Great trip, lots of game
All went well. The Safari was very exciting with a great variety of game. The driver was very good and did his best to make us feel comfortable. The holidays on Sansibar were also great. Problems with the lodge though, but they could partially been resolved.

Geweldige ervaring rijker
onze voorbereiding is al bijna een jaar voor vertrek gestart.
Omdat we met Afrika specialist naar Kenia zijn geweest, was Tanzania specialist eigenlijk gelijk de 1e keus.
Communicatie met Lisa in de voorbereiding was erg fijn. snelle reactie en fijne info .
Helaas zaten er al 2 1e keuzes vol zover van tevoren maar Lisa had gelijk 2 alternatieven die we hebben geboekt.
Info vooraf is ruim voldoende om goed voorbereid op reis te gaan.
Helaas was het 1e hotel niet wat we ervan verwachten. Kamer was super maar het eten................. en het bed. kon echt beter (Raha WIldlife).
De volgende dag staat onze gids/chauffeur mooi op tijd klaar gelukkig was er gelijk een klik met Meckson wat een vriendelijke/behulpzame man.
Hij weet zoveel te vertellen over de dieren echt bijzonder.
Gelukkig zijn de andere hotels wel fijn en een echte aanrader vonden wij Lion's Paw wat een verwennerij en heerlijk eten.
We hebben genoten van een heerlijk safari en we hebben de migratie gezien door het geduld en ervaring van Meckson (wij waren al eerder weggegaan)
Na 8 dagen safari gaan we nog heerlijk een kleine week naar Zanzibar.
We nemen afscheid van Meckson, erg fijn etijd met hem gehad
Dit was eigenlijk het enige chaotische vd vakantie we vetrekken vanaf Kogatende. Met een vertraging van 4,5 uur wat niet/slecht wordt gecommuniceerd en we ook vanuit Tanzania Specialist weinig hulp/reactie krijgen. zo goed als we in Nederland werden te woord gestaan zo moeizaam vond ik de communicatie met onze contactpersoon ter plaatse.
Maar overal was alles erg fijn en hebben we een heerlijk afsluiting gehad op Zanzibar.
We zaten in Legendary Zanzibar

Amazing experience thanks to our guide!
We travelled through tarangire, manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro and had an unbelievable time thanks to our guide Jonas. His knowledge, conversation and experience meant we had so many amazing experiences, seeing over 70 lions, 10 chetahs, 3 Rhinos, and 5 leopards, not to mention hundreds of elephants, hippo's and giraffe and thousands of zebra, wildebeest and gazelles. He seemed to have a sixth sense for finding everything we wanted to see and generally when there were hardly any other trucks around. He was an absolute pleasure to meet, completely made our trip and made us feel safe across the whole week. Thank you Jonas!

Our incredible driver/guide Wilson made…
Our incredible driver/guide Wilson made our experience one we will never forget. He was the best guide we have ever had on any tour we have done anywhere in the world.
Angel was excellent and very helpful throughout the process and the organisation overall was first rate.
There was a mix up with our Stonetown tour starting in Zanzibar but I believe that was a simple miscommunication between Tanzanian Specialist and Destination Specialist TZ.
Acommodation exceeded our expectations with one exception which fell well below the service we experienced in all other lodges. Enkutoto lodge was very disorganised and disappointing with service. The staff were friendly enough but really seemed to have very little understanding of what they should be doing. Payment for the extras we consumed while staying was made very difficult with the electronic payment system having "broken"the day after we arrived and the only method left to pay was in cash. This meant we were left with no cash for the rest of the safari tour.
This did not spoil our expereince but certainly we would not recommend any of our friends to stay in this lodge.
Overall with only one exception, Enkutoto Camp, I would highly recommend Tanzanian Specialist to our friends and family

Safari and Zanzibar in 12 days with Tanzania Specialist
One of the biggest tour operators in Tanzania, which made us feel safe all through our journey. The planning and booking process was smooth, TS was flexible and managed to adapt the proposal to our requests 100%, eg changing hotels better meeting our needs. The pre-holiday brief was really helpful with all the info about the country, what to expect, tipping, etc. The trip was well organized with no mishaps, we had a fantastic holiday, would recommend this adventure definetely!

