Brilliant service. Very fast and reliable and if for unfortunate circumstances your sale falls through as/when you find a new property, they’ll give you a like for like survey free of charge.

I had thought that I had agreed to terms and payment through you. It was not explained that I then had to have a separate contract agreement with the surveyor.
Now I have no survey done as I have paid for a service that I have not gotten.
Will your company be returning my money considering that you never explained this when I agreed terms with you and paid the same day?
I will not be able to buy the house I wanted to now and thanks to your company and your lack of detail overall when you are telling people how their surveys will be carried out.

Very good customer care from the very first enquiry. Charles was very happy to answer my questions and provide a follow up call with some further answers before we confirmed our instruction. They were able to facilitate a speedy survey slot with a reputable local firm at a very competitive price. The allocated surveyor contacted us promptly after appointment, provided a verbal update on the day and full written report the day after the survey. I was extremely pleased with the service provided.

The survey was done and report received quickly. Unfortunately the property we first went after fell through but the good thing was we got another survey free which was why I picked Surveyor Local.

Peter Thalia from Carmarthenshire surveyed two properties for me.He provided well structured and detailed reports which were vital in the decisions I needed to make in relation to the properties. He was willto explain terminology and the implications of the report via phone. I was very impressed with the service.

Can’t recommend enough, really so pleased with this service. Had an excellent and very thorough survey done on a property we were hoping to buy. Survey flagged issues with the roof and purchase fell through. We then found another property and used the no-completion guarantee to get a survey on the new property free of charge. Great value, excellent customer service and high quality survey.

Initial contact was fine and agent appeared to understand that time was critical in arranging survey. Fee paid and then received notification that survey would be in 3 weeks (not 7-10 working days as advertised). Spoke with surveyor who stated that they had not committed to any survey agreement with Surveyor Local and had told them that the earliest possible date was actually 4 weeks. Subsequently cancelled survey and am awaiting refund of fee having received no apology, just a standard email confirming cancellation.

I have never used Trustpilot before but registered in order to share my experience. Moving home is stressful enough without this sort of service.

The service from explaining the process to me from beginning to end has been absolutely amazing.

My first time buying. I had someone call me initially for a brief consultation then when I was ready, the whole process was so easy. They arrange everything and the process was super quick.
Results from Surveyor really clear and concise with pictures where necessary.

All they want is ur money. DO NOT recommend. When u ask for confirmation of surveyor date, they never call back. DO NOT recommend at all.

Badly let down when a surveyor had to cancel and then the company said they couldn't do the survey anyway. Tried phoning Surveyor Local many times to try to sort out a short notice replacement, but only once was the phone answered (heavy breathing for 15 seconds!) Left messages, but they don't call back, sent emails, but they don't answer. At this stage all I want is to get my money back and move on, but no, all I get is another email from them appointing another surveyor from well out of the immediate area. If/when they ever get back to me I will update this review.

Having a very negative experience so far and no communication from the surveyor himself is causing my purchase to be delayed. Looking at other reviews it seems I'm not the only one. I will be updating this review (hopefully with positive feedback if things turn around) as this progresses.

UPDATE 06/10/2020 - I have been contacted via email and told the issues will be resolved and I'll get the report in the coming days which is positive. I will amend and update this accordingly.

Really awful service. Phone calls ignored, emails ignored. It’s been a month and my survey still has not gone ahead. I have no idea what is going on, and just want my money back now.

Very easy to book a local surveyor. A quick and easy procedure. For us it was a short notice survey and it seemed no problem for them to find a local surveyor, who called and arranged to do the survey two days later. A very good report and happy with the whole process.

Surveyor Local helped me find a surveyor that could complete my survey in 7 to 10 days, for an affordable price. It made searching for a surveyor much easier.

The surveyor I used was very friendly, affordable, and the only surveyor I found who were able to do the survey a week after I booked it! The report was thorough and easy to read. My only complaint is there was no communication as to how long it would take to get the report. It was another 8 working days which is understandable but more communication would have been appreciated.

Quick honest valuation survey to sell my 50% share in my property

We were recommended Surveyor Local by a friend but unfortunately did not have the same level of service.

Their customer service was great when purchasing our survey on 21 August and taking payment but following this we had multiple issues.

Our first survey was booked in for 3rd September and on the day we received notification from the surveyor that had been instructed that he was not insured to cover our area and had to cancel. We then received notification from surveyor local the day after that they had had to cancel and rearrange for 14th September. This delayed things on our side for our house purchase so I called surveyor local and they said they would try their best for an earlier date and would call me back - to which I never heard back.

On 11 September, I was conscious I had still not heard any confirmation of our survey actually taking place on 14 September so called SL who advised they had spoken to our estate agent and vendor and booked in for the 14th. However, I then called both our estate agent and vendor who had had absolutely no contact from surveyor local.

I then called surveyor local who advised the surveyor would ring our vendor that evening (Friday) to arrange access times for Monday. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s fair to give someone two days notice of a building survey or need to access their property.

On Saturday, I checked with our vendor and she had still had had no contact. So I called to cancel with surveyor local and was told it was cancelled and I would receive a refund.

Two hours later our vendor called me to say a surveyor had tried to call her to which she advised we had cancelled. Again, it seems unfair now to give a day’s notice for access to someone’s home especially in the current climate.

I called surveyor local who advised it had been cancelled. On Monday 14th, I had still not received written confirmation of my cancellation and refund and then received a called from the surveyor directly to say he was trying to organise access.

I then called surveyor local again to confirm full cancellation but they did not answer. It was only after using my boyfriend’s phone did they answer and I was told that they had spoken to the estate agent for access (which they still hadn’t) and was also very rudely told that due to my ‘late cancellation’ they hadn’t been able to let the surveyor know in time. I’m not sure how it can be a late cancellation for something that was never booked in with vendor or estate agent!

I have since received my cancellation confirmation and refund. However, not a process I have enjoyed as first time buyers and we have gone elsewhere within the 5 days since cancelling with surveyor local, had a new survey done and our report received.

Amazing team, brilliant service would definitely use again!

If you want to get bombarded by 6 texts, 10 calls and 8 emails a day, do not use these people.
Absolutely ridiculous, sending me conveyance quotes when i only asked for a few surveyor quotes.
