Terrible for ecommerce!

Heading into Q4 is the same thing as heading into a Superbowl for an ecommerce-focused business. We had what we had thought was a great conversation with their rep. We were told that based on our revenue we would be eligible for a very large amount. We told them we were ok with much less. Speed was a concern of ours because were scaling up quickly. We were told that would be no problem.

What happened? We were dragged on for what felt like weeks. They knew our sense of urgency, and how critical it is to be able to partake in marketing campaigns and sell product.

We finally got an answer. Not a phone call, as I was kindly promised by another one of their reps. Some email in a random inbox that rejected us. The reasoning was erroneous. There was an option that stated we can call if information was misinterpreted, which we did and nobody is on their phone line. No call back. The rep ghosted us.
We can go on and on about things that went wrong. It's a long list and perhaps we'll edit our review later.

I have had two advances with Stenn. I got the first in March of 2024 and the second in July of 2024. Both successfully paid off with not one missed payment, ever. My initial account rep, Mitch, was a pleasure to work with to the very end.

I am giving them 2 stars because the capital is fairly cheap even with the fast repayment, however the service I received after being transferred from my initial account rep puts me in a position to never do business with them again. And I say this as someone who took my valuable time as a business owner to do a case study for this company.

The rep I was transferred to, Roxanne, repeatedly displayed poor communication and disregard for my small business. She solidified my decision to not pursue any additional advances with them.

I also had a negative experience with their collections specialist, Jonathan, who sent me an erroneous past due notice (I was never past due, STENN failed to account for the scheduled debits and instead decided to take them out of my account all at once as soon as they realised their mistake. I keep track of the debit notices they send and always make sure I have funds available) and was rude and uninformed in my communications with him, advising me to "ask my bank".

The experiences above, while unpleasant, are not the reason I am writing this review today. I am leaving this review because my final payment on the second advance posted today, so as I log in to verify the advance has a zero balance and download records for my bookkeeping, I see that my account has apparently been deleted? When I try to email either of my account reps, I am getting an error message telling me my emails cannot be delivered. Highly unethical. Do not do business with this company. There are other companies who offer the exact same revenue-based financing service without the terrible service. Never again.

Working with Stenn and Toby has been a great experience! Toby was super transparent and always on our side to help us find a solution that worked best for us. Stenn worked hard and fast for us and we were able to secure the funding that we needed.

Some background, we are one of the fastest growing companies in the country. Additionally, we sell holiday decor as our main product lines. As you can imagine, November and December are absolutely crazy for us.

With that being said, we had understand from their reps that they take into account 12 month revenue and seasonality. This means that even if they projected no growth at all the next two months for us, we would easily pay them back. Also, we were willing to work on a percentage of sales basis so that they get first priority. At some level, this was essentially risk free. What we were told we may be eligible for the rep was an amount way more than we needed or requested. The reasons we were rejected for did not take into account anything that we had discussed nor that I thought was relevant to our proposed deal.

I'm of the belief that Ecom lenders should not take a large credence in recent bank deposits because most businesses have money in escrow and use that for advertising. As the business scales, more short term funds are being used as a percentage of recent deposits, to pay for the "longer term" (i.e. 15-30 day) receivables.
This is the practice of a private lender loan shark.

This is a talented firm that takes the time to understand that not one size fits all and they have a long term view, not short. The underwriting team listens and wants to learn about the business instead of assuming. In addition, they actually APPLY the 5 C's of credit and this team has great character.

Simple and straightforward process. Toby was great, rates are v good!

Every day, we receive the typical email blasts from countless lenders that boast "You are already prequalified for $1M". When you see these emails, block them from future deliveries. By now very good experience with Stenn: fast, professional and very transparent process

The system for signing up is pretty good as tech stacks go but actually trying to get anything financed is very difficult. I submitted 2 invoices, 21 days ago, including shipping and BoL as requested, haven’t heard anything since and one of the invoices is due in 9 days now so pretty pointless.
Their CS team seems to consist of 2 people, Francisco and Angela, neither of whom respond to emails and the “live chat” on the website is pointless. Better sticking with Market Invoice in my opinion.