Our experience was on the whole great! All the accomodations were very good with the exception of the Mateves lodge which was average. The people everywhere were very nice, polite and extremely accomodating. Our guide was great, good natured, good driver and most importantly experienced! The booking process was well organized and the communication with the personnel very good! The total cost was slightly high. However on the whole we were very satisfied.

Trip was Amazing/The Administrative side a nightmare
First of all, let me say that the trip itself was fantastic. The safari, hotels, and food were all five-star. Our guide, Calvin, was exceptional and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time to make sure we had the best experience possible.
Unfortunately, the administrative side of the trip has been a nightmare.
Two different couples in our group were each charged $633 for a nighttime game drive that neither couple requested or took part in. In one case, the couple simply asked about the game drive and how much it would cost. Two days later, they were charged $633. The invoice did not clearly identify what the charge was for, so they assumed it was the final payment for the trip and paid it.
We traveled in June, and it is now August. They are still trying to get their money back for a service they never requested and never received.
What makes the situation even more concerning is that, at one point, a Tanzania Specialist representative told one of the couples that their money would not be refunded unless they removed their negative review.
That is extremely disappointing and not the way a reputable travel company should handle a billing mistake. The safari experience itself was outstanding, and I would have no hesitation recommending the guides, accommodations, and overall safari experience. However, the administrative and customer-service issues have seriously taken away from what should have been an exceptional experience from beginning to end.
I hope Tanzania Specialist addresses these issues and improves its billing and customer-service practices. Customers should not have to fight for months to receive a refund for a service they never requested or received.

Our safari with Tanzania Specialist was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. Our travel consultant Diana was extremely responsive and helpful. The itinerary and information she provided covered all of our queries. The standard of accommodation provided was very high. Every staff member we met was a credit to the company.
Our guide and driver, Fred was fantastic. He was a very experienced safari guide, getting us to the right place at the right time and sharing facts and stories with us. "Excellent experience and program. I especially commend the safari guide, but also everything related to the accommodation and the extremely kind staff at every accommodation, who were constantly available. The only small complaint is the lack of information that the flight from Arusha to Zanzibar was changed to depart from Kilimanjaro, and the fact that I had to be separated from my two minor daughters, who left on one flight while I arrived two hours later on another flight, which is not pleasant when you're quite far from home."

Great driver
Our driver Haji was great! He had so much knowledge about the animals and Tanzania! 10/10 would recommend.
The planning process was a bit protracted since we hat lots of changes last minute. Our consultant managed that mostly great but there were some small changes that even though I mentioned them to the consultant, they were not incorporated and when I asked about that the answer was that I sent loads of other changes as well and that I should’ve double checked before paying. Which, in my opinion, for a price of almost 5000€ per person should not be the case for such a small asjustment of changing full board to half board, also since we mentioned that a bunch of times before for other accommodations.
Other than that it was good.

The trip was organized and most of the places we stayed were nice. The migration camp could have been closer to the Mara River crossing. Staff and guide were very nice. Just know the drives are long, hot, bumpy and dusty.

