupt it as you want but for me, I took it as he was accusing me of lying and fraud!!!!
I will never do business with this company and want my story out so others can determine if they want to do business with a company that treats their customers like that!!!!
BTW - I found the BlackRock stones on Amazon for a comparable price with a 4.9 rating and they will be delivered by Amazon tomorrow; and, a picture will be taken of the delivery at my doorstep!!!

***BUYER BEWARE*** I bought 2 Steak Stones for €240. Paid €20 for Shipping. Then later received a Duty & Tax bill from FedEx for €86.89. Bringing my total IE bill to €346.89.

Do not touch this company!!!

Do not touch this company!!!! I put in £255 order in march… my husband opened his present on April 14th & it was broken, I called that day for a replacement & I’m still waiting mid may!!! I’ve spoken with the owner 3 times , he’s rude & dismissive . He asks you to “ send proof” as he doesn’t believe & then plays the I do not receive the email game . Con artist. I will be taking him to court unless he refunds me!!

200 euros FedEx fee!

Bought 600 euros worth of stuff from SteakStones. Didn't know it would be sent from their "EU store" in UK. Paid 27 euros for delivery. No problem. A week later another bill, for over 200 euros! FedEx claims this excessive amount of money for taking this British parcel to The Netherlands. SteakStones should know better. UK decided to leave EU a couple of years ago.

The best company I've ever shopped with

This is one of the best companies I've had the pleasure to buy items from. Their customer service goes above & beyond for you. I've bought several stones & they're now used on a weekly basis. I love my stones and the company.

Excellent customer service.

I bought a steak stone on 7th Dec from Amazon as was having a dinner party on Saturday 11th and it came next day but for £49.99 it was badly made and the stone had to be heated on a hob I want one to put in the oven, so I returned it and hunted google for somewhere to get a better quality one and found SteakStones.co.uk on 9th Dec and before I purchased it I emailed and asked if I ordered it would it be with me by Saturday, they originally said I had missed the 11am order by time so it would be Monday delivery, I was gutted as really needed this for my party and I emailed back with my dilemma and I have got to say Michelle Metcalf has somehow pulled out all the stops for me in ensuring I get this delivered to my home on Saturday, super customer service can't fault the effort that has been made to make a customer very happy. Thank you.
