We were a little disappointed on the lack of depth on some aspects of the report and no commentary on some defects.

On a further inspection by ourselves we noticed the garage door was damaged and there was a missing roof tile. Unlikely but both could have happened after the inspection?

Excellent service from A to Z. Friendly customer service when choosing, discussing and booking my survey. The survey was arranged within 3 business days. The surveyor inspecting the property had his report ready within 24 hours of the inspection and was very helpful with regards to any follow-up questions. I highly recommend their services.

The survey was performed promptly which was good. However a blockage to the kitchen sink and broken window locking mechanisms were missed which we now have to rectify at our expense. Not worth the money for the type of property we purchased.

The report is very useful and great to understand with many pictures.
Sometimes a bit vague, 'may contain small amounts of asbestos'. So it is not clear how much asbestos or how risky this is. But probably it is not possible to be more specific.

Communication with the surveyor has been disappointingly poor to the extent i have yet to hear the sound of Sean McLaughlin voice. I have call him on numerous occasions and left messages with staff but still no call back.

Did what it said it would do. May not be cheapest but seemed competitively priced. Final report was a paper copy and covered the necessary aspects.

The survey was carried out as requested but the property was only inspected visually and superficially. The report mentions, time and again, that only superficial inspection was carried out. No inspection of the good functioning of the water drainage in the kitchen and bathroom was carried out; I could come in to a house that is not even connected to the mains.

Furthermore, the surveyor advises in several parts of the report that water and electricity installations should be inspected by a professional. I would have expected that this would be the surveyor or someone on his/her team.

All in all, the interaction with the surveyor and speed of production of the report were great but the report itself shows a severe lack of professionalism and care. It leaves me with the impression that the whole survey took no more than 30 minutes (approximately the time I took on my first viewing) and was performed by someone with no more qualifications to do so than I have.

All very useful information provided by the surveyor which helped us make our decisions about how to improve the property we intend to buy.

they were ok although a little slow in getting the report to me

We expected a more detailed report to include photos and damp measurements. We would also have expected the building survey to take longer than 45 minutes, the report we received had significant differences than those of the sellers survey which was only 4 years ago therefore making the decision on the proposed purchase more difficult. Having contacted the sellers we were left having to decide which survey to believe. The sellers also unblocked a gully which was reported as blocked, quite easily using a pressure washer as our report had no photos we do not know if that was the gully in the report. We feel like we paid for a full survey and only got a home buyers instead.

Found on a Google search and what a find! The best price by a lot, survey arranged and completed in 2 days , personal call from the surveyor to discuss findings ( highlighting things we had overlooked like the need for building regs for an improvement made ) and an immediate response from Survyors Local to a follow up query. Outstanding. Hopefully won’t need to use them again as I love the house we are buying, but obviously from these comments, wouldn’t go anywhere else for the survey.