Incredible experience
We have wanted to do a safari for a long time and booked Tanzania Specialist for our honeymoon - we had an incredible time. Everything ran incredibly smoothly from pick up at the airport to drop off for our next flight. The accommodation was fabulous (we stayed at Arusha Villa, Manyara’s Secret and Kiriche Camp). The food at Manyara’s Secret was incredible and very good at Arusha Villa. Kiriche’s camp had incredible views and very attentive staff - each hotel made extra effort to make our honeymoon even more special.
We spent our safari in Arusha, Manyara, Serengeti and the Ngorongoro crater - we saw so many animals including the big five and learned huge amounts from our knowledgeable and kind safari guide/driver, Stanford. Stanford kept us up to date with our itineraries and made thoughtful changes to his route during the safari to ensure we got the best chance to see the animals we were most desperate to see. He was extremely organised and made sure we had everything we needed each day and was happy to make changes based on our preferences.
When we encountered a problem with our ongoing travel following our safari (unrelated to Tanzania Specialist), Stanford contacted airport staff for us to make sure we were able to get the issue sorted and made sure this was followed up when we arrived at the airport. He even texted us the day after to check we’d had no problems. Absolutely brilliant time. Thank you so much Stanford.
Tanzania Specialist themselves were very responsive over email and answered our queries quickly. The only slight downfall was transparency on pricing - when we were initially looking at booking additional activities we were given a price only to be told later that those prices were wrong and were actually significantly higher. Additionally, 3-4 weeks before we were due to depart for our safari, I received an email from Tanzania Specialist requesting an additional payment of 4% of our total safari cost to support with increases in fuel prices. Due to the last minute nature of this request and the fact that the surcharge was a percentage of our entire safari (rather than just the fuel part), we queried this. After querying, we were told that the surcharge was not mandatory however the initial email included an invoice and very much gave the impression that we would have to pay over £300 extra. I felt like the communication here could have been better as it is very difficult to budget for a trip when there are last minute price changes (bearing in mind we booked this back in 2025).
Apart from this blip before the safari, our experience was brilliant.

An Unforgettable Tanzania Adventure — Exceptional Service from Start to Finish
We had an absolutely amazing experience with Tanzania Specialist from start to finish! Our Tanzania trip was truly unforgettable, and a huge part of that was the outstanding service and support we received from the entire Tanzania Specialist team.
A very special thank you to our travel consultant, Raposhi Olosotu, who was exceptional throughout the entire planning process. We planned our trip within a relatively short six-week timeframe, and Raposhi made the entire process feel effortless. He worked with me closely for nearly a month, patiently modifying and fine-tuning our itinerary until it matched exactly what our family wanted. He was incredibly responsive, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in understanding what we were looking for.
Raposhi also provided excellent recommendations for our lodges and accommodations, which turned out to be some of the highlights of our trip. His knowledge and recommendations made a huge difference in creating an itinerary that was not only exciting but also comfortable and perfectly suited to our family. Even with the relatively short planning timeline, he never made us feel rushed or pressured. He was always available to answer questions, make changes, and offer thoughtful suggestions. His professionalism, patience, responsiveness, and attention to detail were truly exceptional. We felt that he genuinely cared about making our trip special, and he delivered far beyond our expectations.
Our safari guide and driver, Remi Mollel, was equally outstanding. Remi was extremely knowledgeable about the national parks, wildlife, animal behavior, and the best locations to find the action. His experience and knowledge made a huge difference throughout our safari in Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
One of the most impressive examples was when we had only one day in the Northern Serengeti and really wanted to see the wildebeest migration and river crossings. Remi knew exactly where to take us and positioned us in the right areas at the right time. Incredibly, we were able to witness two river crossings within about two hours! It was one of the most spectacular and memorable experiences of our entire trip.
Remi was also an excellent driver—observant, professional, and always focused on giving us the best possible safari experience. He clearly knew the parks extremely well and had an incredible ability to anticipate where the wildlife would be. We could not have asked for a better guide.
We would also like to give special recognition to Riziki Cliford, our contact person during the safari. When we decided at the last minute that we wanted to change our itinerary so that we could travel to the Northern Serengeti to experience the migration and river crossings, Riziki went above and beyond to make it happen. She was incredibly helpful, responsive, and resourceful in arranging the last-minute changes. Her assistance allowed us to experience something that became one of the absolute highlights of our trip. We truly appreciated having someone so dependable and helpful available to us during the safari.
What impressed us most was how smoothly everything came together. From airport transfers and accommodations to game drives, domestic flights, and even last-minute itinerary changes, Tanzania Specialist handled everything professionally.
Raposhi, Remi, Riziki, and all the wonderful lodge and resort staff deserve special recognition for making our trip so extraordinary. Their knowledge, professionalism, responsiveness, warmth, and genuine commitment to giving us the best possible experience made a tremendous difference.
This was a very special family trip that we will remember for the rest of our lives. We are extremely grateful to Tanzania Specialist and the entire team for making it such an incredible experience.
