Pushing your sales by making fun of millions of people suffering from a terrible chronic disorder? Really?? I can't believe such awful behaviour still exists in 2023.
Comments from the community got deleted and the people blocked. The company won't take responsibility and only cares about their sales and image.
I am disgusted.

Hello recently, your company made a post saying I have OCD- Obsessive Cup Disorder. Well I have obsessive compulsive disorder which is debilitating to say the least. If you could please consider taking this post down and look into why trivializing this disorder is invalidating And problematic. You wouldn’t use acronyms of other serious diseases or disorders as a marketing grab (I.e. HIV, AIDS, PTSD..) if you would like to learn more please check out the IOCDF website. Swig Life recently shared an incredibly insensitive piece of marketing on their Instagram page calling OCD, "Obsessive Cup Disorder." Rather than accepting responsibility and apologizing when I, and countless others, called out this issue, Swig Life deleted our comments and blocked our accounts. OCD is a debilitating, clinically diagnosed mental health disorder that has controlled my life and nearly ruined it on MANY occasions. It's not a punchline.

This company uploaded a post to IG calling 'OCD' "Obsessive Cup Disorder". Many IG users, including myself, commented on the post trying to explain how using OCD as a joke is harmful to those who have it. Instead of listening and taking our concerns seriously, they continuously deleted EVERY comment about OCD. Then they went one step further and BLOCKED my OCD advocate account and the other accounts. They even took the time to find my personal account and block that one as well. OCD has controlled my life and almost destroyed it. Living with OCD can feel like torture. There is nothing funny about it. Using it as a joke is extremely hurtful. This is absolutely unacceptable and I am disgusted by their actions. Do not support this brand.

Came across their Instagram yesterday and saw that they were using OCD as a joke to promote their brand (already gross). I made a respectful comment, as did others, asking that they remove their post due to the harm these kinds of "jokes" perpetuate, as there's nothing funny or "quirky" about having a debilitating mental illness like OCD. Their reaction? To remove comments and block anyone for daring to comment a second time. Super gross. Won't be buying from them in the future.

Followed swig for awhile, until I saw them make a post referencing an OCD joke. In todays day and age this is unacceptable. Furthermore, there are feverishly deleting negative comments on the post instead of taking accountability. OCD is a debilitating condition that is not a joke. These type of posts add to the stigma. Truly disgusted

Swig Life has uploaded an instagram image that mocks a serious mental health disorder. They have also deleted, blocked and ignored the instagram community that have called this out. How are we living in a time where brands are disrespecting a minority group. It's shameful in so many ways. Do not buy from them.

Was going to buy from them until their latest Instagram post - trivialising mental illness. Do better.

This company is using OCD as a punchline to sell their merchandise via their social media. Instead of addressing concerns brought forward by the OCD community they have been deleting numerous comments to hide the fact that what they’re doing is perpetuating the stigma around OCD. OCD is not fun or quirky. It’s debilitating and exhausting. Shame on this company for using it as a joke.

They made a fun post about ocd and obessive cup disorder. That’s not okay, but if they removed the post after 50 reaction of different people everything would be fine. But no. They removed the comments instead… come on guys. We are in 2023. We know that mental disorders are a real thing and having ocd is horrible. Dont make light of it. To better and remove the post.

I am absolutely horrified at Swig Life’s instagram account and want the Account Manager held accountable. Swig Life is adding to the stigma of OCD and taking zero accountability for what they’re doing. There have been so many people commenting on their “I have OCD, Obsessive Cup Disorder” post poking fun at a serious mental health disorder and instead of acknowledging their mistake, they have continued to cover up and delete all the comments in the comment section all day. Shame on you! I have tried calling and messaging and there has been no response whatsoever. It’s time this company removes this ignorant post and issues an apology for the damage done! Enough is enough. OCD is not a punch line, it stands for obsessive compulsive disorder and it’s a debilitating mental health condition that takes lives. Remove the post immediately.

Company openly using serious mental health conditions as a gimmick to promote their products on Instagram. Then deleting the comments on the post criticising them instead of just deleting it. Showing absolutely zero accountability.

Update: They have now decided to not only delete the comments but block the people trying to educate them as I can no longer see their page and neither can many others. Disgraceful behaviour. Maybe they need to do a staff training session on mental health, particularly OCD and see how severe it is and how it can drive people to suicide. It is not a joke or a gimmick for your marketing strategy.

Swiglife is a great company with great products. They offer drinking cups like tumblers and mugs for keeping drinks cold or hot. The cold drinks will stay cold for 24 hours while the hot drinks will stay warm for 12 hours. They come in all sorts of fun colors and graphics. I have the cheetah print and a marble print one. On the website you can register you cup because they have a lifetime guarantee. The lids however don't last a lifetime. They are plastic and can be washed and taken apart for washing but over time they wear out, especially if you are using the cup every day like I did my cheetah print one. But never fear you can buy a replacement lid for under $6 when you need one. The cups themselves are made of durable stainless steel amd washing is very easy. They can be washes in the dish washer or by hand. The website has benefits where you accrue points for money spent and also for things like following them on Instagram, Facebook signing up for their newsletter etc... And also when you make an order at the end there's always an opportunity to buy a mystery item at a reduced price and it's fun to see what you get. I did it on one order and got the wine mug. It is very nice for keeping wine or any other beverage cold. I've also used it as a coffee cup. I absolutely love my Swig cups. I always have one with me. I can't recommend these enough because they are much less in price than many other cups that are for keeping beverages hot or cold and they are the prettiest out there to choose from.
